Chapter 1:
A world That Forgot To Let Me Go
Well, I can’t log out, strange.
I got up from my comfy bed.
hopped in the shower to freshen up
Put my clothes on
headed out of the lively dorm.
I smelled the liveliness of the market while I was walking to the woods to level up some more.
Oh, right. I had to go to the guild to collect payment. As I entered the guild, everyone stopped to look at me. The atmosphere changed to hostile; tension flew all over the place.
“Hello, what can I do for you?”
I am here to collect payment.
“Oh, okay, please wait. Here you go, sir, 6 silver coins.”
I hovered at the job request, nothing paid well. I have to really level up. Luckily rumors haven't started about me. Most of the guild members did not like me.
I should just live in the woods, since I’m a farmer, I’m not new to being isolated. I was skittish. The stares from the other adventurers were scary.
I jolted out of the guild into the woods and got into the eerie woods. continually grinding to get my levels up, to be stronger. I look at my stats, and they have improved greatly. That’s enough for the day. I need to find a labyrinth to make a house in the woods.
Status: open!
Mana: 123
Magic: 124
Agility: 32
Agility doesn’t matter to me right now, I will be a glass cannon. Do I have a skill tree so I can use that to get some defense because I will be a walking easy target?
Kinda like that balloon pop game you see, that’s me, but unlike that game, I have the chance of getting hit.
I wonder why the guild hates me?
Was it because I am a farmer with magic?
I wonder what spells I can use now or if it is random.
Status: open!
Let's see here.
I kept on scrolling my skills are
Dark lighting
Shadow step
Stealth
I am half way to leveling up again.
Maybe I should take the exam to get into silver.
I went back to the guild desk.
I would like to take the silver exam.
“Okay, here you go that would be 6 silver.”
Aww man, that's barely going to have me rent.
Here you go.
“Thank you, please step this way.”
“In this exam you will be tested in three different categories those categories are
Magic
Mana
Defense
Uh oh, I don’t have defense stats. I have a question: if I don’t have high defense or barely any defense, what would happen?
“Uh—you will be dead. Most rookies overlook that, but on the other hand. You should look into getting defensive gear.”
First off, here is the first test, mana control.
“Control your mana and hit all the targets doesn’t matter if it’s all as one or one by one.”
That is an easy exam.
“Ok, on the count of three: 1, 2, 3.”
I will make this look cool.
Here goes nothing.
“I am the shadow of the night.
Lightning scares me.
Zesus himself fears me.
I here by summon
Dark lighting”
“What is wrong with this dude? That was so not cool.
Such a shame I hate doing these exams.
Males trying to show off would have been better if he stayed quiet.
I will have to tell him I reject him.”
I felt so cool saying that, checking that off my bucket list.
I don’t care if she finds it cringe.
As gamers, we all wanted to say some cool lines.
“The way he controls the mana is incredible. Most rookies will be overdoing it and fading."
“Okay, Ren, you pass with flying colors now for the second test.”
“This one is really simple. We will time your mana to see how long you can rest. Most adventures last for 30 seconds.”
"Ha," she said, "how long can you last?" I can last ages. Wait—pause—that came off wrong.
“Whenever you are ready, Ren, you can start.”
“Dark lighting, I choose you.”
What am I witnessing? Why is he calling say-ons when it is not needed?
“Bruh, if this Ren person says one more random thing, I will personally flunk him.”
“Congrats, Ren, you have unbelievable mana control, it’s shocking, to be honest.”
“Now the final test is defense. I hope you have some because it will be interesting to see what you can accomplish.”
I have a feeling there is nothing I can do, just watch you, feisty guild reception person.
Woah, she was agile, swing after swing. I've been dodging a lot and a lot. I try to parry it, but I can’t. A sharp slice grazed my hand as blood started to rush out.
Ok. Ok, you win.
“Such a shame, you still passed, but you really need defensive gear, you understand, Ren? If I was on another adventure, well, you would be gone. Think about it like a glass cannon.”
