Chapter 2:
A Journey of True Love Under a Cherry Tree
It has been twelve years since Silva met Terrance in the forest and ever since then she could not help thinking of him. She did not wait around for Terrance after their encounter, so she left home. During those years she left home, she joined the Guild League and joined Red Phoenix Flower Guild after leaving her first guild. She loved being there and away from her family for a while since they were only using her for her magic.
Over time, Silva’s life in the guild was good and she earned the nickname, “Silva of the Desert.” Along with the way, she even completed all the trails of the goddess temples on her first try gaining magic in her crests that she refuses to use.
Even in the mission she took on, she adopted twin girls and took care of them like they were her own. She took care of them for their first four months up until they were two years old.
Unfortunately she had to leave her daughters at her old guild for protection as she wants to protect them from danger and having them hidden like this really will help. She had to leave so quickly because she got a letter from her family forcing her to return home or she will lose her inheritance. She sends money and anything the girls need in secret hoping no one will find them.
Returning home was a bit dull because Rufus was no longer there to give her pleasure. He might have been her mentor, but they were lovers when he used to live at the palace with her. He did leave her a note about why he did not come home with her because he was fully committed to his guild and the work he does. It did not feel the same without Rufus in the kingdom, so she felt quite bored. She missed her freedom being part of the guild and travelling the world. At least she had Seth here to keep her company after finding out she returned home leaving his guild days behind.
During their stay here, Silva and Seth gotten close. Seth has always love Silva, but never forced himself on her or express his feelings to her because he has always known she was in love with someone else. Seeing how close these two are with each other, Silva and Seth’s parents decided to have them to be married. Silva had no choice to agree to the marriage and are to be married in one year. Silva thought it was stupid to marry someone she thought as a brother, but maybe it was not so bad since she might not see Terrance again. She misses him every day and hopes one day that she sees him again.
At least she was going to have a chance to travel again to the Guild Summit. She received an invitation personally from the Guild King. This summit will be taking place at Emerald City kingdom where the Guild League was first established. She was excited at first to go with Seth, to take part discussing world issues and attending the party, but she is no longer part of the league, so why would she go.
Two days later, Seth convince her to go, so they were getting ready to leave. They were already late. Silva decides to track Seth down, so they can hit the hold already.
“Seth, Seth, where are you?” Silva shouts.
“Princess, what are you doing? You have a lesson with your father today,” Clair said running after Silva.
“I am looking for Seth,” Silva replies as she continues to run.
Silva runs all through the palace until she arrives to the knights training grounds and finally finds Seth fighting someone.
“Unbelievable…Seth!” Silva shouts.
“Huh…Silva?” Seth said as he blocks an attack.
“You let a women’s voice distract you,” the opponent said winning the fight.
“If it is from the princess, then as a knight you have to answer,” Seth explains as he gets up from the floor.
“Princess Silva, is there anything you need?” Seth asks picking up his sword.
“Did you forget we are leaving for the Guild Summit today,” Silva shouts at him.
“Oh I am sorry Silva. I forgot. You see an old friend of mine arrived to join the knight’s order, so we decided to duel. I guess we lost track of time. Here let me introduce you to him,” Seth explains to Silva.
“Ok, who is he?” Silva asks.
“This is Terrance and he will be serving as the new captain of the guard and your personal body guard,” Seth explains while introducing his friend.
“Princess, it is nice to meet you, please excuse me,” Terrance said walking away.
“The boy from the forest,” Silva whispers.
“Did you say something Silva?” Seth asks.
“No, um, please check on the bags and make sure we have everything ready for the trip. I will be back,” Silva says running to catch up to Terrance.
“Of course. Wait Silva!” Seth calls out
“Wait a minute, I need to talk to you,” Silva shouts as she runs up to him.
Terrance stops on the spot to hear what the princess had to say.
“Good thank you for waiting, um…I do not know if you remember me, but we met twelve years ago in the forest. You gave me this necklace and my first archery lesson. I wanted to thank you for what you did for me that day,” Silva explains blushing.
“The girl with the apples?” Terrance finally said as he remembers that day.
“You do remember me,” Silva answers excitedly.
Silva and Terrance all could do at this moment is smile at each other.
In the end, Seth and Silva never made it to the Guild Summit and stayed home. Silva spends all her time now with Terrance trying to get to know him. He does not talk much, but least she has him in her life again.
One night, Silva and Terrance decided to go for a walk to a pavilion overlooking the lake and talked about what they have been doing in the past twelve years.
“Let me guess you got all of those scares from fighting in wars, but why would you give it up and come here?” Silva says getting to the point.
“I did travel around fighting in wars, but they will not stop. I was helping the guilds to bring the peace among the divided world. I am not sure, but something told me to come back here,” Terrance explains.
“I wish my choice was easier than yours. I did not have much of a choice, but to come back. If I had a choice, I would stay with my guild and raising my da…., Silva said cutting herself of.
“Think of it this way, if you did not return home, then we wouldn’t see each other again.”
“Yes, that is true, thank you Terrance.”
The couple stood their kissing for a few minutes before Terrance broke it off.
“Let’s make a promise.”
“What kind of promise?”
“A promise that no matter what happens we will always love each other.”
“That is easier said than done, I need more than that.”
“Very well, how about this? Silva, as your knight, I vow, I will always protect and love you no matter what keeps us apart. I will always love you and I will never want to lose you again,” Terrance said as he was kneeling down.
“As your Princess, I accept your vow, but as your girlfriend I promise to love and protect you no matter what,” Silva agrees.
To keep their vows to each other, they sealed their vows with a kiss.
Since that day, they spend their time together training and trying to be a normal couple when they are alone. Even the marriage contract Silva and Seth was canceled. Seth did not mind as long as he is there to protect her, but he had something to take care of.
Terrance finding out the contract ended between Silva and Seth, he begins avoiding Seth hoping not to cause trouble.
One day Seth goes to Terrance’s room to talk. Before even letting the words out, he throws his sword on the table breaking it into two. Terrance looks up and seeing Seth there was surprising.
“I know you are avoiding me.”
“Seth, I am not avoiding you.”
“Save it. Do not treat me like a child.”
“I do not care if you have feelings for Silva. I will always protect her no matter who she loves.”
“I promise I will never hurt her.”
“I believe you,” Seth sounding a bit sad.
Terrance begins to see Silva more and continues to be friends with Seth which made Silva very happy indeed.
