The dungeon (11)

A voice to sooth their ears traveled to them. Calm and high pitched.Making their feet move on their own. Commanding them to come to see the beauty from whose mouth it escaped. Giving them goosebumps and chill which felt more relaxing.But it was only affecting the boys.

“Who's humming?” one curious girl asked.

“ It feels good listening to it.” another elf girl said.

The boys walk on the rhythm of that hum.A display of perfect coordination of the humming and their walk unfold in front of the girls.

“Where are you going?” Enha asked

“It's the Mermaid,” Mahiru pointed out.

“So she is hypnotising all the males here, we should stop all the boys,” asked Enha.

“Meramids are not that dangerous though. But ya they hypnotise the man pretty quickly some can resist if they are strong enough but not many are found like them” said Mahiru.

“Are they seducing them?” asks Mai

“Eh..Not seducing but ... .attracting…them…..”

Mai raises an eyebrow.

“Yup its seduction”

“And they are getting seduced?”

“Yes.”

“Then it's not our problem”

“Where is sir?” Enha asked.

Mai snaps her head towards all of the boys walking on the rhythm. She didn't find Hikaru.

“Sir isn't with them, where did he go?” Asked Mai

Everyone looked at the boys to confirm it.

“Did sir fall in the water?” one of the female students leans and peaks in the water. Every girl present there joins her and stares in the water.

“What are you looking for?” Hikaru whispers in Enha’s ear.

“Didn't you hear it? We are looking for sir.”

“Ah, is that so?”

“Yes it is.” she turned while saying.

Hikaru was sitting beside her, a gap of 10 fingers between their faces. Slightly tilted head and eyes reflecting her own image. She finches. Almost about to fall in the water. Hikaru grips her by the waist and pulls her back towards him.

Those 10 fingers gap reduced to 5. Enha too shocked to even move her eyes away from HIkarus' face.

“Are you okay?”

“Where did you vanish?” asked Mahiru.

Hikaru releases Enha. Her heart was beating like crazy. Hikaru's words are still repeating in her ears and eyes subconsciously following him.

“I forgot my bracelet near the waterfall so I rushed back there.”

Mai snaps back Enha out of her own world by shaking her.

"What are you spacing out for?”

“Sir is handsome”

“Eh?”

“Lucky you.”

“Hey! Sir is older than you, you know that right?

“Just 2 years of gap is nothing. I am not trying to date sir, though i dont mind it”

“Stop your thoughts from running wild.”

‘Ara Ara is somebody jealous?" Enha gave Mai a smug look.

“In your wild dreams.”

Hikaru was telling Mahiru about Michi.

“When I was coming back I saw MIchi under the tree so I went to say goodbye. She did let me come for a few minutes but after some time finally she gave up and flew somewhere and came back with this flower.”

Hikaru pulls out a half purple and half green flower from his robes pocket.

“What is it called?”asked Hikaru.

“You don't know sir?’ asked one of the elf girls.

“Out of my field of teaching, How can I know? You have separate classes for plants and dungeon items. I know about its effect and uses. "

“It's the Lepli flower.” answered Enha.

“Ya Lepli flower Thanks!”

Enha smiles. Mai elbows her in the stomach.

“If we add some water and its petals and mix it with the queen's bone it will provide a temporary resistance against magic spells. And if we add some mermaid tears and its petals then sprinkle it on wounds it can heal them. Simply drinking it without anything other than water and its petals can give a temporary physical boost.”

“Then we can heal your wounds with it!” suggested Mai.

“I think it's better not to use it on me for now. We still have to defeat that griffina and vega. And if someone gets a fatal wound during that time it will be very helpful and not to mention we need some mermaid tears for the healing potion.”

“Right.” said Mahiru

By the way, where are the boys? I don't see any one of them here.”

“Oh shit!”

Everyone looks around to find them, Mahiru spots them walking through a small room on the paths above the water.

“there they are,” Mahiru pointed with her finger.

“Why are they wandering off on their own?”

All of them run toward them to wake them up.

“They are being controlled by the mermaid singing.”

“Huh?” Hikaru puts his hands around the ears and tries to hear the mermaid singing.

‘I don't hear any thing”

“May be they lowered their voice a little”

They catch up to the boys. They were in a small room covered by walls on the side. Skeleton of humans on the ground and some back packs were scattered in the room . Hikaru gives them a little electric shock to break the hypnosis. The singing of mermaids also stopped at the same time.Hikaru didn't get to hear it.

“What happened? “

“Just you getting hypnotized my boys” Hikaru replies

“By whom?”

‘A mermaid.”

They look around.

“There isn't any.”

“Want us to drag your bodies to her?” Mai replies in a menacing aura.

“No thanks”

"Why not?” said Hikaru.

“Sir why?”asks Mai

“Because I want to meet one.”

“You have never seen one?”

“I did but I want to see her again.”

“We can't put our students in danger!” Yelled Mahiru

‘They are not that dangerous and we will also be there to keep an eye on our students it will not be a problem and we also need that”

“Okay” Mahiru gave up because there was much to gain with a little risk.

“Now get back your brain to track before we start looking for the mermaid boys” Said Hikaru

Everyone realizes the type of room they are in and gets terrified a little.

“Oh i forgot it's your first time seeing a scene like this. The bones withered a little so these are very old skeletons.”

HIkaru eyes fall upon the backpacks. He looks inside them

Two bones of the queen of ice, a jar of a liquid, some gold coins and a few other things. Hikaru takes out the jar of liquid and the bones.

" There is a thing called luck Huh?” Hikaru looks around if any of the students or Mahiru saw him.

‘ I am still not sure if the liquid is mermaid tears or not.Lets open it and see’

When something is filled with mermaid tears in a closed vessel and opened after some time a spooky voice can be heard from the vessel if listened closely.

Hikaru opens the jar and places his ears near the opening. He could hear the spooky voice. He closed the jar and put it in his pocket.

“Did you find something?” Asked Mahiru

Hikaru startled and jumped up.

“Ya, these”

He shows her the 2 bones.

“That's a good thing, we can at least make one thing with it. Now if we only found the mermaid tears.”

“Ahhh…..Yeah let's go and find the Mermaid “

Hikaru eagerly wanted to see a Mermaid again.
