Chapter 1:
A Journey of True Love Under a Cherry Tree
It has been ten years since the Goddess Solaria sacrifice herself to take away the two kingdoms magic to end the war. This should have brought peace between the two kingdoms, but it only caused more violence and more losses to spread across the world where war and hatred continued among the kingdoms. The kingdom of Earthnia tried protecting the young princess of having the goddess’s magic, so it cannot be used in evil’s hands. This secret was not kept long since the rumor was spread all over the kingdoms, so Earthnia decided to keep their princess from the world until she was ready to use her magic.
Even though war has spread all across the world, it did not stop Earthnia to celebrate Princess Silva’s tenth birthday. Busy workers are busy setting up for this very special birthday which would be held later on in the afternoon. As this was going on, Princess Silva was getting ready for her birthday, she may have been brought up as a young lady to be married one day, but she can have her tomboy rebellious moments.
“I cannot take this any longer, come on Rajah let’s go,” Silva yells as she is running out of her room.
“Right my lady,” Rajah said running beside her.
“Princess! Princess! Where are you going, you have to get ready for the party?” her maid yells chasing after Silva.
“No thank you, I am not staying here a moment longer, come on Rajah we are almost at the wall hurry up,” Silva said running with her dog.
“Yes, my lady,” Rajah replied as they continued to the wall.
“Guards after them!” the maid ordered.
Silva and Rajah continued to run all over the palace causing mayhem, but she did not care since she was having fun for the first time in her life. She did not have an awful life since she was training with her brothers in combat and weaponry, but what Silva wanted the most to be free and have fun like the other children she saw in the city.
Silva and Rajah continued running as they head for the wall ready to jump.
“My lady, jump on my back,” Rajah called out.
“No, I am fine, ready one, two, three,” Silva shouted as the jumped over the wall and in mid air Rajah caught the princess.
They both landed safely in Cherry Apple Forest located just outside of the palace.
“Ah…Rajah this feels so good, it is nice to breathe natural air,” Silva said as she was breathing the air in.
“My lady, but we have clean air back at the palace why don’t we return to it,” Rajah suggested.
“No, Rajah, that air is polluted with the scent of war and I cannot breath it any longer, so in the mean time let’s have some fun while we can,” Silva ordered.
“Yes, my lady,” Rajah said agreeing with her.
The two began walking around the forest picking as many cherries and apples they can find before it became dark. In over an hour they gathered a basket full of apples and cherries and decided to enjoy them under their favorite tree overlooking the sky.
As they were eating, Silva spotted a juicy apple nearby and decides she wants to pick it.
“Rajah, stay here, I am going to climb that tree over there to get the apple, you can stay here as you wish,” Silva said asking permission.
“Alright my lady, please be careful, I will stay here and watch,” Rajah offered as he rested under a tree.
Silva made her way towards the tree, but little did she know that the tree was going to be taller than any tree she climbed before. She may be young, but she always loved a challenge and her challenge this time was climbing the tree and getting the apple. As she began climbing the tree, it was hard at first, but once she got her footing she was fine. She climbed and climbed until she reached the branch with the apple, so she slowly crawled on the branch to reach the apple.
She was about to grab hold of the apple, an arrow speeded right passed her and hit the apple making it land on the ground. Then she quickly climbed down the tree and saw the apple and the arrow left there for her to see. Silva picked it up and ran to show to Rajah.
“Rajah! Rajah!” Silva yelled running towards Rajah.
“What is wrong princess?” Rajah asked with worry.
“Hurry Rajah, we do not have much time, I think we are not alone here, quickly try to get the scent of this arrow, so we can return it to the owner,” Silva suggested.
“My lady, it might be dangerous what if this stranger is here to kill you, we should return home before it gets too late,” Rajah said concern.
“I could care less about some party and it will start without me. Now I want to find this person and return this arrow to the owner. As your princess and my birthday, I order you to find this person at once,” Silva commanded.
“Very well, my lady, let me smell the arrow,” he said surrendering to Silva.
“Thank you,” Silva said happy Rajah agreed with her.
Rajah took a few minutes to sniff the arrow and finally caught the scent.
“I have the scent, climb on my back,” Rajah said ready to run.
“Alright, let’s have some fun,” Silva said as she climbed on Rajah’s back.
Rajah began running through the forest following the scent and came across an open meadow. They came to a sudden stop behind some bushes spying on the person they were trying to find. They stood there watching this person practicing archery and the princess felt she was falling in love with this stranger and she wanted to know more about him.
Not only she was falling in love with him, but she was also impressed with his skills with a bow. As she was trying to get closer to see this boy, Silva blew their cover by moving the bushes and he sent an arrow towards their way.
“Hey, watch it,” Silva yelled coming out of the bushes.
“I am sorry, but I knew you were there the entire time, I have the ability to sense people. I launched that arrow towards you to get out of hiding. So, tell me why is a princess doing here alone,” the boy asked.
“I am not alone, I have Rajah with me and I do not have to answer to you in that matter, but if you must know today is my birthday. I came here today to have some fun and to pick some cherries and apples. Which reminds me that apple is mine,” Silva explained pissed off.
