“Grab my hand!”

Beatrice took my hand as the rest and I got inside a little cave, we were panting over and drinking water, as I look at the rest I sat down and took out from my backpack my drink, I look below us and felt how my legs shake a bit, I smile and lean my head against the wall.

The obelisk this time wasn't on a cave, but at the top of a mountain, we were halfway there, but the way up was rough, until now we have found some issues getting up to the point we were, parts of the mountain had crumbled down, making us almost fall to our death a ton of times.

The one that had a worse time was Beatrice, she is the one with less stamina from the party, and it showed, while the rest already catch their breaths, Beatrice was still taking deep ones, the weather was to die too.

It was sunny, and we were all sweating buckets, I don’t even know how Alexander can climb with that armor of his without getting exhausted.

“Is this some kind of extreme training, Alex?” —I said.

“What do you mean?”

“Your armor… it made me lose my breath when I look at you thinking about climbing the mountain” —Beatrice said.

“Oh, it is fresh as winter inside here”

“Are you kidding me? Even if it is true, how can you climb with that much weight?” —I said.

“Armors are not as heavy as you think”

“NO, I KNOW THAT BUT YOURS IS DEFINITELY HEAVY!” —I said while pointing at him.

“I am fine guys, trust me”

“If you say so, but if you have problems, tell us please” —Elizabeth said.

Alexander nodded and we waited for Beatrice, making her go first.

“If you find a place to stay, make sure to enter”

“Y-Yeah…”

Beatrice didn’t have a good look in her face, Alexander was the next one climbing, then I was next along with Elizabeth. Climbing the mountain was hard work, not only we needed to watch our step and where our hand landed.

The only support we had been our weapons and a dagger, but even for that, sometimes our weapons weren’t as strong to cut inside the mountain, this was way more difficult than in my world, while in there we had equipment for climbing, in this era there was nothing, meaning that if we had a small error, it could cost us our lives.

That’s why Beatrice went first, if something happened to her, we could catch it in a moment, Alexander was second to mark the way in case Beatrice was fall down, Elizabeth and I were just following them around and see if there was any other danger of other ways to rest in case the way ahead was blocked.

We planned this already when we were about to start a few hours ago.

“Did you get all that?” —I asked.

“Yeah, question!” —Alexander raised her hand.

“Yes, Alex”

“It isn’t that I am against Beatrice going up, but I think I can make a better way up than her for my stamina, wouldn’t be the best if she stayed in the middle, I mean, she can fly after all”

“Good observation, but!” —I pointed at Beatrice and she looked the other way around.

“Sorry, for making that spelled it would take me a minute, if I get exhausted the last thing I would be having is energy to recite the words”

“Couldn’t you just make that in the act like Ryu does?” —Elizabeth said.

“No, Ryu can make some spells without reciting them but that is his ability and those are just normal spells, floating is not an easy spelled for that it needs to be casted down”

“I see, sorry for that, don’t worry, Beatrice, if you fall down for your inevitable dead, I will make sure to catch you”

“T-Thanks… I guess…”

“Then let’s go!”

I said as Beatrice started climbing down, I laughed remembering that and Elizabeth saw me.

“Thinking about something funny?”

“Just the moment we had a few hours ago”

Elizabeth stopped for a few seconds making her eyes go up for a bit, thinking about what happened and then she laughed.

“It was hilarious, good thing we came with this plan”

Out of nowhere a scream could be heard and stopped immediately, Beatrice tripped with one stone and Alexander caught her, she was balancing with a face that made her see the deepest horrors of earth, we all laughed while she cried, Alexander carried her be in his back.

“That works too”

“This is embarrassing! I don’t want to be in the way…”

“We are a team, Beatrice, you are not in anyone’s way”

Alexander said that, and Beatrice just looked down as she nodded slightly.

“Yeah, that is our cute Beatrice, we could never make her be in our way, she is our way!”

“Beatrice is the best party member we can cave so we can’t just leave her to die”

“SHUT UP!”

Elizabeth and I teased Beatrice as we went up the mountain, we saw how Alexander got up in a place where he could rest, Elizabeth and I climbed a little faster and we managed to get in the same.

“Are you okay, Beatrice?”

Elizabeth started seeing and touching around Beatrice’s head, arms, chest, back, and around her feet.

“I’m okay, thanks…”

“Does anything hurt?”

I said as I drank some water.

“I am really fine, guys, sorry to make you worry”

Beatrice looked up, putting his hand on his forehead to see how much it was left.

“We almost reached the peak; I think I can go on my own until the end”

“Are you sure? I don’t mind having you in my back”

“It’s okay, thank you, Alexander”

Beatrice got up and took some air, we rested for a bit and then we went to climb again, as we got up, we started to notice a ton of spells being cast, quick spells.

“What is happening? ALEXANDER!”

I shouted and Alexander took one insect and blasted it in his hand.

“SCORPIONS!”

“Scorpions?”

I saw how Beatrice started to float and then she was casting a spell, she had a scary face and we were watching her, the last thing she said was.

“HELLFIRE!”

A giant blaze was being shot from the hand of Beatrice, making a ton of scorpions fall down cooked, then after that she made a water spell, making a giant smoke screen and then a wind spell, making all the smoke go away

“Can you watch me, guys?”

Beatrice was losing altitude, Elizabeth took his spear and got up to, catching Beatrice but falling down, hanging from her spear while having Beatrice in his back.

“You have enough energy to grab me?”

“Yeah…”

We all sighed and went up to the mountain, we reached the peak and we all sit down catching our breath, we checked on everyone, even in Alex to see if any of us didn’t have any points from the scorpions, we were all good and, in the middle, we saw the obelisk.

“Our leader is almost dead from climbing this mountain, we were having a blast, just the three of us, I don’t even know what he was searching for in this place… Leader here, after recovering the reason why I want it to come here, was because of the view, I wanted to visit this place since I was a kid, and now I finally can see the view, there is no other reason aside from this, my journey for my search still continues, but I don't mind if this takes longer than I was previously planning”

“This is one of the longer ones, and we confirmed that this person is male… quite disappointed” —Elizabeth said

After rereading the message, we started laughing. The scene was so similar that we couldn’t help but laugh.

“This person is trying to reach a way of this world too; I think I forgot to mention it”

“It was quite obvious after the talk we had” —Beatrice said.

Alexander nodded along with Elizabeth. Alexander was writing down the obelisk in his notes and when we finished, we saw the view. It was great, like being at the top of the castle and seeing an entire kingdom, we could even see the ocean from far away.

“This is the reward, just admiring our hard work until now, let’s keep up the good work, Alexander, Beatrice, Elizabeth”

A big “YES” was heard and we all took a deep breath.

“How do we go down now?”

“Good question…”

We saw below us and we all took a step down and saw Beatrice.

“Why are you looking at me? I don’t have any spelled that make us go down”

“But you know one that can make you float”

“You guys are going to drain my mana, right?”

We all nodded and Beatrice laughed awkwardly
