Chapter 50:

Tyrant queen

Our Town in another world

Rosa sunk to her knees in despair as tears began to pour down her face. "No, I doomed everyone. I'm sorry... I'm sorry..."

The short-haired elf smirked as she strutted over to the group. "Would be if that bitch was still real, but she bit the dust ages ago."

"Huh?"

Mizata immediately grabbed the short-haired elf by her collar. "Impossible! Mother was fine when I was sent out-"

"Yeah, and then she got gobbled up by the puma. Thanks to me."

"But that-"

"How about you let your faraway friend explain it," the short-haired elf smirked as she turned to Jenna.

"You talking about me?" Muki's voice crackled through Jenna's phone.

"Yup. You can see through me, can't you?"

Everyone stared in confusion.

"Guess I'd better calm everyone down. I don't know what you saw, but whatever it was, it was an illusion."

The revelation shocked everyone, but none more so than Mizata. "Shuzu... You didn't..."

The short-haired elf grinned and snapped her fingers. The elf soldiers completely vanished as did the elf that had accompanied her. Even the emerald-haired elf that had become a blip at this point in the sky vanished too. Finally, the short-haired elf's severed braid reattached while her toga was replaced with indigo capri pants and a sleeveless light tan shirt.

"And that's the magic show. Shuzu, new queen of the eventyde elves," the short-haired elf bowed.

Everyone was at a loss for words.

"Sheesh, you got a new more progressive ruler here, and you all stiffen up? Are you diplomats or tourists?"

"No, it's just you're shocking everyone to the point where they have no idea how to process your sporadicness!" Mizata fumed as she slugged Shuzu in the face.

As Shuzu soon explained to everyone, Mizata and herself were sisters and daughters of the previous elf queen, Emerelda. Emerelda had previously been in charge when Mizata was sent away, with the intent being that she fail to return. Shortly after, Shuzu had successfully managed to assassinate Emerelda by tricking her into being eaten by the great sky puma. As such, she was now queen, which meant "out with the old, in with the new" as she put it best.

"What of the politicos and elders?" Mizata asked.

"Duh, I took over as a tyrant and killed off all who refused to kiss my ass," Shuzu replied with a grin.

Everyone gave her a disappointed look.

"What? Had to get those relics to my cause somehow. But seriously didn't expect these two to force you to come here, them to kill the great sky puma, then get killed off by humans. Well, we'll say one head's from the humans, the other the dwarves," Shuzu shrugged as she took custody of Shalala and Harajuku's heads.

"And was the illusion show just your way of having fun?" Mizata glared.

"That and security. I had to check things out myself, and all was good. Only things I wanna know is why baldy hid her baldness and how she killed these two."

"As I said before, Jenna killed them. In regards to my baldness, I was kidnapped by an elf named Winona and shaved bald against my will. This wig is modeled after how my hair used to be," Rosa stated.

"Ah, Winona... Guess you just got unlucky, or lucky since you survived. So tell me how ya took out Harajuku n' Shalala."

"Jenna, is there any cola and mentos on board the plane?"

Jenna shook her head.

"In that case, please direct your attention to my phone."

Shuzu blinked in surprise as she stared at the video on Rosa's phone. "You got something that casts illusions!?"

"No, this is just a normal phone. What you're seeing is a video recording. The soda bottle-"

"I WANT ONE!"

Rosa turned to Jenna and nodded, with Jenna procuring a phone box from her coat. Shuzu snatched the box immediately and opened it up, giddily turning the phone on.

"Whoa, this thing's got illusions in it. And it's a gift?"

"Correct. I heard from Mizata that you're more the naturalists up here, which is why we opted to go with this instead of a car."

"What's a car?"

"Runs on rubber wheels n' goes fast like a mine cart," Borferd stated.

"Wheels? Yeah, no good here. We can't even ride fauna here with how things are. Heck, those lousy elders have screwed us so bad, I get the feeling we're behind the times."

"You want a car?"

"Won't say no to gifts, but practicality in play, this thing looks better. Just need to know how to set this up."

Rosa quickly walked Yuzu through the steps as the others watched in silence.

"She's grown, but she's still young. It'll take some time before she can be compared to Nagako," Thorwall mumbled.

"I am in agreement, but by this stroke of luck, it seems she's finally been given her perfect stepping stone," DaVinci nodded.

Once Shuzu's phone was all set up, she began playing around with her phone, getting addicted in seconds. "Oi, how do I give this thing "yen"?" she asked as she played a mobile game.

"And I wonder if the politicos and elders you toppled will see this grounds for a coup," Mizata glared.

"Just give em phones then. They'll be hooked in seconds. I take it this "yen" stuff is human currency, so you get the whole village on this, there's a fortune in trade right there."

"It's shocking that you'd say something like that so nonchalantly. Aren't you supposed to be queen?"

"My rule, my rules. So, how bout a quick tour of the place before I pop over to your city," Shuzu smiled as she got up.

Setting foot into Evendale, the group took note of how all paths and dwellings were built into the crystal. The goods on display in shops consisted mostly of leaves, berries, and clothes. The biggest standout were the stands selling drinks made from the herbs and berries, with Rosa immediately zooming in on one drink that resembled coffee.

"Ah, that's the Hahfftee I told you about before," Mizata stated.

"You humans have something similar?" Shuzu asked.

"Yes, we actually brought some coffee beans with us. In fact, we were hoping that as part of a deal, you could try growing them at one of the less snowier peaks in your domain," Rosa declared.

"Can't grow em yourself? Well guess if we can, you humans will give us money so we can replenish our spendings on the phones... Works out."

"And if I could ask you this as well, we're currently linking Buvaria to our town of Ohana via train. Would you like a train to be built up to here?"

"Nah, not all the way up here. I'm not as naturalist as the relics before me, but still naturalist. Most folks here are too. But building some train thingy at the base and improving the walking trail from there to the city? That's fine with me."

"You sound more benevolent than tyrannical," Rosa laughed.

"That how I seem to humans? Well, take good first impressions when you can."
