Chapter 57:

The God of Emptiness

The Devourer of Destiny

A God with a powerful and gallant appearance. His chest was broad and his posture was tall. His short black hair was in stark contrast with his long white clothes, which at a glance seemed unsuitable for him.

"Who are you?" Mahendra asked.

He didn't recognize him at all. The strange feeling that pressured him somehow made Mahendra very wary. Unlike his fights against other gods, there was something special about this one.

"I am the God of Emptiness," he answered directly.

He appeared from the top of the stairs leading to the 2nd layer and then walked down slowly. After they stared at each other for a moment, his steps quickened, and then he leaped down, unleashing a powerful attack.

He struck the ground with a clenched fist, shaking the sky and the surrounding area. However, the blow had no impact on Mahendra. He intentionally missed the punch.

"You missed on purpose?"

"Consider it my greeting."

Their postures were almost the same, as was their height. The God of Emptiness, who had looked like an ordinary human, now exuded an enormous and terrifying aura.

From Mahendra's eyes, the God of Emptiness's aura spread across the sky in a golden color.

"So you are the Devourer Destiny? The one who is said to destroy the world?"

"No. I'm not the one who destroys it; you are," Mahendra replied with a mocking smile.

Feeling insulted, the God of Emptiness frowned. His eyes briefly glowed golden yellow. And in an instant, Mahendra fell into a colorless room.

The flow of time was illegible. His senses of touch and feeling simply disappeared. Mahendra floated in the air without feeling anything distinct, except for being trapped by a mysterious power.

"This is similar to the freezing of space and time. When I was in a tight spot before, the God of Space and Time used a similar power," Mahendra thought to himself.Although he felt the power was similar, he could sense a clear difference.

Freezing time makes me unable to think. This is different, "I can still think," Mahendra muttered.

He recalled the figure he was facing. Then, that figure appeared before him with the same sharp and intimidating gaze. For all his life and repeated resurrections, this was the first time Mahendra had felt nervous and scared when facing an enemy.

He was afraid to fight him, afraid to look at him, and even afraid to just know his identity.

"Bad, bad, bad, bad... I'm starting to drown in my own fear."

Mahendra's fading consciousness quickly made him realize that what was happening to him wasn't real. The formless power of the God of Emptiness made Mahendra almost lose himself.

He raised his hand and spread his curse power, staining the white space completely.

"ꦕꦲꦪꦧꦼꦫꦸꦧꦃꦒꦼꦭꦥ꧀‌ (light turns into darkness.)"

The white color had changed to pitch black. Only by using that curse could Mahendra break the emptiness he was experiencing. He returned to reality. Blinking twice, he took a quick step back, trying to keep his position upright.

"I didn't think you could break it, but that won't change everything," said the God of Emptiness, standing calmly.

There was no change in his expression, which made Mahendra confused about what he was actually doing. Soon, however, Mahendra realized that the "sealing" was happening again.

The entire sky became bright. The clouds he was standing on collapsed, causing him to fall freely. Mahendra gathered power behind his back, creating a large magic circle.

The magic circle, with several intricate formulas, was initially colorless, transparent, and seemed unreal.

Mahendra then bit his thumb, drew a drop of blood, and inscribed it onto the magic circle.

The magic circle slowly changed to a solid black color. Several triangular patterns were added around the circle.

"Second Devourer: Lightning!" Mahendra exclaimed.

The black magic circle then brought forth several sword blades that shot so fast, they attacked the God of Emptiness who was still up there.

"Second Devourer: Lightning Fire!" he said again, snapping his fingers. All the sword blades that shot like lightning now emitted a hot blaze.

The God of Emptiness, unable to block them, chose to evade them as best he could.

However, he only managed to avoid a few, and in the end, he was still hit by one or two blades that pierced his shoulder and leg. The remaining blades that were successfully avoided then exploded.
The God of Emptiness was pushed back.

"Ugh... How much power does Devourer Destiny have? I have repeatedly used the power of emptiness so that he couldn't break free of this reality and fall into illusion, but I still can't match him."

Although he felt he would lose miserably, he still put everything on the line. Once again, he used "sealing."

As Mahendra ascended to the 3rd layer, he was suddenly inverted in the air. He, who should have touched the floor on the 3rd layer, was instead floating in the air without feeling like he would fall.

"This is..."

The world seemed to be upside down...

No,

Only Mahendra was inverted by the "sealing."

"First Devourer: Fireballs," said Mahendra, who once again used a spell from his devourer power.

The rain of fireballs that should have come from above and gone down, instead came from below and attacked upwards. The fireball attack struck its own user. This caused Mahendra to be unable to hold on and he fell.

"Seal!" the God of Emptiness shouted, then narrowed the sealing space into a square with a golden circle as the central point of the god's power.

This caused Mahendra, who was inside it, to be trapped without a single gap, and it was difficult even to breathe.

Inside the "sealing" space, there were several laws of power from the gods. Not only did it control gravity or merely freeze time and tear space, but there was also a law of power that was difficult for even Devourer Destiny to avoid, such as the

"Law of Karma."

"Regardless of you avoiding the laws of life and death, or the laws of destiny, gravity, space, and time, or even the laws of nature... you will certainly still have a hard time fighting this one law," said the God of Emptiness.

"Karma... huh?"

Dozens of chains layered with the laws of gravity and time appeared from below and then coiled around Mahendra's body from the tips of his feet to the top of his head.

In a state of difficulty breathing and moving, Mahendra found it hard to think straight. This time, the words of the ancient spell once again appeared around Mahendra.

꧋ꦲꦶꦣꦸ ꦥ꧀ꦝꦤ꧀ꦩꦠꦶ꧈ (Life and death,)

ꦣꦒꦶꦁꦩꦼꦚ꧀ꦗꦣꦶꦠꦸꦭꦁ꧈ (flesh becomes bone,)ꦕꦲꦪꦧꦼꦫꦸꦧꦃꦒꦼꦭꦥ꧀‌ (light turns to darkness,)

ꦣꦤ꧀ꦗꦶꦮꦪꦁꦧꦼꦂꦱꦼꦩꦪꦩ꧀ꦠꦏ꧀ꦏꦱꦠ꧀ꦩꦠꦩꦼꦚ꧀ꦕꦶꦥ꧀ꦠꦏꦤ꧀ꦱꦼꦱꦸꦮꦠꦸꦪꦁꦣꦶꦭꦁꦒꦂ꧉ (and the soul that resides invisibly creates something that is violated.)

ꦎꦫꦁꦪꦁꦣꦶꦏꦸꦠꦸꦏ꧀꧈ (A cursed person.)

The deep red color of the ancient spell, which matched his pupils, glowed and vibrated intensely as if it had a life of its own.The more tightly the chains coiled around him, the faster the aura of death emerged from his body.

Devourer Destiny (Mahendra had reached his limit). However, on the other side, an Archangel's path was blocked by legends down below.
