Chapter 3:

The journey to the past

The Reincarnation of the Puppet

When Ningyo saw his room he saw a big cardboard box on his bed,

Which were his only belongings.

After seeing the box Ningyo felt a mix of relief and sadness at the same time.

Then he quickly opened the box there were 99 items in it, in total.

Then he gave a sigh of relief.

Then he thinks to himself,

‘At least I can complete my promise to all of them now,

Now I have to fulfil the promise before Mr Reaper's makes a move.’

The next day,

(A knock on the door)

A man opens the door, he was Kyo Minamoto who opened the door, in front of the door was standing Ningyo.

Kyo with a puzzled look said “Come inside.”

(The room was like a library with selves full of books and a table and chair in the corner,

The table had an old book opened it had torn up pages like it was very old)

Then kyo sat on the chair and then asked Ningyo

“So why did you came here so early in the morning?”

(With a deep breath)

“Sir do you remember the PROMISE You made?”

(Kyo had an expression as he remembered something.)

“I remember .”

“So can I please make a request,

I want to go there today.”

“I see”

Then Kyo made the necessary arrangements, and Allotted a driver to escort Ningyo to the dark mountain ( named so because the mountain is covered with thick trees that make it hard for the light to touch the surface) of the which was situated near the country side.(it is the mountain near the biggest graveyard of the country)

After the preparations were made, The driver asked Ningyo to get in the car and told him the box (the same box in which Ningyo’s belongings were there) is kept in the back as asked by lord Minamoto.

Then the journey started it was a 4 hour long trip, it was early in the morning so there was very less traffic to no traffic on the road.

For the whole journey it was just silence neither Ningyo nor the driver spoke anything.

The whole time Ningyo looked outside the window not for the scenery but to distract himself from the memories that were flooding back to him.

After 4 hours they reached the destination the driver parked the car near the graveyard,

(The graveyard had an eerie feeling to it and it had dead trees countless crows, and other scavengers roaming around it but they were all silent and just observing,

Whenever someone goes inside the graveyard they always get a feeling as if someone is following or watching them from a far)

When Ningyo came out of the car there were already two man waiting for him,

They asked Ningyo, “Are you the one Lord Minamoto sent here?”

Ningyo replied with a nod,

“Then follow us.”

Then Ningyo started following them they walked a for a few minutes crossing countless graves as they walked some graves broken, some covered in moss, some fresh or new.

After a few minutes they stopped and said to Ningyo,(while pointing towards a blank stone made for grave with a hole dug in front of it)

“This is the one, you can burry the things here ok,

But remember you cannot write even a single name and no symbol shall be used on the stone.

You got it?”

“Got it, sir” Ningyo replied.

(The grave was near a big tree that looked very old and scary)

Then Ningyo took all the items from box and started keeping all the things one by one very gently and with a lot of caution, he whispered a name with each belongings he placed,

The two men who were escorting him left him alone, to give him time so that he could say proper goodbye to the past memories.

When Ningyo reached the 99th belonging he froze for a while and just stared the badge ( it was an old badge one that is used on the army uniforms, it was old and rusty.)

Then he placed the badge very carefully while remembering the face of a guy with a very bright smile, one who smiled no matter how hard things were, the one who gave strength to everyone around him, the most kind person Ningyo has ever known.

The whispered his name, “Yusha”

Then he just sat there for a while and stared at the blank stone.

Then he remembered something and he immediately goes to the grave on the left and before doing anything he just he looks around very carefully and when he thought made sure no was watching him he went to the next grave,

It also didn’t had a name and covered in thick grass unlike any other grave, then he touched the ground beneath the grass and he found something, something hard as a rock but smooth like diamond,

‘This is it.’ Ningyo thought to himself and then picked it, it was a knife made up of obsidian.
