A New World

As I opened my eyes, I was first drawn to the shining metal inches away from my face. "Do not move demon, or I will run my spear through your eye." said the man. As I looked up at him, I noticed that these men were unlike any person I had ever seen before.

They were human enough in appearance, the only notable difference being their skin and eyes. Their skin had a pink and red hue with an almost translucent quality to it, and their eyes were like bright blue sapphires reflecting the odd sunlight.

The man holding the spear inched forward and said "Speak your last words demon, be still and I will make this quick." His face is broad and stern, with a definitive look of authority, his pink hair hangs in tight braids that fall down the back of his head. I remained completely still, afraid for my life and replied "Please I'm not a demon okay, I will do whatever you want just let me live."

"Your blackened hair and skin the color of pale sand say otherwise demon, now prepare yourself." he said while tightening the grip on his spear.

My heart sunk into my chest, could this really be the end? Dropped in the middle of the desert and killed by strange fantasy people? It was at this point that I noticed I was completely naked, the strangely colored sunlight felt hot on my skin and sweat was covering my body. As the man lunged forward, his movements seemed slow. I flinched instincively as the spear neared my eye, bracing for impact. Strangely, the impact was more like an annoying child poking me in the eye and less like the sharp metal spear I saw in front of me. As I opened my eyes, the same spear was now broken, its razor sharp metal tip shattered as if impacting an iron wall. "What sorcery is this?" one of the men cried out. It was then that my instincts told me to flee, and before I could even be aware of it myself, I was running. My pursuers were hot on my trail as I ran into a nearby canyon.
