Chapter 15:
Crazy About You
The next day, Amilda was in her house looking angry as she helped her mother.
Her father had held firm to her hand when they were going out, and she couldn't struggle to get out of his grip, which made her angry.
Few minutes later, her mother was done with what she was doing and this made Amilda happy.
"They will be leaving today," Amilda said and ran into her room smiling.
Getting into her room, she picked up her phone and placed a call to Aayan but he didn't pick up.
"Why isn't he picking?" She asked herself and called him again five times, but still, he didn't pick up.
"Aayan!" She shouted and walked to the living room.
She sat on a stool close to her mother as her mother was out of the house.
"Mother!, I should have believed you." She said, and her mother sat up straight, looking at her daughter.
"Why?" Sumitra asked her daughter.
"Aayan isn't picking up my call," Amilda said with tears in her eyes.
Sumitra looked at her daughter and drew her close.
"Don't be sad. I knew this would happen." Sumitra said.
A newspaper vendor passed by and a paper fell on the floor. The picture shown on the front page caught Amilda's attention.
She picked it up and looked at it.
Her mother looked at her daughter and decided to pay the vendor off.
"Why will you take it without my consent?" Sumitra asked her daughter who shook.
"What is wrong?" Sumitra asked Amilda who showed her the paper.
"He is dead." Amilda cried.
Sumitra looked at her daughter and then took the paper.
She read what was in the paper and looked at her daughter, who continued weeping. She pulled her daughter closer to herself.
"Amilda!" She called her daughter who kept crying.
"Dad should know about this. He should know that his lovely sister is a murderer and everything I said is true." Amilda said, weeping, and Sumitra hugged her tight.
Amilda, we are sorry for not believing you. " Sumitra said and tried to begin a new conversation with her daughter but Amilda got up and left her.
"Amilda!" She called but Amilda didn't reply.
Amilda ran into the house and into her room. She locked the door and walked to her bed weeping.
"If only they had believed me, you would still be alive." She said weeping.
Outside, her mother got up and went into the living room where she looked around for Amilda but didn't see her.
"Amilda!" She called and went to Amilda's bedroom and found it locked.
She knocked on the door as she cried.
"Amilda!" She called but Amilda didn't answer.
"Let me know you are still breathing," Sumitra said and Amilda looked at the door angrily.
"I won't kill myself. I would live just to make him happy." She screamed. "If only your husband had believed me, he won't be dead."
The tears on Sumitra's face increased as she fell to the floor.
"We are the cause of Saab Avil's death," Sumitra said and got up.
She walked to the living room and paced around.
Two hours later, her husband came back, and she hugged him tight.
"What is wrong with you, Sumi?" He asked.
"Your daughter does not want to open the door." She said and this made Yash upset.
"What does she mean by that?" He asked and was about to go to Amilda's room.
Sumitra held her husband back and showed him the paper.
"What is this?" He asked as he looked at it.
Sumitra looked at him.
"Read on." She said and Yash continued reading with a shock on his face.
"My sister did this!" Yash shouted with his eyes closed.
"Amilda!" Sumitra shouted and Yash looked towards the direction of her room.
"I should have believed her, but I chose to trust my sister over my daughter," Yash said and walked to the door of Amilda's room and knocked on it, but she didn't answer.
He looked at his wife and then at the door.
"I am going to break this door down if you don't open up." He shouted and Amilda walked out.
She stretched a box to him while she stood at the door side.
Yash immediately recognized the box as the gift given to her by Muni two days ago.
"What is in here?" He asked but Amilda didn't reply.
Seeing that Amilda wouldn't reply to him, he placed the box down and opened it as his wife stared.
"Here is your favorite chocolate." Her father said, looking at her, but she didn't say a word.
An envelope caught his attention, and he picked it up.
He recognized the envelope as the envelope Amilda wanted to show him. He opened the envelope and saw a letter which he brought out and read. He was beyond shock after reading the content of the letter in the envelope and looked at Amilda who stood up straight.
"If only you both had given heed to me, Saab Avil and my Aayan would have been saved," Amilda said, and Sumitra broke down as she imagined how Sahil would feel now that his brother was gone.
"I didn't ever think my sister would stoop so low to the extent of killing someone," Yash said.
Sumitra got up from where she was and wrapped her hand around her husband's waist.
"She became my enemy because of a competition," Sumitra said, and Yash looked at her, shocked.
"No that isn't. She only pitied you because you were poor but became your enemy when you decided to accept Dad's marriage proposal." Amilda said. "She told me that she only used the competition as an excuse."
Yash couldn't believe his ears as he was shocked.
"Muni actually told you all this?" He asked and Amilda nodded.
"She married Sahil through deceptive means. She told me she really wanted Sahil, which I agreed to, but I was against her lying. I never knew that she murdered Priya." Yash said and looked down. "I heard of Priya's death and was happy that Muni had no fault in it. I was happy that she can marry the love of her life not..."
Tears began to well up Yash's face, but he had to prevent it from falling as he was a man.
"Amilda, I am sorry for not heeding you, and I will accept allyoururequestssts from henceforth," Yash said and walked to his room holding Sumitra.
"Father, I would like to go out," Amilda said and Yash turned to look at his daughter.
"Do not worry. Nothing is going to happen to me." Amilda said and walked into her room.
She painted her face and wore her veil.
She walked out of her room and out of her house as her father and mother watched her leave.
She had some money with her so she walked to a mini shop and greeted the owner.
"I would like to have an ice cream." She said to the shop owner and went to sit.
A man walked up to her and touched her cheek.
"Leave me alone." She said but the man cupped her face.
"You are beautiful." He said and Amilda smiled.
"Thank you." She said.
Minutes later, she was on the floor moaning as the man kept moving on her.
The shopkeeper looked at them and shook his head.
The man stood up from her and she immediately walked to the shop owner who gave her the ice cream which she ordered for and with this, she walked home without looking at the man.
Her mother hugged her immediately she got home and this made her feel pain in her hips.
"Mother!" She screamed and immediately ran into her room.
Getting to her room, she sat on the bed smiling.
"I really miss the taste of you, Aayan." She said. "I am going to have it with men at random so that I do not fall in love with anyone as I fell for you."
She looked up and walked into her bathroom to wash herself clean.
Whereas in the living room, Yash walked out of his room to join his wife.
"I guess we should find a job for Amilda." He said to his wife.
"But not against her will," Sumitra said and Yash nodded.
"She is too young for all that is happening to her," Sumitra said and Yash sniffled.
Amilda stood by the wall listening to what her parents were saying.
"I would want us to go visit Muni at the station tomorrow," Amilda said walking to them.
Yash shook his head, wanting to refuse, but had to agree when he remembered his promise.
"Alright, we will be out tomorrow to the station," Yash said and Amilda nodded.
"I will also need a gift next week on my birthday which I will be letting you know," Amilda said and left to her room.
Yash stared at his wife as his daughter left.
"What do you think she will like for her birthday?" He asked but his wife shook her head.
