(short) (prologue)

in a random hut in Tangara De Serra, a child solider by the name of Trem Dedoido, finds a sketchbook hidden in the cabinet of a widow, and as he opens up the pages to scan, they are empty, until random drawings start to appear, page by page. The drawings start to dissolve as he flips through various pages, he than he stops at one page, letting it sit and be still, and the dissolving drawing start to fade back in, appearing on the page suddenly. Soft pastel, he could tell the line material of which the drawing suddenly appeared in. he held the page gently by the corners as the full image was released.

an ancient tribal hanging, in the background, was a village burning. And in the flames, was the flag of the modern state. 

he trembled as he held the pages,

"was..." 

he did not know if this was the past or the future, 

faces began to appear.
