CORPSE

Currently in court, Rukito and his clone (as Charls) are receiving their sentences. The judge announces that the decision has been made and they will receive a death penalty for fraud. They are charged with premeditated murder, the theft of a noble’s identity, and the alteration of official documents, along with utilizing a false identity to gain access to a school. A witness will now be called in to verify Haruki's true identity and may identify him.  

To understand what's going on, I first need to tell you exactly what happened a year ago on the day we killed Charls. To integrate my clone to be Charls, I needed to choose a time when I would be easiest to kill and replace him. He was someone who never cared about a lot of security, as he believed he could deal with anyone that might pose a threat. Out of all the others, he had the least enemies, so choosing to kill him was best. We observed him for two days and found that night was the best time to strike.

I used my clone to create a distraction while I snuck onto the balcony to set up a soundproof barrier before going for the kill. Unknown to me , he was stronger than he looked, giving me less time to get rid of his body. His wife was on her way as I was reading his memories. When I was done, she was almost there, so I had no choice but to hide the body by burying it just outside the balcony. Right as I finished , at the same time, I had my clone shift into the form of Charls just in time before his wife came to join him for a chat.  

From there, you know what happened, but on the side of my clone, things were different. Just learning the memories of a person doesn't mean it's easy to fully take their place and act exactly like them. His wife was probably the first to notice he was different, as his techniques in bed were different. She seemed to like the new moves and ultimately was blinded by most behavior changes. The other nobles never noticed much either, as they personally were not close. It was the actions he made that slowly drew suspicion.

Adopting me was fine at first, but ultimately other small mistakes built up. After a year, when he met Charls' mother, she knew the moment she saw him that he was not her child. She pretended to be fooled, but it was her actions that ultimately got them to investigate and find the small cracks in the disguise. Now, after so long, they even found Charls' real body, solidifying that he was dead and replaced. If I had never acted quickly, this whole mission would have failed. But I was one step ahead, speeding up the process in achieving my goal before everything came to light. Now I may act freely.  

When I woke in the morning for school, we both left as normal. I went to the office, as they had asked, to face punishment for cutting off a teacher's hand and leg. They questioned me about the strange power I had used, but I ultimately convinced most of them that it was a wind blade attack. Just then, they found the body and arrested me on the spot. At this point in time , I had no reason to prove my innocence-or so I thought.

The judge asked the person who came to the witness box, "Miss Carly Grayfield, can you identify the criminal here by his true name?" Rukito is shocked to see his big sister after so long. He never expected to see her here. Just then, she looks into his eyes. He may look different, but she can still feel that it's the same Rukito that she raised from childhood .   

She burst into tears, filled with multiple emotions. She was unable to utter a word. Just then, the prosecutor said, "Your honor, as you can see by the way she acted, it is indeed the same orphan boy she calls Rukito. Once called a genius, but turned mad, wiping out the town they were living in. He even killed Miss Charly's cousin Sayo, who is said to have been the closest to Rukito, other than Charly. It is clear what his motives are now. We speculate he is working with another nation in order to finish what he started. I ask that you allow us to get all the information we need out of him before we kill him."    

They really put all the blame on me that day. How could they! How did they connect me with my former self despite my appearance? Someone here leaked this information , causing big sis to get involved. But big sis knows me; she will believe in me. If anyone, she would have faith in me. After all, it was her who raised me. She knows me well, so she needs to have faith in me. They dare to use her against me. They will pay. Soon this land will belong to me.

"You shouldn't believe the lies they speak. Surely you know that I would never do that. It was Duke Grayfield, your father, who plotted against me because I was too strong. They framed me, forcing me to run away. Big sis, let's go somewhere better, someplace without your monster of a dad. This place is not fit for you." 

Rukito was met with silence; he was waiting for Charly to reply , but when he looked up, the expression on her face said everything. She then responded, "You are not my Rukito; he died a long time ago. You are an imposter in his body. How dare you lie to me!"

Rukito was unable to process the feeling of rejection and betrayal. The one person he believed in called him an imposter. That tells him everything he needs to know. Now filled with the aura of the chaos void mixed with Aether, he breaks free before looking at his big sis one last time and says , "If that's where you stand, I can't do anything about that, but remember what I'm about to do is now on you. I expected trust, but you have eyes and fail to use them."

"On behalf of the elves, as their new king, I, Rukito, declare war!"
