Chapter 4: Getting Started?

“How long are you going to continue this? We should stop.” Alma tiredly expressed.

I wish I had a watch to know how long we have been walking but the sky has gone from bright blue to a red hue.

Please do not tell me, what she was saying earlier is true.

“Please relax Alma, it won’t be for long.” Aide reassured as he always does.

But the way Aide said that… That must mean I will at least see something other than just rocky hills and caves. Some of them did look worn down, so is Alma telling the truth?

Without a phone or headphones to listen to music, I’ve spent a lot more time in my thoughts than I would like to. For some reason, I’ve been blessed with great stamina, maybe has something to do with my past life.

I see a shadowy figure in the far distance, they seem shaped like a human. My eyes regained the light they once had. I couldn’t hide my excitement, the pacing of my steps gradually increased, then I full on sprinted.

“H-hey wait up!”

Alma yelled out as she begrudgingly ran, Aide naturally followed along. Although it was obvious she never ran a day in her life.

“Why did we have to end up with an athlete? Would’ve been easier if we got unlucky with someone who refuses to leave their bed.”

Man, I really need to find a small animal or something to try out whatever power I have. Judging by what Alma said, I may have super physical capabilities. I mean I was a wrestler… forgot to include the fact I was a millionaire from it as well. I can’t wait to suplex my way from rags all the way to riches!

Oh ho, it’s my lucky day, a brown furred rabbit appears in front of my view. Like before, I burst into a sprint.

Before the rabbit can comprehend what is happening, I grab it with both hands grasping each side of its body.

The rocky roads and hills I saw that use to be above me are now below me as we all flew.

At that moment, right before making a landing that would surely cost me and maybe the others their life as well, we hovered a few inches before the ground.

“You all would have been dead without me.”

“You take credit for this but not when you are supposed to be doing your job.”

“Are you still on that?

“Yes, I’m still on that. I feel that I missed out on a lot of crucial information because you wanted to play around.”

I look at her direction, although she is looking away.

“You know looking away doesn’t automatically hinder your hearing.”

“Yes, I played around a lot, and many adventurers lost their lives due to the limited information but at least they are in heaven now!” She said with a smile, once again, plastered on her face.

“That’s not something to smile about! Never mind that, what’s all that noise? I thought we were the only three in the world. No, no, no don’t try to look away again with that face!” I grab Alma by the shoulder with a firm grip.

“A-actually sir, we flew right into the capital city.” Aide spoke up after a period of silence.

“I KNEW ALMA WAS LYING!! DID YOU THINK THIS WAS FUNNY?!”

“Was it not funny?” Alma said with a deadpan face.

“Um hello? You all don’t seem to be from here.”

I cough a few times to clear my throat, time for a grand showing.

“Well, isn’t this a surprise? Never thought the day would come when I would talk to species as highly as you! The strong naturally developed hinds, the agility packed in them! The fastest beings in the world! The cheetahs!”

Heh, now how was that? No matter who or what you are, I will always start off with a promo. It would have been nice if I had some confetti or something to make a grander entrance. Maybe I should ask Alma next time.

“We don’t know him.” Alma and Aide said in unison.

“Hehe what an interesting greeting, my name is Dicra.” She flashed a pure smile with a few hesitant chuckles. “Are you all lo- MEOWWW!!”

Paying her no mind, I grabbed her tail, pulling it in different directions as if it was a jump rope.

“This thing actually real? I thought you were a rich furry.”

“Can you please st- MEOWWW!!”

I pulled her tail one more time just for the heck of it but then..

“ARGHHHHHH!!!”

In a sudden flash, I was electrocuted. Every hair strand from the top of my head stood up like the Eiffel tower. The aftermath left my insides tingling with streaks of lightning flashing around my body like a coat of armor.

“Woah it’s super Saiyan 2 Gohan!” Alma jokingly said.

“WOW THAT WAS COOL! WHAT DO YOU CALL YOUR FINISHER? I WOULD HAVE BEEN OUT FOR A 3 COUNT!” I couldn’t hold in my excitement.

“I’m so sorry! I’m very sensitive there so my magic came out as a reflex.” Dicra profusely apologized.

“No, you are good. More importantly did you mention magic just now? Could you tell me more about that?”

“Let me explain it to you while we walk around the city, I want to get some exercise while treating travelers.”

It’s been a few minutes since we began walking. Everywhere I look, I’ve seen many different types of demi humans and of course regular humans. I guess even in this world, it can’t only be non-humans.

“How is that guy over there shooting fire with a snap of a finger to heat up the meals in his food stall?”

“Also, that girl over there, how is she able to control water and create ice cubes for refreshing drinks?”

I couldn’t stop asking questions, they kept coming out my mouth one after another.

“Well, you see there’s three types of magic: element, summoning and –“

“Woahhhh that dude’s biceps started glowing when he picked up those crates of boxes that looked filled to the brim!”

“That’s the last type of magic, body magic. Element magic is self-explanatory as it deals with having the ability to cast any type of elemental magic you want, such as fire, water, lightning, etc.”

“And summoning magic must be similar to joining forces with a partner for the chance at winning the tag titles.” I nod while saying something profound.

“Um I do not know what that is, but you are right! You do gain a partner, mainly a monster to fight for you.”

“What about body magic? That seems the least fun one, even as a past wrestler, I hope I’m able to shoot out fire balls in a fantasy world.”

“Huh, what was that?” Dicra leaned in closer to hear me.

“Oh nothing.” I don’t know how bad it would be if I said that last part louder.

“Well anyways, body magic is using the energy in your body and focusing it on a targeted muscle group that you are using, whether to attack or lift.”

“I see I see, thank you for explaining all of this. Someone over here gave me the wrong explanation completely. Actually, everything she has told me so far, has been wrong.” I gave a sharp glare to Alma.

“Hehe what’s the fun in giving everything away all in the beginning” Alma tried to playfully get her away out of this.

“The thing is you only told me wrong things!”

“You may have to get used to that sir.” Aide butted in.

“So, if her misinformation could gain critical approval, it would get a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.”

“Why are you trying to say things that only makes sense in your world.” Alma tried to flip this situation on me.

“Tomatoes… rotten? How awful.” Dicra joined in.

“Don’t mind him, its another one of his ramblings, he was dropped on his head.” Of course, Aide had to get one more sentence out.

“Anyways, do you need money? Everyone is staring at you for not having a shirt on.”

Oh. Everything has been chaotic ever since I got here, I didn’t realize I never came with a shirt on.

“Don’t remind that I am poor, my millions….” I couldn’t hold back the tears as I reminisced about the golden couch I would leisurely lay on, it was so soft.

“I will take that as a no. I heard about a mission that has currently been out from a wealthy man. He needs someone to transport a wagon full of banknotes. We’ve recently switched to this type of currency.”

I was expecting the usual gold and silver coins, this is a nice surprise. WAIT A MINUTE, A WAGON FULL OF BANKNOTES???????

“I WILL TAKE THIS MISSION YES A 100 MILLION TIMES YES! NO MORE STANDING AROUND WHERE IS HE LOCATED AT!”

“U-uh he’s located in the heart of the city, that’s where many of the wealthy people stay at.”

“LET’S GO NOW! YOU ARE A CHEETAH, RIGHT? WE CAN RUN THERE!”

I didn’t expect to quickly run into money this fast! If I can help this man out, maybe he will give me a cut of the money! Depending on how wealthy he is, he can give me a huge amount, and it still won’t make a dent in his wealth! Luck is really on my side!
