Chapter 2: An Unexpected Reunion

It has been fourteen years since Silva met Terrance in the forest and couldn't stop thinking about him. She waited as long as she could for him to return, but decided to give up and leave home.

During the years she left home, she joined the Guild League. She started out in guild she was quite fawned of, but left after a certain incident occurred there that got her kicked out. She then began to travel around searching for a new guild and found one in the Red Phoenix Flower Guild after leaving her first guild. She loved being there and away from her family for a while since they were only using her for her magic.

Over time, Silva’s life in the guild was good and managed to earn the nickname, “Silva of the Desert," by conquering it all on her own. Her hatred of magic still lived on in her, so she continues not to use magic. Even though, she did still refuse magic, it did not stop her from entering the Goddess Temples and taking on the guild trails for earning magical crests infused with magic. With these new magical abilities, she still refused to use magic.

Sometime later, she took on an important job to sneak into a city where they had to rescue some girls feom an evil war lord. They were new born baby girls with incredible gifts, so in order to protect them, she adopted them as her own daughters and loved them so much. Things with her began slowing down as she wanted to spend every minute with them so they know how much she loves them.

Then one day, Silva recieved a letter from her family she needed to return home or else. It devastated her to go and leave her girls. She thought of taking them with her, but she thought they will be safer here, where they will always be protected. It broke her heart leaving her girls, who are now two, at the guild and will not hate her for what she did.

Then a few days later, she left her guild with Rajah and made her way home. It was a long way to get there, but it wasn't so bad. 

The first thing she need is setting up a network of money to be sent to the girls for anything they need, they can use this money.

Returning home was a bit dull since nothing happened and since Rufus left around the time she need, she does not have anyone to meet her needs at night. He was after a la her former mentor and lover, of course he isn't going to come back. At least he left her a note explaining he did not come back or she would have killed him. He explained he did not return to focus on his work for the guild and his other side job.

She missed being out on adventures and exploring new lands, not staying here in kingdom with nothing to do.

 At least she had Seth here to keep her company, but it really wasn't the same. He also joined the Guild League after Silva home and soon followed her back home to serve her once again. Sure, they have gotten closer in being friends, but in Seth's idea he wishes he was a bit more closer to her since he has always been in love with her since childhood. He also wanted to confess his love for her, but he did not want to force her to love him because he knew she will always be in love with someone else.

Things soon became complicated between them when their parents suggested they should get married seeing how close they are and they thought it was time to settle down. Silva, did not want to marry Seth at first since it will be like marrying your brother, but maybe it wasn't a bad thing. She doesn't know when she will ever see Terrance again, so maybe this marriage will help her forget about him, even though she still misses him. It is funny to remember someone you only might as a child and still have a vivid image of him.

Then one day things are about to change for her in an expected way.

She thought her guild days have been gone since returning home, but clearly it hasn't. Silva had just received a personal invitation from the Guild King to attend a guild summit in Emerald City, where the Guild League was first formed.  It is going to take place four days from now and she hopes to arrive there on time. She cannot wait to go and see all her old friends and grt to travel again.

Knowing about this news, she could not wait to tell Seth. She decides to search for him in the palace and tell him the good news.

“Seth, Seth, where are you?” Silva shouts.

“Princess, what are you doing? You have a lesson with your father today,” Clair said running after Silva.

“I am looking for Seth,” Silva replies as she continues to run.

Silva runs all through the palace until she arrives to the knights training grounds and finally finds Seth fighting someone.

“Unbelievable…Seth!” Silva shouts.

“Huh…Silva?” Seth said as he blocks an attack.

“You let a women’s voice distract you,” the opponent said winning the fight.

“If it is from the princess, then as a knight you have to answer,” Seth explains as he gets up from the floor.

“Princess Silva, is there anything you need?” Seth asks picking up his sword.

“I got an invitation to attend the Guild Summit, so we have to leave soon before we are late," Silva announced.

