Chapter 16:
TOOI
On a quiet night in cell B, Albert Zhadnost was called by one of the police. "Are you okay?" the officer asked, then Albert said, "Fine, what's wrong?" Then the policeman was one of his soldiers, namely Dorogaya Bima, who was one of his adjutants.
Albert's eyes narrowed, it took him a moment to understand. Bima, one of his trusted men, was now standing before him in a police uniform. There was a worried frown on Bima's forehead.
"Bima?" Albert whispered, unsure if it was real.
Bima nodded. "Yes, sir. I am. I'm sorry you had to be here."
Silence hung between them. Albert, usually calm, felt a pang of surprise. Bima was the man he had trained, the one he trusted with his life on the battlefield.
"What happened?" Albert asked, his voice firmer now. "Why are you here? And why am I being detained?"
Bima looked back, making sure no one was listening. "The situation is more complicated than it seems, sir. There's a lot you're not saying, and there's also a lot the generals don't know."
Albert frowned. "What do you mean?"
"I can't explain everything here," said Bima, pointing towards the dark corridor. "But I came to make sure you're okay. And also, to give you this."
Bima took out a small object from his shirt pocket and quickly handed it to Albert. It was a small memory card.
"The contents of this card are very important, sir. It could change everything," Bima said, his voice low and urgent. "Only you can use it."
Before Albert could ask further, Bima stepped back. "I have to go. Stay safe, sir. And don't trust anyone."
With that, Bima turned and disappeared into the darkness of the corridor, leaving Albert alone in the cold cell, holding the small memory card in his hand, his thoughts racing.