“Oh, this is yours sorry, I took a bite on it, sorry,” the boy said.
“You sure are cruel, what are you doing here anyways this forest belongs to my family?” Silva asked wondering more about this boy.
“I came here to see the beauty of this place and to get away from the war scene.”
“I feel the same way. This war began because everyone wants more power to gain the upper hand against each other. I cannot wait to get out of here and be able to see the world.”
“I agree with you I do not like the scene of war it took away some people I care about.”
“Really, I never thought I would meet someone who felt so strongly about war.”
“Yeah, I agree, how about I give you an archery lesson as a payment for the apple.”
“Really, thank you stranger, by the way what is your name?”
“Oh sure, my name is Terrance and yours.”
“My name is Silva.”
“Well, Silva, let’s begin.”
“Rajah, I want you to stay here while I am training with Terrance.”
“Yes, my lady,” Rajah said agreeing to Silva’s command.
“Ok see you later,” Silva said as she left with Terrance.
Silva and Terrance walked to a far part of the forest so they can quietly practice. They found a beautiful serenity cluster of trees to train in.
“I guess the first thing we can do is let you have a feel for the bow, here take mine,” Terrance said handing it over to Silva.
“Hmmm… this is heavier than I thought, but I think I can get use to it, so what is next?”
“I guess we can try to see if you can hit these targets in fifteen seconds in rapid speed with one arrow.”
“That is impossible unless you use magic, but that would be cheating.”
“Yes, that maybe true, but if you believe in the arrow, then you can hit anything, like so.”
“Wow that is amazing ok I think I can do that.”
“Good, now take your stance, breath and believe.”
“Ok, you are now ready to send it flying.”
“Ok.”
Silva relaxed herself and launched the arrow which by luck hit all the targets.
“Terrance, did you see. I did it. Terrance, where are you?” Silva said worriedly.
Silva began searching for the boy to thank him, but she was tired from all that training that she fainted in the grass as a sleeping princess.
It seemed it has been hours since she fell asleep and the boy’s disappearance.
Once she woke up she did not know where she was, so she began trying to find her way back. She tried and tried, but it was no use. Silva went back to where she woke up to wait for Rajah to find her, but she found gifts waiting for her. A beautiful necklace with a strange symbol on it and the bow and arrow set she was training with, she thought they were gifts from Terrance, so she vowed to cherish them for the rest of her life.
“Princess, Princess, there you are, I was worried,” Rajah said coming closer to her.
“Oh Rajah, there you are you won’t believe how much fun I had today,” Silva excitedly.
“You can tell me about it while we make our way back,” Rajah said a little tired.
“Very well, oh I cannot wait to tell Seth and Rufus,” Silva said excitedly.
Rajah and Silva were talking about Silva’s day and taking on the sights a bit more before returning to the palace. It was exciting, but it was ruined by a voice.
“Princess! Princess! Where are you?”
“Huh…it’s Seth, Seth we are over here,” Silva said excited.
“Princess, Princess, oh thank goodness you are fine, your family has been searching for you, and your mother is very worried about you, come let’s return to the palace,” Seth explained escorting Silva back to the palace.
“Sure, but can we go see Rufus after, I have something to ask him,” Silva asked kindly.
“Very well, but please remind in the palace afterwards,” Seth pleaded.
“Fine, I promise, but I am surprise you care about me that much,” Silva agreed.
“It is my duty to look after you my lady,” Seth replied.
“Yeah, sure, Seth, you are a great friend,” Silva said kindly.
As they continued to walk back to the palace, the boy seemed to be spying on the princess on a close by tree.
“Master, do you think it was wise leaving your weapon behind and that necklace,” Riley, Terrance pet hawk said.
“Don’t worry Riley, she will never figure it out besides it is her birthday, I had to give her a gift,” Terrance said.
“I hope you know what you are doing?” Riley said having doubts.
“Riley, you worry too much, besides when the time comes, it will be my duty as a Priestess Knight, will be escorting her to the temples to begin her training as a priestess,” Terrance declared.
“Why does this seems more to do with your feelings for this girl than your duty,” Riley suspecting something more.
“No, I am committed to my duty as a knight, now let’s go,” Terrance said a little shy.
“Right, let’s go,” Riley said.
Terrance soon left and Silva along her friends returned to the palace to enjoy the festivities of a party that began hours ago. They were having the time of their lives, but Silva could not stop thinking about that boy, so she went to search for Rufus.
“Rufus! Rufus!” Silva called.
“Princess, how may I serve you?” Rufus said coming to greet her.
“Rufus, I want you to teach me archery, you are the most skilled with a bow and I think I can learn a lot from you,” Silva asked kindly.
“Why is this brought up all of a sudden? I’ll beat it had something to do with your trip to the forest,” Rufus teasingly asked.
“Yes, well, are you going to teach me or not,” Silva demanded.
“Very well, I will teach you,” Rufus accepted.
“Thank you,” Silva politely said.
