Chapter 13:
Our Town in another world
Winona stared in disbelief as the car sped off towards town. "Wh- What the hell is that thing? It moves fast, carries people like a carriage- Ugh, who cares!? They're getting away, dammit! Like hell you can just cheat like that!" she fumed as she quickly formed a new normal-sized arrow and fired it at one of the car's tires.
To her greater annoyance, the arrow appeared to hit the tire, but shattered before piercing it, not slowing it down in the slightest.
Trembling, she clenched her fist as a furious scowl overtook her face. "It's 2 more Ules... 2 more Ules you have to evade me for... DOESN'T MATTER WHERE IT IS! Ƿ𐌉𐌍𐌃 𐌅𐌋𐌖𐌀𐌓 [WIND FLYAR]!"
An aura of wind burst forth from Winona, blowing her long hair about madly. Locking her sights on the car, she took a stance before blasting off like a rocket towards it.
From mission control back in town, Muki clicked her tongue as she caught sight of Winona from the car's rear-view camera. "Bastards really do have nasty magic on them. Guess that means we gotta fight back with brains and science," she thought.
Winona quickly closed the distance in seconds, brandishing her knife as she prepared to land atop the car's roof. "Don't know what this is, but now I've got you! Game over!" she shouted.
But as she tried to slam down on the roof, the car braked suddenly, causing her to overshoot the landing and land on the ground a few feet before the car. "Hoh? You can dodge in that thing? But now you've let me get in front, so now there's no-"
SMASH!
Winona's eyes bulged out of her head as the car suddenly slammed into her with great force, shattering her left hip and sending her ragdolling off to the plains behind as it sped away. Hurling up blood, Winona slowly picked herself up and stared at the car's rear as it sped off.
"Fire? Fire is spewing forth from that thing yet it moves so fast!? Aha, aha, amusing! I've never been hurt this badly in my entire life by anything!" she cackled as she rose to her feet, a demented smile spreading across her face.
Had it not been for the windy aura protecting her, Muki's modified rocket-propulsion Tesla likely would've killed Winona on the spot. Even the injury she just got would be fatal in most cases, but not if healing magic was factored into the equation.
Holding her hand to her broken hip, Winona activated her healing magic, slowly mending the broken bones and damaged tissue within. "Looks like you'll make it back to your city, but lest you forget, this is a timed hunt. I've yet to tick under 2 Ules, though who knows how long this'll take to heal. Worst case for me, I'm left with just a Ule, but I doubt I'll be out of action THAT long, nor would I assume you'd accept such an easy victory... Aoi."
As the car drove to town, Aoi constantly peered out the back window, scowling as Winona got further and further away. "She ain't dead yet. And who the hell do you think you are trying to kill steal!?" she shouted at Jenna.
"I was ordered to retrieve you by my master. Nothing more," Jenna flatly responded.
"Well then give me the car and get out. I'm still fighting Winona for 2 hours and I want to enjoy them!"
"No, this is my car. You want to fight her, get out," Muki's voice snarled over the car's loudspeaker.
"And who the hell are you?"
"Her master."
Now able to hear Muki's voice unfiltered, Rosa let out a gasp. "Then you're the one I was talking to before!?"
"Ugh, forgot the filter was off... Fuck. Well yes, so start telling me things in more detail starting with that thing that was hauling you around."
Rosa went silent. She was unsure if telling Muki about DaVinci was the right move, but not saying anything was a bad play too. "He said he's following us, so you can ask him yourself when we get back."
"And you think I'm gonna put myself out there without knowing how dangerous he is?"
"He saved my life."
"Maybe to get close with us to infiltrate us."
Rosa was taken aback by Muki's distrustfulness, but Muki's concerns were valid. From her perspective, DaVinci could be just like Ikebukuro in trying to appear peaceful and friendly while harboring malintent. Even though it was her philosophy that society would function better if they were all under strict control, Muki did care about her town and it's residents to some extent.
"We've already got three evil elves roaming within city limits. I can't just bring an unknown factor into my town."
"Your town? Are you the mayor? No, your voice is wrong..."
"Ah, I recognize it! You're Muki Muku Mu!" Aoi cried.
"You a sub or something?"
"Nah, I sub to none but myself. Aoi Plav, the greatest gamer to ever gamer."
"Already know who you are. So care to enlighten me more than your friend?"
"About that bear dwarf thing? Guy said he was a DaVinny or something. Too nerdy for me to give a fuck about."
"How about the elf?"
"Girl's gamer as fuck! She hunts girls, decapitates em when she catches them, ad did you see her sick moves? She can shoot arrows and fly with the wind! I'm so gonna 1v1 her, so don't ruin my fun. I don't need your support, but I'll take your support items!" Aoi cried as she suddenly lunged for Jenna.
However, she was met with a plexiglass barrier, preventing her from progressing any further.
"This is one of my modded works. If you think you can just do what you want in it, you're wrong, smoothy."
"Mods are for losers that can't win shit properly," Aoi scowled as she attempted to lower the window.
"Then I don't need you. 1v1 your stupid girlfriend on your own," Muki grumbled as sleeping gas began pouring into the back seat, knocking Aoi and Rosa out instantly.
"Madam, are you really intending to cast them aside?" Jenna asked.
"You heard me just now, didn't you? I want her to 1v1 that elf pursuing her, so sit back cuz I'll be taking control once you reach town."
"What do you have in mind?"
"I'm going to kill that elf, that's what."
