The dungeon (7)

“Mmm……”

Mahiru slowly opens her eyes. Her skin senses the warmth on her one side of body and cheeks. Still not fully awake. Her face resting on something. She turns her head without lifting her head to make sure the warmth doesn't fade away. She saw a face behind the curtains of her hair. She raises her warm hand and pulls them behind the ears.

Slowly gaining a clean vision of the face while blinking her eyes.

The face turns slightly. The eyes reflect her face. Half of the face was covered by hands.Slightly flushed cheeks. The eyes blinks and he says

“Ar…Are you awake?

Mahir flinches back. It was HIkaru on whose shoulder she was resting her face.

“Ho……howw much time passed? She asks with a guilty expression.

“7 or 8 hours maybe?”

“Soooryyyyy! I am very sorry. You alone were guarding the entrance for straight 8 hours and on top of that I…i…..I was sleeping while taking your support.”

Mhairus stands up. Wipes off the dust from her clothes. Hands hikarau his robe and look around.

“They are still sleeping, don't worry. They didn't saw you”

Hikaru wears his robe. Mahiru, still embarrassed, lost in her own thoughts.

“ I will go and wake them up.”

“Okay”

HIkaru wakes everyone up and calls them in front of the entrance.

“Yu all know what situation we are in. We need to head back up as soon as possible. Don't think that someone will come to rescue you, abandon all the hope you have.”

Mahiru glares at Hikaru.

‘What? That's the truth and you can't change it.” Hikaru whispers towards Mahiru.

"So before we start, is there anyone who caught a cold, is ill or injured?”

No one responded

“Then pick up your stuff. We are leaving this cave.”

Everyone gets their wands, swords, and leaves the cave.

“Which way is the way up sir?” one of the students asked.

“ Don't know. We have to find it.”

“You don't know sir!?” Students repeated his words.

“Do I look like a walking dungeon map to you? Of course I don't. It's not like on the left side on a dungeon floor there is way down and on the right there is way up. We have to find the way to the previous floor.”

After they walked a little they started to notice that the temperature was going down as they went in a particular direction. They kept heading in that direction and found stairs leading them up the floor.

“All this cold clearly says what type of floor is next.I will walk a little ahead from you and check the area first. We have to clear that floor as soon as possible, I don't think that there will be any place where we can rest on that floor in extreme cold.”

They climbed up the stairs. When they reached the next floor Hikaru first did an inspection around the corner. It was all safe, He called others to come up.

Climbing up on all the stairs and stepping on the last one, what came into their field of vision was snow covering the full view. Blizzard slowly fading away in front of their eyes.Their blurry vision slowly introduces them to an area of pure whiteness. Some big trees whose branches were covered in snow.

“Let's go.”

They walked through the tree with their eyes capturing everything that interested them in their way.

After walking for a while their eyes caught a vision of a herd of yaks in front of them in an open field, grazing on the grass. All the students and both Mahiru and Hikaru were still behind the tree observing them.

“Looks like there are 40 to 50 of them” Mahiru points out.

“That's gonna be a lot of work awwww…….. Ready to fight.” Hikaru looks at the students' faces.

They hesitated a little while looking at the yaks.

“Don't worry, I won't let you die. I want an increase in my pay and don't want to lose my job so I will take you all out of here safely.”

All the students stare at Hikaru with their faces saying You only care about money.

“Don't look at me like that. You will handle the ones which get past us.”

Mahiru takes the lead and goes in front, Hikaru follows her from a distance with the students.

Mahiru gets close enough without them noticing. She raises her wand in the air and moves it in a circle and then strikes it towards the ground like cutting someone with a sword.

All the yak gets pressured in the ground. Some got thrust in the ground, some managed to keep standing with their knees bent and some with far greater strength ran out of the effective area and headed towards Mahiru pointing their horns at her.

Hikaru and the students rushed forward to take care of them. Mahiru focuses on the one she is pressuring. She cast another magic which makes dark clouds appear at the top of all the yak in her magic.

Rain started pouring from them, so thin and too fast that they felt like needles shot from guns. The thin drops pierced through the yaks and killed them, Hikaru helped the student kill the other yaks which ran towards Mahiru.

“Sir their skins are used in making clothes right?” one of the students asked.

“Don't even think about it. We have to get out of this flor as soon as possible, lets go”

‘ We have encountered only the yak until now. If i remember correctly the other monsters which are found in snow floors are ice golems, wolves, ice Dren and Dragon though i dont think i will meet any dragon here. I want to meet a dragon, I have never met one till now ahhhhh…..’

Hikaru drops head while walking and continues

‘ Were there any others? I don't remember’

“Sir, why did you say to not hope for someone to rescue us?” Asks Enha

“Let me explain my bad. I forgot it was your first time in the dungeon.First of all we are in a completely different region than our Magic Academy and they don't have any obligations to look after us, so even if we didn't go back to the houses we were provided here no one will care. Second thing, it's completely normal to stay in a dungeon for days .Upper classes than your stay in dungeons for some days to learn to survive there.You will also do that when you head to upper classes. So sir Requs who is taking care of us while we are here will think that way. Thirdly, we can't inform anyone outside what happened to us and we need help. And that's why we can't hope for any help from outside.”

They walked a little. Their sight caught two white things standing afar. Unable to see them clearly they decided to head towards them with caution.

Slowly their eyes started to tell them the appearance of that creature. A white robe, behind that a full body made up of skeletons. At the place of hips his back bone(spinal cord) extended outwards and curled like a sea horse's tail. Three heads, one at the top, one in the middle of the chest and one where the spinal cord extends outward.
