Chapter 5:
Losing Tomorrow
CHAPTER 5
Fujio nearly tripped and fell face first onto the road. What was she doing here? Why was she there? How did she know his house? Was she even there for him? Fujio slowly worked up the courage and made his way to the gate. He was trying to get into his house without her noticing, somehow, but obviously that didn’t work.
“Oh hey! It’s you! Sorry for barging in on your private lunch area the other day...”
Her words blended into gibberish. Fujio was too enamored by her even deciding to talk to him. And then he noticed her face and he almost screamed out loud. He had never seen someone and thought “wow, they’re beautiful.” This was a new feeling for him.
“Hello?”
“Ah! Uh... sorry, I was being awkward...” Fujio snapped back to reality.
“HAHA! Don’t worry about that, it’s hard to talk to random girls who approach you in unexpected places”
“Uh... yeah...” Fujio was struggling to process the million different feelings in his heart. His only goal right now was to escape from this situation.
“Hey, so, I was actually try-”
“I’m busy! Why don’t we meet up, u-uh, after school tomorrow! Yeah! Right here, tomorrow! See ya!” Fujio frantically said as he ran away into his room.
He tossed his backpack to the side and jumped into his bed. Staring at the ceiling, he took a deep breath.
“What am I even doing...” Fujio thought, and he could feel his eyes getting heavy and aa tight feeling in his throat.
“I couldn’t-couldn’t even talk to her. I’m hopeless.”
Tears slowly fell down Fujio’s face, and he didn’t bother to wipe them away. He just laid there, for almost an hour, in silence.
