Chapter 21:
Summoned as a Hero?! But I’m Actually the Demon King!
The battle began.
Leonix from the future grinned. His black hair was wild, his eyes a fiery red. He stood tall, exuding a terrifying aura of madness.
"I see," he whispered, his voice filled with a mocking tone. "This is what I've been waiting for all this time. A battle between the strongest and the even stronger." His insane laughter echoed through the ruins.
Shion clenched her fist. The sword in her hand trembled. "Damn you, Leonix! Finally, my goal of finishing you is within reach! You truly are untrustworthy!"
Without hesitation, Shion attacked first. Loisana launched her most powerful magic, and Danny transformed into a full-grown werewolf. The three of them moved like lightning, surrounding Leonix from three directions.
They fought with all their might, but Leonix was simply too strong. His every attack was fast, brutal, and unpredictable. When Leonix was finally cornered, it was a great opportunity for Shion. She activated her magic sword.
"Spark Sword Flash!"
Shion unleashed a lightning sword attack, and at the same time, Loisana formed a shield in front of her. "Max Barrier Reflect!"
The attack shot straight toward Leonix. However, instead of hitting him, Shion's sword shattered into a million pieces in mid-air, turning into magical dust.
"It can't be… my anti-demon magic sword was destroyed just like that?" Shion couldn't believe her eyes.
Leonix smirked. He activated his full-speed magic, and in the blink of an eye, he was in front of them. A single blow knocked all three of them down. They lay on the ground, in pain.
"Didn't I tell you? No one can defeat me," Leonix whispered, his mad smile spreading across his face.
Suddenly, the sky above them rumbled. Rain began to fall, accompanied by lightning strikes. As if the universe was responding to Leonix's laughter, the rain and thunder became a terrifying backdrop.
"Finally… finally, I will do all of this for you, my angel… Seraphine."
Shion slowly got up, along with Loisana and Danny. "So that's it? Seraphine is the key?" she asked, her voice trembling. "You should be ashamed, Leon. Would she be happy to see you like this?"
"WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT LOSS AND BETRAYAL?!" Leonix roared. His anger was so immense that a shockwave spread through the ruins, almost knocking Shion back down.
"Seraphine wouldn't want to see everyone suffer," Loisana said softly. "Are you going to keep making her sad, Leon? Would this make her happy? No, she would be incredibly sad to see you become this."
Loisana's words broke through Leonix's rage. Suddenly, he fell silent. His aura of madness faded. His body swayed, and he fell to his knees, tears streaming down his face.
When he looked up, he saw Loisana. "You… why do you have a light like Seraphine's?" he whispered.
Loisana didn't answer. She just looked at Leonix with eyes full of regret. "Actually… there's something I want to tell you, Father."
Shion and Danny were shocked. "Father?"
Loisana nodded. "After my mother gave birth to me and raised me, you returned to your world for a peace mission. You didn't know I had grown up and was waiting for you. After that, I learned to use many kinds of magic taught by my mother and by Aunt Layla and Aunt Natalia."
"Then," she continued, her voice trembling, "humanity became vengeful because of the attack of the fifth and fourth Demon Generals, Lucifer and Daemos, who directly killed Aunt Layla and Aunt Natalia. Humans blamed my mother for all of this, just because she had the blood of a Demon King from another world."
Loisana cried. "They immediately executed my mother and crucified her, and that made you furious when you returned to this world."
Leonix knelt, hugging Loisana tightly. His tears continued to flow.
"I kept returning to the past thanks to the magic Natalia taught me," Loisana continued. "I was so shocked… you are the son of the first Hero from your old world. Your father married a demon from this world—my mother."
"After your Grandmother's death, your Father entrusted you to a Demon General, who was Natalia's father. Until you finally grew up… I kept watching you grow until you were framed by the Church."
"Framed for what?" Shion asked, filled with deep curiosity.
"Yes," Loisana sighed. "My father was framed for slaughtering the villagers in Carmir, even though he didn't do anything at the time. It was the humans who started it with the Church. Those who didn't follow them were killed under the pretext that my father had killed them. Until finally, you appeared, Shion. You were their light of hope. You were clean, firm, and accused my Father of committing genocide, even though he didn't. My father even let the villagers live freely without rules from the Church, until you finally attacked his palace and drove him out."
Shion was silent. Her eyes were wide. She couldn't believe that everything she had done was for nothing.
Everything became quiet. Only the sound of the rain and thunder broke the silence, accompanying the deep sadness and regret.
