Chapter 22: The Past That Must Be Fixed

Leonix stood up and asked his daughter to send Shion back to the past, specifically to the moment they first met.

"My daughter," Leonix said, his voice pleading. "Can you send Shion back to the past, before she met you?"

Loisana agreed, on the condition that her father would tell her all the weaknesses of the Demon Generals and the new Demon King.

Leonix flicked his daughter's forehead and gave her all the information she needed.

He then healed all three of them. Loisana, however, secretly gave a pipe containing the information to Shion.

"What? Why are you giving this to me? It should be for you, from your father," Shion said, confused.

"No," Loisana replied. "Do what you have to do."

A blinding light enveloped Danny and Shion.

"Goodbye," Loisana said.

"Wait, what are you doing, Lois?"

"Goodbye, my beloved adopted mother, Shion. Please take care of my father and my mother in that time."

Shion understood everything and the light sent them back to the past.

The future disappeared. Loisana and the future Leonix vanished, and the entire timeline was erased as if the story had never happened.

They returned to the past, to the exact moment when Leon, Seraphine, Layla, and Natalia were looking for Shion.

"Shion! Where have you been? We've been looking for you all day!" Leonix said, sounding exhausted.

"Yeah, our clothes are all wet, you know," Seraphine added.

"Are you with someone? Could this be your new boyfriend, Shion?" Layla teased, seeing Danny next to her.

"No, he's just a friend. And… he wants to join our party," Shion replied.

Natalia looked skeptical. "Are you serious, Shion? Inviting a wolf-person into our party?"

"Of course," Shion said with new-found confidence. "We need more members, right?"

"Yeah, I guess so. We'll accept you as our danger detector," Layla said.

The six of them decided to return to the city since it was getting late. Shion stopped Leonix.

"Leon," she called. "There's something I need to talk to you about."

"Huh? What is it? Are you going to kill me?" Leonix asked, a playful grin on his face.

Shion didn't answer. Instead, she stepped forward and hugged Leonix tightly. The hug happened so quickly, unnoticed by the other party members. For Seraphine, Layla, and Natalia, it was just a regular greeting after Shion had been away for the day. But for Shion, it was a hug that conveyed a thousand apologies, a deep sense of regret, and a solemn promise.

Leonix froze, completely taken aback. But slowly, he returned the hug. He could feel Shion's warm tears on his shoulder.

In accordance with the promise she made to Loisana, Shion would now protect Leonix, Seraphine, Layla, and Natalia. She held the pipe of information given to her by Loisana, which would be the key to changing their destiny.

Their story didn't end here. This was just a new beginning.