"Oh, that is great. We should grt ready. Oh, before I forget, let me introduce you to an old friend of mine, Silva this is Terrance," Seth said as he presents his friend standing next to him.

Did you forget we are leaving for the Guild Summit today,” Silva shouts at him.

“This is Terrance and he will be serving as the new captain of the guard and your personal body guard,” Seth explains while introducing his friend.

“Princess, it is nice to meet you, please excuse me,” Terrance said walking away.

“The boy from the forest,” Silva whispers.

“Did you say something?” Seth asks, confused

“No, um, please continue what you are doing, I will be back,” Silva says running to catch up to Terrance.

“Of course. Wait Silva!” Seth calls out

“Wait a minute, I need to talk to you,” Silva shouts as she runs up to him.

Terrance stops on the spot to hear what the princess had to say.

“Good, thank you for waiting, um…I do not know if you remember me, but we met fourteen years ago in the forest. You gave me this necklace and my first archery lesson. I wanted to thank you for what you did for me that day,” Silva explains blushing.

“The girl with the apples?” Terrance finally said as he remembers that day.

“You do remember me,” Silva answers excitedly.

Silva and Terrance all could do at this moment is smile at each other.

It seems Silva and Seth missed out going to the Guild Summit since Silva wanted to stay and spend all of her time getting to know Terrance after since a long time. He does not talk much, but least she has him in her life again.

One night, Silva and Terrance decided to go for a walk to a pavilion overlooking the lake and talked about what they have been doing in the past twelve years.

“Let me guess you got all of those scares from fighting in wars, but why would you give it up and come here?” Silva says getting to the point.

“I did travel around fighting in wars, but they will never stop. Then I quit fighting wars and worked as a mercenary with the guilds to bring peace between them. I never knew guilds can be so complicated. Then one day, I had this strange feeling that I had to come back here,” Terrance explains.

“Ha-ha, I know the feeling, guilds are complicated, but they do give you the freedom, you always wanted. I miss it sometimes, but I did not have much of a choice to return home. If I had a choice, I would stay with my guild and raising my da…., Silva said cutting herself of.

“Think of it this way, if you did not return home, then we wouldn’t see each other again.”

“Yes, that is true, thank you Terrance.”

The couple stood their kissing for a few minutes before Terrance broke it off.

“Let’s make a promise.”

“What kind of promise?”

“A promise that no matter what happens we will always love each other.”

“That is easier said than done, I need more than that.”

“Very well, how about this? Silva, as your knight, I vow, I will always protect and love you no matter what keeps us apart. I promise we will never be apart again, as I will always love you,” Terrance said as he was kneeling down.

“As your Princess, I accept your vow, but as your girlfriend I promise to love and protect you no matter what,” Silva agrees.

To keep their vows to each other, they sealed them with a kiss.

Since that day, they spend  all of their time together training and doing things normal couples would do when they are alone. It was too perfect.

Even the marriage contract between Seth and Silva was voided since both didn't want to marry in the first place.

Seth might have been hurt about all this since deep down, he wanted to marry Silva, but all he cares about is seeing her happy. If Terrance does this for her, then he does not mind, so long if he can protect her.

Terrance finding out the contract ended between Silva and Seth, he begins avoiding Seth hoping not to cause trouble.

Then one day Seth goes to Terrance’s room to talk. Before even letting the words out, he throws his sword on the table breaking it into two. Terrance looks up and seeing Seth there was surprising.

“I know you are avoiding me.”

“Seth, I am not avoiding you.”

“Save it. Do not treat me like a child.”

“I do not care if you have feelings for Silva. I should of known her heart would always belong to you. You have to promise me, you will never hurt her or I will kill you myself if you do."

 “I promise I will never hurt her.”

“I believe you,” Seth sounding a bit sad.

Terrance begins to see Silva more and continues to be friends with Seth which made Silva very happy indeed.
