Chapter 2:

The monster of the lake

The water is deep, but so is mystery

"Name's Jacob, pleased to meet you," He says, holding out his hand. I shook it; his hands were strong, but they weren't used, like others from around here. "I have to go home now, but I'm at the big lake house if you wanna stop by," I say, smiling. It has been years since someone other than me has come to the lake house; it would be a relief not to be alone in there for even 3 minutes. "Sure, I'll see if I can come for dinner, if that's fine," He says, a shy smile crossing his face. "That would be amazing, just remember to change clothes, or you will stink up the house." I tease, that's when I see a black and yellow snake on the ground, I let out a scream and jump on Jacob's knee, which made both of us fall. " ew ew ew ewwwwwwww, it's a snake." I yell, grabbing a knife out of my pocket. I tried to stab it, but the second it lunged at me, I ran away. "Bye, I'll see you tonight," I say, before running over the hill and away from the snake.
