Chapter 10:

Onmyou 10: Water Bullets

The Strongest Sage, Reincarnated as an Onmyouji

I have a few choices.

1:Ignore him and leave. But this comes with the issue of him attacking me and forcing me to fight, or him chasing me to fight him.

2:Fight and purposely lose. But if his good at fighting, he’ll know I’m losing on purpose. Plus, it’ll make him disapprove of Hyouka’s decision, and the chances of him going out of the plan and doing his own thing, which may result in me having to come and clean up their mess.

3:Accept and win. Thinking about it, there’s more upside than downside. Sure, I reveal to him some of my skills, but winning would mean he won’t disapprove of Hyouka’s decision and follow through with her plan, which means a higher chance for her plan to succeed and for me not to have to fight.

“Fine. So, where shall we fight?”

“Here.” Kurasu took out a talisman and chanted.

“Training, Sparing, a room isolating us from the outside world. Kyo Kyo no Issen.”

All of a sudden, we were transported into a large, almost limitlessly empty room. No, it’s as if the room was created with spatial magic, where the inside is larger than it looks on the outside.

“Whenever you’re ready.” Kurasu took out a pair of pistols and pointed them directly at me.

“Wow, aren’t you an exorcist? Why a gun?”

“This is my talisman.”

“...Eh?” A gun? As a talisman?

“Bullet of water, pierce my enemies. Kyo Kyo no Issen.”

Kurasu shot out a bullet of water that nearly hit me.

“Water Bullet.”

“It’s the element I have the most aptitude with.”

“Then, let me show you what a real Water bullet is.”

There are two methods to use a spell. Either using mana from your own body or using mana from the surroundings. It’s easier to use mana from within your body, but the power output is lower, and there’s a limited amount of mana. Of course, the limit of each person varies.

The other way is using mana from the surroundings. The power output is stronger, and there’s a nearly unlimited amount of mana around us, but it takes a lot of control to use the surrounding mana.

As for me, it’s obvious that I can use both methods.

“Water Bullet.”

Using the surrounding mana, I condensed the mana into water droplets before merging all of the droplets into one and shaping it into a bullet.

“Take this.” I shoot the water bullet, and compared to Kurasu’s bullet, the speed and power are much stronger.

But as expected, Kurasu easily dodged.

“Tch. Your compatible element is water as well?”

“Compatible element?”

“You don’t know what’s Compatible element!?”

“Yup. Cause I can use all of them.”

This time, I condensed the mana, not into water droplets, but into various different elements, fire, water, earth, wind, grass, darkness, light, electric, etc. Then, merging them into multiple bullets, each of a different element.

“Magic Bullet: Elements, Barrage.”

“Huh? You’re kidding. All five elements… and even combined elements!?”

“Sorry, but I have to make this as quick as possible. I’ve got to continue watching Ka**n R**er G*at*. I stopped halfway due to exams.”

I shoot all of the elemental bullets towards Kurasu, without giving him a moment to rest. Each time a bullet is released, another one is quickly created and shot out.

Kurasu tried his best to dodge the bullets, but due to the sheer amount and speed of my bullets, he was hit within a few seconds.

With that one hit staggering his movements, he lost all momentum and got hit with all of my bullets.

“Kah…you’re… strong”

Despite getting hit by all of my attacks, Kurasu seemed to be in a near-perfect conditions.

I may have reduced the power by 80%, but it seems like this room has an effect that buffed our defenses.

“Want to continue?”

“Tch, as much as I hate to admit it, you’re strong.” Kurasu raised his arms up and surrendered.

Suddenly, the room turned pitch black, and we were teleported back to the streets where we were previously.

“That means you approve of me, right? Oh, you’re all healed up.”

“Yeah. I acknowledge your strength and follow through with Hyouka’s plans. Just who are you? You don’t know, Compatible elements, and the fact that you’re surprised I’m all healed up after using the Training room. You’re not a normal Exorcist, are you?”

“Sort of. I guess I’m what you call an Irregular.”

“I see. Well, not that I care. In this business, strength is everything, especially for us exorcists that doesn’t belong to any family.”

“I see… anyways, see you at school tomorrow.”

Right as I was about to leave, Kurasu grabbed my shoulders.

“You said that you were going to watch G*at*, right? Plus, that keychain on your bag… You’re also a fan, right?”

“Yup. I suppose you’re one yourself, Kurasu.”

“Hmm, of course! Tokusatsu is what I live for! Becoming an exorcist is also because of that.”

“How interesting.”

“Uhmm… anyways, I’m currently living at the school dormitory, so if you want to talk about tokusatsu, you know where to find me.” With that said, Kusaru walked away with a big smile on his face.

Yeah, I’m not going to find him for something like that. Though it’s great to find someone who enjoys watching K*a*e* Ri**r, since Akaki and Kaki prefer to watch sports shows and foreign movies.

“...Right, he didn’t give me his social media details…”
