Chapter 28:

The Flame of Valthar

ATHOMIS - A HACKER'S JORNEY INTO ANOTHER WORLD

Valthar, the Kingdom of Eternal Flames, was a realm of fire and ash, where volcanic mountains spewed lava that flowed like rivers of incandescent blood, illuminating the sky with an orange and red glow. The air was thick, heavy with the scent of sulfur and embers, while hot winds carried ash that danced like flaming specters. Giant forges rose among cliffs, their hammering echoing like war drums, and black stone temples, adorned with flaming runes, pulsed with primal energy. The inhabitants—battle-forged human warriors, dwarven smiths, and elemental salamanders—lived for strength and the glory of combat, but the First Great War had left scars: corrupted fissures in the mountains unleashed lava specters, threatening forges and villages. Valthar’s culture exalted raw power, with ritual duels defining leaders, but now the kingdom faced instability, with scarce resources and constant attacks.

Kaelith, the Hero of Valthar, strode along a glowing stone path, his obsidian armor reinforced with fire runes blazing brightly. His red hair billowed like flames, and his golden eyes burned with determination. He wielded the Blade of Wrath, a flaming sword won in the Primordial Forge, its Voracious Flame skill incinerating all in its path. In ATHOMIS, Kaelith was a pure DPS, known for devastating damage builds, obliterating enemies with combos. Here, his strength was legendary, and his tactical mind made him an unstoppable solver of the kingdom’s problems.

In the central village, Kaelith faced a crisis: lava specters, corrupted creatures from the fissures, attacked the forges, melting vital supplies. “Corrupted system, time to clean up,” he muttered, recalling ATHOMIS. With a swing of the Blade of Wrath, he unleashed Wave of Flames, an arc of fire that incinerated a horde of specters in seconds, their molten forms evaporating into smoke. A dwarven smith, Drenvar, with a singed beard and runic hammer, exclaimed, “Kaelith, you’re a living forge!” Sylra, a human warrior with a flaming spear, laughed, “He doesn’t just save the village—he makes it look easy!” Voryn, a salamander elemental with magma skin, hissed, “You’re our guiding flame, but the fissures are worsening.” Kaelith nodded. “I’m going to the source.”

As he crossed the mountains, Kaelith resolved other conflicts with ease. A group of igneous bandits, renegade humans looting caravans, blocked his path. With Ash Barrage, he unleashed a cloud of scalding embers that blinded and burned the enemies, followed by Infernal Strike, a blow that cleaved three bandits in half with a lava explosion. His precision and raw damage were overwhelming, every move calculated to maximize destruction. “Pathetic,” he said, wiping his blade. If I’m to face the Corruptor… and Athos, I need more power.

His thoughts were fixed on Valthar’s guardian, Pyraxor, the flaming dragon protecting the kingdom’s core. Kaelith believed that by usurping Pyraxor’s strength, he could gain the power to defeat the Corruptor—and Athos, whose system mastery irked him. “Athos hacks reality. I burn it,” he thought, a fierce grin spreading. He crossed a blazing gorge, facing more specters. With Firestorm, he conjured a whirlwind of flames that incinerated dozens of enemies, the heat warping the air. My DPS is unmatched, but Pyraxor will be the final test.

Reaching the Igneous Heart, a volcanic cavern where lava pulsed like a living heart, Kaelith felt Pyraxor’s presence. The ground trembled, and the dragon’s roar echoed, promising an epic clash.
