Chapter 6:

SMELL OF DEATH

Serving the dead in another world

Standing butt naked, he stretched his slender built body. “Ahhhh, that really hits the spot”. His crotch began itching. “This cursed itch, what’s with this guy’s body, damn”.

Scratching his crotch, he noticed the wheel symbol wheel symbol engraved on his upper inner thigh. Tsk!

“Why was it engraved there”. “Well, since I can use it, I’ll give it a try, I’ll probably get an OP skill since I’m a trans migrator”. He smiled .

Making an awkward stance, he stretched forth his arm, then screamed. “Status!”

Nothing happened.😶

“Ehhh… that’s strange, a stats window or wall usually pops up after they say ‘status’. Let’s try a different word”.

“Status Open!” “Properties!” “Magic window!” “Window Open!” “Status wall!”

Still, nothing happened 😑.

Watching everything from a tall tree was a creature that closely resembled a monkey… an alien monkey, it made a mocking gesture and sound towards Clerk.

This infuriated him. Picking up a stone, he threw it at the monkey whom easily dodged it and continued making mocking gestures.

“Get the f**k outta here, stupid b***ard, come on perform magic, let me see”!

The alien monkey turned back, spreading it’s red butt cheeks at Clerk. It really got on Clerk’s nerves. Clerk wanted to leave, but before leaving he turned to the alien monkey and made a f**k gesture.

Seeing his middle finger, the alien monkey immediately felt offended. It started making a howl and screech sound, as if calling on to it’s troop.

Clerk smelt danger. One by one, they started surrounding Clerk from high trees, each one that answered to the call also made the same sound, calling on more troops, their noise began echoing throughout the vast forest. Clerk could only do one thing; ‘RUN’.

The alien monkeys began chasing him, swinging from tree to tree, throwing rocks, twigs, and branches at him, some swung downwards, in attempts to hit him directly, but he dodged them.

The alien moneys kept chasing him for quite a long distance, Clerk on the other hand, began feeling exhausted, his once fast pace slowed down, and his evading skill became blunt. His legs gradually felt numb. His breathing heavier. It was like being consumed slowly by fatigue.

The alien monkey, noticing his exhaustion began swooping downwards, each of them took turns to slap his butt cheeks. Clerk couldn’t do anything but endure and keep running, he knew if he tried to stop the spanking, it will require more energy, and he would probably collapse from exhaustion—not sure of what the those creatures would do to him.

Gradually his eyes became lifeless, he had forgotten that the alien monkeys had stopped chasing him for quite a long time, but he kept running.

 “Whaaa!”

He tripped over a tree’s protruding root, and fell to the ground, unconscious.

Opening his eyes he saw a strange looking bug on his nose. He sat up immediately, swatting it off his nose, gasping like he just had a terrible nightmare, his butt aching like hell. Looking upwards, the day was nearly over. Looking around, he was surrounded by bizarre looking trees, unexplained topographies, floating rocks. In a distance was a tall slender figure that seemed to stretch endlessly into the sky, and so many other things that defy physics. He didn’t see any other living organisms apart from the bug.

Sniff, Sniff,

Just like dog, he caught a scent. It reeked of iron, still fresh but not too fresh; it’s the smell of human blood.

He traced the scent, searching for the source. The smell lead him to a path-way, wide enough to let the one car drive along it. Looking ahead where the smell flowed from, he saw pieces of a carriage. Slowly creeping towards the site, he caught another scent; this one was different, it reeked more of rot than blood, he was sure it wasn’t the rot of a human’s body, it was something far more sinister. His body couldn’t stop shaking. He hesitated for a moment, but he decided to proceed. At least he knew he would get the clothes easily if they were all dead.

The site was really horrible. The area filled with blood stains and puddles, huge claw marks where on the ground and on thick trees, organs laying lifeless everywhere. The head of a full bearded, middle-aged man laid behind the wrecked carriage, one of his eyes missing, while the other popped out of its socket, with its wet tissue strand still attached to it. Next to him laid a man in a prison guard’s uniform, he was ripped in half from the waist, his innards poured out through the cavity, making a wet sloppy sound; his stomach acid had already began dissolving his innards. His other half was over the wrecked carriage.

“They we’re headed for the prison and got attacked, so unlucky”.

A medium sized crater could be seen ahead of the path. “That must have been where the monster landed”. The horses that pulled the carriage, were no where to be seen.

The two remaining bodies in prison guard’s uniform laid together without their heads. “Maybe their head where smashed together”.

Ba-dump

Clerk felt a heartbeat from a tall thick tree just a few meters away from the wreck site. Slowly he approached it. Behind it laid a man on the tree’s roots, curled up with his hands covering his ears, shaking in fear. Clerk tapped him. He jerked up in a blink, pointing a gun at Clerk, with an arm that wouldn’t stop shaking.

Clerk was kindda impressed at how fast he reacted, considering his size and body shape. He was quite short, bald, brow less and had permanent wrinkles on his forehead, and worst of all; he had the look of a scummy traitor. His face especially made Clerk annoyed. The white shirt worn inside with a green vest on it, looked rich with fabric, but they seemed too tight on him, the shirt couldn’t hold back his protruding belly. Beside the tree laid a green long suit with two badges on it, glowing faintly. Clerk wondered what he had done to deserve a gun being pointed at him.

From Scummy’s POV… Clerk, a fully butt-naked man, seemed like a monster in guise of a human. But his appearance wasn’t the only thing that frightened Scummy; it was his smell. He had the same smell as the monster that he encountered. The smell of having lived once before. The smell that only belonged to a grave. The smell of DEATH. With every passing second, Scummy looked more frightened, cold sweat rolled down his bald cheeks, his clothes were drenched in sweat, his breath became more deep and heavy. Clerk opened his mouth…

 Bang!

The sound echoed throughout the nearly-dark forest. Clerk already knew Scummy was likely to shoot. “it won’t be like last time” He dodged the bullet by swiftly going down on all fours, Scummy pointed the gun at his direction about to shoot again.

Twhack!.

Clerk was faster this time. Leaping forward, he precisely struck Scummy on his throat. He fell to the ground hitting his head on the tree’s protruding branch, but he was still conscious, desperately reaching for his revolver.

“What a scum-bag!”

Clerk immediately pounced on him, punching the daylight out of him. Each punch he took made him more and more satisfied, streaks of blood flew out, staining Clerk’s body. He let out a satisfied grin, revealing his fang-like canine.

“Ahh! I guess am lucky,

I finally got clothes… they do need cleaning though, don’t wanna get this geezers sweat on my body”, He said happily, as he unclothed the unconscious Scummy.

KRRREAAUUUGGHHH! . .Hearing the roar, Clerk knew the creature was coming. He had to hurry.

“Uughh!,

his pants smells like pee!”.

 [OBJECTIVE: FIND CLOTHES; COMPLETED].
