Chapter 4:
The Reincarnation of the Puppet
‘This is it.’ Ningyo thought to himself and then picked it, it was a knife made up of obsidian.
He carefully placed the knife in his jacket that he wore, somewhere it was not visible and will not be felt by the security while they checked.
Then he took a deep breath before covering the open grave with dirt and whispered to the grave with a very serious and cold look on his face,“I will avenge you all.”
Then he went to the 2 people who escorted him and told to them, “I have a small request!”
They looked at Ningyo and asked, “what is it?”
“I want to look around the town for a while, you can take it as my last request to Lord Kyo,
(In a very sad tone)
Please I beg you”
They looked Ningyo with a little sympathy in their eyes,
(As Ningyo was still a 13 years old kid for them)
They Allowed it,
Then Ningyo watched around like he was scanning the area , then after that he slowly started walking towards the exit ,
Once he crossed the exit he saw that the car was parked near the exit as he saw the car he slowly made his way towards it while continuing to scan the area just when he reached the car he stopped as the driver was still there, he then became cautious as he didn’t want to get caught, so he hid in the narrow ally which was in front of the exit when the driver was distracted,
Then he waited in the ally for the perfect opportunity and when the driver went somewhere,
He didn’t waste a single second and went near the car and fixed his knife beneath the car, and then quickly went back in to the ally and waited patiently,
Then after a while the driver came back he searched his surrounding very cautiously and when he found nothing he went inside the car.
Ningyo Gave a sigh of relief and went into the town.
(It was a beautiful town where houses were old designed and there were farms were only a few people were working, there were very less people who lived there.)
Ningyo went deep into the ally and it sent him directly to the main road, he looked as if he was finding something,
He went on the road until he came across an old building that was now closed I looked like it went up flames
The name plate said, ‘The bright light orphanage’.
‘ So this is were I was before I went to that wicked place’,Ningyo thought in his mind as he remembered everything.
I was dropped at this orphanage when I was 3 years old, they say I was dropped at night as I was an unwanted thing to them,
The orphanage had 100 kids, we were not given names but were given number the first child that came was called 00, the last one was named a 100,
I was number 069.
I have vague memories of the time I spent here at this orphanage, but I remember when I was 6 years old I along with others were taken somewhere, no one remembered how and when we were taken there,
That place was large with white walls and there were people wearing white coat and a mask, the place had an eerie vibe to it and the silence there was haunting, the people in masks never talked to us they just came and gave us commands.
At that place they educated us, and assigned us ranking based on our performance, that felt like a little competition between kids, little did we know that competition was not to find the best, but was to find the perfect weapon.
The number 001 the first one was the oldest of all of us and was best at everything, he was like an ace of the lab, on the other hand I number 069 was the worst at everything we were like polar opposites,
He was bright, brave and always had a smile on his face, where as I was a scared boy, gloomy and bad at everything I did,
I always looked up to him he was like a hero not just to me but to all of us there, he gave us strength.
But after 4 years of education and training, they gave us what they called ‘the final ranking’ I somehow was able to be on rank 75 which has never happen before I felt an emotion inside of me it was warm maybe that is what people call happiness but it didn’t last long…
