Chapter 2:
Bangles of power, Warriors of Fate
And after that, the bangle worn by him glowed an evil red. Zevroth was experiencing something strange, painful, but powerful in his body. His eyes turned red, and his body was emitting strong red flames and lights, covering a wide area such that Hijoto and Itiwah also noticed the light coming from the garden itself. Wahido realized that the rightful owner of the red bangle had reached it after he felt the warmth of the red bangle. Tsangero noticed the light from a distance and realized that someone had finally claimed the red bangle. She ran towards Wahido's house, leaving all the collected wood behind. Hijoto and Itiwah also ran inside the house to save Wahido.
Wahido got into the room where the red bangle was kept, and as soon as he opened the door, his skin started to burn from the heat—only Watsukais can bear the heat of the red bangle. Zevroth was then completely under the control of an evil power. His size doubled, he grew two horns on his head, and his nails became long and sharp. Wahido got unconscious, his skin burned, and suddenly Hijoto and Itiwah came to rescue him.
Hijoto pulled his sword out and uttered:
“Aqua Fang Slash — the power of blue!”
(Aqua Fang Slash — a water blade technique which is highly offensive. The user condenses water into multiple fang-shaped blades, which are launched towards the enemy in rapid succession, wounding the enemy through successive hits and cutting through flesh.)
The water blades moved towards Zevroth at high speed, but what happened was unbelievable to Hijoto’s eyes—not a single blade reached him; they all vaporized in the air. Hijoto was in deep shock and realized the power of the red bangle.
Itiwah took Wahido out of the house and laid him on the grass. She raised both her hands sideways and uttered:
“Verdant Bloom — the power of nature’s heal!”
(Verdant Bloom — a nature healing technique that helps in restoring stamina and soothing pain. The user summons the pure essence of nature, causing a sudden eruption of green blossoms around the wound to heal it.)
Itiwah had mastered some of her moves, but healing power requires a lot of practice, and hence, she was not a perfectionist in healing. Still, this power could provide relief to some extent.
Zevroth realized he had become extremely powerful. He raised his head, and his body started floating in the air. Hijoto had to stop Zevroth at any cost and take the red bangle back.
He shouted:
“Sky Storm Blade — the power of blue!”
(Sky Storm Blade — a wind attack technique in which the user lifts their sword towards the sky, summoning dark clouds, lightning, and furious winds. The user then crosses the sword over their chest and swings it in a wide slash, releasing a giant storm-shaped blade of lightning and wind that bursts out, cutting through the opponent.)
But Zevroth didn’t move an inch. Hijoto was drenched in sweat. Tsangero reached the garden and tried to control her tears for Wahido, but there was no time to cry. Itiwah and Tsangero rushed into the room. Hijoto attempted his most powerful move known to him then:
“Aero Torrent Slash!” he shouted.
(Aero Torrent Slash — a hybrid water and wind attack technique. The user channels wind and water together into their sword, forming a swirling current around the blade. With a powerful slash, the user unleashes a torrent of water wrapped in razor-sharp winds, cutting and crushing everything in its path like a storming tidal wave.)
Again, his attack vanished in the air, leaving Hijoto horrified.
Zevroth was enjoying himself, floating in the air, laughing loudly as if mocking the power of the Watsukais.
Tsangero witnessed Hijoto’s failure at his most powerful move and decided to fight Zevroth. Her bangle glowed yellow with great intensity, as if ready to challenge the red bangle.
“Solar Flare Fang — the power of the sun!” she declared, crossing her hands near her chest.
(Solar Flare Fang — a UV-cellular destruction technique. The user compresses the raw power of the sun’s ultraviolet spectrum into a blinding core of energy. In a sudden circular sweep, they fling their arms open, releasing a radiant surge of UV rays which penetrate deep into the opponent’s skin and cells, burning them from the inside out.)
Zevroth’s skin started burning. He was astounded and realized that Tsangero could fight him. He didn’t know any of her moves until now, and the fire in Tsangero’s eyes terrified him.
Itiwah tried to capture him:
“Venomous Briar Cage — the power of nature!”
(Venomous Briar Cage — a poison-restraining offensive technique that causes thorned vines to erupt from the ground and form a massive spiked cage around the opponent. Each thorn drips with a paralyzing poison that seeps into the victim’s bloodstream, slowly weakening their body.)
He was caught in the cage, but the poison did not affect him. He managed to break the cage and escaped by breaking through the roof of the house. He realized that facing Tsangero without his own moves would be risky. Tsangero tried to chase him, but Wahido’s health was a major concern, so she returned.
Wahido was better than before, though not fully recovered. Inshido and Yushura were soon informed about the incident, and the news began spreading rapidly across the town and country.
Zevroth, 25 years old, had been a sinner since childhood, finding pleasure in wrongdoing and hurting people. He had committed several robberies and murders and had no compassion for anyone, even killing his own parents when they tried to stop him from his crimes. He led a small group of robbers who didn’t know Zevroth was also a murderer. Zevroth killed like a psychopath—his favorite act was crushing people’s eyeballs and watching them suffer in pain. He even killed animals he caught in the street and ate them.
No doubt, a person like him could only be the owner of the red evil bangle. Now that he possessed it, he was unstoppable, and the world was in danger.
Zevroth floated in midair, invigorated by the fact that his life had unexpectedly changed.
“I’ll make every heartbeat a curse.” he declared, bursting into an evil laugh.
