Chapter 53:
The Devourer of Destiny
The stuffy Purgatory Cage changed the little atmosphere that existed. The prisoners who were thought to be unable to fight back were, in fact, easily killing the gods.
"You are just a speck of light. Zia... you are no match for me." His heavy voice echoed, making the ears of those who heard it ring for a moment.Mahendra supported Zia's staggering body, holding his shoulders to keep him standing upright. Then he gave a small smile and whispered very slowly.
"Rather than being a god who is not a true god, it is better for you to kneel before me," he said."Never!" Zia shouted, flatly refusing the offer.
"Oh." This was his only reply after a brief conversation with an old friend.Mahendra withdrew his hand and let Zia's body fall—lying face down on the floor, gasping for breath. Blood pooled from the gaping wound in his stomach. Instead of creating a new pattern, the floor was just dirty again with blood. But this time, it wasn't Mahendra's blood, but the blood of a god.Without diminishing the upturned corners of his mouth, Mahendra's blooming smile then looked at his stained fist. He then licked a little of the sticky liquid from it.
Then he said, "There's no difference from a human.""You... where are you going?!" With the last of his consciousness, Zia asked. He seemed to want to get up, but what could he do? He didn't have any strength because his wound was quite fatal.
"Where? Well, of course I'm going to stir up some trouble."After answering, Mahendra then ran away, leaving the Purgatory Cage.
A dark sky full of stars and clouds stretched out before his eyes. He spread both his arms while inhaling the fresh air that had a faint scent of flowers. Briefly enjoying this beautiful view, he let out a long sigh, feeling very relieved."Who do you think I am? Someone who is easily confined without a fight? Ah, no... I did fight for a moment but that was just a pretense."
Time felt so very short. Mahendra hurried towards the main hall. That's where the highest gods were, who seemed to still be very busy chatting with each other."Good evening!"
Black lightning appeared in various corners after the greeting was heard from the door. Instantly, several gods in the room became alert."This aura... Devourer Destiny!" exclaimed the God Morpheus.
"What?! Isn't he locked up?" One of the highest gods, the God of Lightning, was very shocked."It's strange to remember. We knew when we saw him, he was really weak."
"I knew he was going to cause trouble," said the Goddess Panacea."What is this? Did you all know he could escape?"
"No, we didn't know it would turn out this way. We just had a slight suspicion that he had a plan.""That's right!" retorted Mahendra, who suddenly appeared from behind Panacea.
Their attention then focused on the area behind Panacea, but the figure who had just spoken now disappeared in a flash. The lamp in the room was shattered; every light, no matter how small, was immediately eliminated. It made the main hall completely dark, but the God of Lightning was not deterred. He unleashed his lightning power like light, illuminating part of the room.
"I can't believe you're using this cunning trick, Devourer Destiny!"The God of Lightning immediately found the last trace of the black lightning. He immediately lunged towards it and tried to catch it.
Intending to block his movement, the God Morpheus used the Silver Thread of Stars. The silvery light from his taut threads almost filled the entire room. However, several strands of thread gathered densely in the black lightning there."Morpheus, I'm not mistaken, are you using this thread again?"
But, unfortunately, the black lightning was just a ruse. Mahendra appeared right next to the unsuspecting Goddess Panacea. With a single flick, a fire blazed, burning the goddess's hair."Aahhhh!" The Goddess Panacea screamed. She felt so much pain, especially since her plant tendrils were difficult to use due to the unusual fire that was attacking her.
"Goddess... you have a power that is detrimental to me, so I won't hesitate to finish you first."The remaining Silver Threads of Stars around were not destroyed. The God Morpheus used them to tie Mahendra's wrists, legs, and neck. Mahendra's movement was only stopped for a moment, and the God of Lightning, without delaying any longer, immediately attacked him with a powerful and lightning-fast punch.
A very hard blow landed on his face. Mahendra's body was pushed back until it hit the wall inside the room. The punch felt painful enough to make his whole body shiver."Three against one is still hard." Mahendra mumbled softly while wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth.
To counter the God of Lightning's attack, he punched him with all his might without any magical power. To counter the God Morpheus's attack, he froze his own blood and made it similar to the silver threads. It was just that Mahendra's was slightly different, the blood that was made into a long and slightly thick weapon—at a glance, it looked like a smaller version of a spear—appeared from all directions and was aimed at Morpheus alone.
At that moment, the Goddess Panacea was still busy putting out the fire on her hair. At least she managed to survive even though her life was on the brink right now. Wandering aimlessly, she healed herself little by little. Then she approached Mahendra from behind, quietly. The clouds rumbled. The sky had no clear changes. A spatial portal appeared right above Mahendra's head. A moment later, someone emerged from inside and accidentally stepped on Panacea's back.
"Oops, I stepped on something," Azazel said cheerfully."You despicable humans!" shouted the God of Lightning.
As he usually did, but this time he struck the ground with his lightning. The main hall shook violently as if an earthquake was happening on the land, as a result, the main hall was split into two and made everyone there lose their balance.Including Azazel, and the Immortal Warrior who had just arrived.
"Hey, kid! Where are the others?" Azazel asked."Who are you talking about?" Mahendra asked back.
The main hall had lost its foundation. The sturdy walls and floor were made a mess. The building's pillars that supported the building had also become ruins. As soon as the main hall was completely destroyed, the vast sky stretched out before them."Hey, do you seriously need our help?" asked Nephilim, who had just jumped down from the sky.
"Don't be a hypocrite! You also came, didn't you, White Knight?" retorted Azazel.Nephilim let out a short sigh and looked away when Azazel talked to him.
"No need to think about whether Devourer Destiny needs our help or not. After all, we all came to liven up the atmosphere!" said the Wandering King, who felt very happy today.
