The dungeon (12)

All of them were walking on the paths above the water searching for the Mermaids.

“Sir, why is she singing “

“I told her to do so, any problem with that?”

“Can you talk with her?”

“Ofcourse not you idiot!!”

“Then why did you said that”

“Because I mistakenly thought that you have a Thimphu called brain.”

“I do have that, you are not wrong………..so where is the mermaid”

Hikaru snapped. “sitting on my head!”

Hikaru looks at the water to calm down. Takes a deep breath,

“I am starting to regret it.”

“We told you sir. All of…….Most of the males are perverts.” says Mai.

“How are we gonna find the mermaid tears sir?”

“I taught you all in the class,” said Mahir.

“I just wanted to confirm if I remembered it right.”

“So what do you remember?” asked Hikaru

“I remember that the mermaid tears and water are immiscible so they are easy to spot.”

“You did teach your students very well, Mahiru. And students also paid attention huh? Good work Enha.”

“Hehe” Enha smiles while facing Mai.

“So where can you find them, Enha?”

“Ah ... .At the top.”

“And why is that?”

“.............” Enha forgot it.

“Because their density is low.” replies Mai.

“Good job remembering it Mai”

Mai smiles by bringing her face in front of Enha.

“Ya so we are gonna look for them at the surface of the water.” Said Mahiru.

They walked on the path without any clue of where to find the Mermaid until the humming started again.

“Oh! She is going to sing again. Boy you better close your ears.” Said Hikaru.

"Don't you need to cover your ears?” asked Mahiru

‘No, I am pretty much immune to their siren song.”

The heads toward the direction of the humming. After walking through a wall which was dividing the room, they saw a mermaid.

Sitting on top of a platform which was the roof of a room submerged under water. A Mermaid runs her seemingly delicate fingers through her light blue hair which reaches up to her belly button and covers it. Eyes of same colours and 3 gills on each side of the neck angled 30 degree downwards.she was in her human form with opaque scales covering her lower body.Another one in the water beside her with her mermaid tail which you can see splashing the water slowly.

Their humming stops and they start singing their siren song.Boys still plug their ears with their fingers. Nobody interprets them, all eyes on their beautiful gestures and ears on their voice, except Hikaru.

He was bored and he didn't want to hear their siren song after a few minutes. His attention switched to the boys who were staring at the mermaid. He chuckles when his mind gives him an idea.

“Very good but now can stop” Hikaru claps his hand and distracts the mermaids.

They scream at Hikaru and vanish in the water. The eyes of boys which were admiring their beauty now were scared to meet them again.

“Hikaru, why did you do that?” Mahiru asked.

‘We can't keep wasting time we have to go now”

‘But what about the tears?”

‘Oh!..forgot to tell you I found them in the backpacks earlier.” Hikaru pulls out the jar and shows them.

“Huh?..Then why did you agree to search for Mermaids, you could have told us that you found it.”

“I just wanted to see the mermaid again, but I remembered one thing that their siren song haunts me at night in dreams so I didn't want to hear or see them anymore. Now let's go.”

“Sir, you are selfish.” says the boys.

‘Did I ever hide it ?”

“Sadly no”

“then it's fine.”

“It's not!! “ Mahiru scolds him.

“Did you check that these are mermaid tears, sir?” asked Enha while looking at the jar.

“Yes I did. Now let's go and search for the way to the next floor.”

“Isn't it weird to call it the way to the next floor when we are going to the previous one.”

“It doesn't matter now move your legs i will not say it again”

Everyone starts the search for the way to the next floor. After finding it they go to the next floor.

Fight, protect,eat,sleep,wake up and head to the next floor.That's how their time went for the next floors.Hikaru was still recovering slowly, he slowly started to help in fights. Nothing major happened nor did they find the vega until they reached the 2nd floor of the dungeon which they half cleared before the fight with griffin and vega. After clearing 3 floors in a day without any rest their legs were about to give up but the hope provided them energy.

“It's the second floor!” exclaimed the students.

The second floor was designed as a castle floor with a lot of rooms there, it was built differently from other floors so they easily figured out that it was the second floor.

:Rumble….: :Screecchhh: :Hisssssssssss:

The upper floor was shaking and the cry of the griffin was echoing on the 2nd floor.

“Sir it's the griffin's and Vega’s voice!” The elf boy said in a timorous voice.

“We have to go up. We can't stay here while hoping that they will not come this way.”

There were no monsters in their way on the 2nd floor. The only ones to be found were dead.

As they kept getting closer to the stairway to the 1st floor the noises got louder.

They started walking up the stairs. Uneasiness started to cloud the heart of students. The turmoil made their hearts beat even faster. The fear of the unknown started panicking them as they heard the noises of two creatures. The courage to put their foot on the next stair started to crumble.

They were walking closer than normally, Mahiru in front and Hikaru at back. They reached the last few steps. Ears only fixated on the loud noise. Eyes widening with every step closer to the last turn.

As they turns and steps on the last stair

They were greeted by the havoc caused by two monsters.
