Chapter 4:

Chapter 4: A New Friend Joins the Team

A Journey of True Love Under a Cherry Tree

After an hour later, Terrance, Silva, and Rajah finally arrive to Flora City. On their walk into the city, Silva refuses to speak to Terrance during their walk. Rajah also ignoring Terrance as well and walks between them, so Terrance will not be close to Silva.

As they enter the city, Silva does hope to ditch Terrance for a bit.

“Well, this sure brings back memories, huh Rajah,” Silva says talking to Rajah and ignoring Terrance.

“Yes, it sure does,” Rajah replies. “Travelling sure was fun back them.

“Rajah, let’s get something to eat. I am starving,” Silva suggests, staring evilly at Terrance.

“Yes, I agree,” Rajah replies growling at Terrance as they both walk away.

“Hey, we haven’t come up with a plan yet of heading to Miranda City,” Terrance yells.

“Rajah, did you hear something?” Silva asks pretending not to pay attention.

“No, nothing, my lady,” Rajah answers coldly as he was walking away.

“We should stick together and come up with a plan!” Terrence shouts.

“Sorry I cannot hear you!” Silva shouted as she left.

Silva and Rajah alone at last explores the city together.

“Wow, Rajah, I don’t even remember how long it has been since the last time we’ve been here,” Silva says thinking about.

“I am not sure my lady, but it does smell the same,” Rajah says sniffing around.

“Yeah, let’s go get some…Wait what is going on there?” Silva says seeing a huge crowd forming close by.

As she got closer, she sees a bunch of guys shooting arrows at targets trying to win some gold. This looked interesting to watch, so Silva decides to stay. She notices some the guys actually hitting the targets, but one guy in particular hit them all at once. Then she notices an old friend in the crowd already winning the gold. Then they are going for the next round and her friend is ready to go. The targets are lined up again, but in a further distance.

“Ok, who is ready to take me on this challenge?” Rufus calls out. “Any takers.”

“Come on, Rufus, you should quit while you are ahead, we have plenty of gold,” Rufus’s friend calls out.

“Not a chance man, I am going all the way,” Rufus calls out as he is setting his arrow in the bow.

“Whatever man, this is going to be your funeral,” his friend says giving up.

Without saying a word, Silva grabs a bow and arrow from someone and launches her arrow to hit all the targets before Rufus even had the chance to launch his arrow making her the winner of the gold.

“Wow, did you see that? She was amazing,” a little boy says in astonishment.

“I guess I won the money,” Silva says coming out of hiding, so everyone can see her.

“I only know one person who can shoot like that, isn’t that right Silva?” Rufus asks seeing Silva standing there.

“Well, I never thought you would never forget about me. It is great to see you again Rufus,” Silva replies greeting her old friend.

“I never forget an old friend’s amazing skills,” Rufus said getting Silva.

“Yeah, great to see you again too, but how about we catch up over drinks since it looks like I will be treating,” Silva suggests holding up the bag of gold.

“I am in, come on Simon, let’s go, I know a great bar, so follow me,” Rufus said accepting her offer.

“Sure, let’s go,” Silva said following her friend out of the crowd.

Silva and Rajah are following Rufus to a bar he knows where they can play catch up.

Terrance’s Gift

Terrance being alone in the city decides to gather important supplies for their long trip to Miranda City before they really get into trouble during their trip. At the same time, he was thinking about how he royally screwed up with Silva and not telling her about this big destiny. As he is shopping around, he thought he would find a gift for her to apologize for what he did to her, so he called Riley for advice.

“I cannot believe I was so stupid keeping this from her and now she will not speak to me about anything anymore, what should I do,” Terrance asks his friend Riley.

“Sir, you are a knight, not some whiney baby that got his feelings hurt for the first time. You serve a higher duty and just be thankful you didn’t tell her the rest of her destiny or she will really kill you,” Riley points out.

“Yeah, and this is supposed to cheer me up,” Terrance remarks.

“Sorry sir, but just give her space and I think things will turn out fine,” Riley says.

“Thanks, well, I better go find them, see you at the guild.”

“Yes, sir,” Riley says signing off.

“Come on, come all, come on everybody, check out these latest items from the capital,” a shopkeeper announced.

Terrance hears the shopkeeper and decides to check it out.

“Are you looking for something special for a special someone?” The shopkeeper asks.

“No, not really just looking around,” Terrance answers a bit embarrassed.

“Very well, help yourself to look around and let me know when you are ready,” the shop keeper said kindly.

“Thank you,” Terrance replies.

Terrance looks around the shop until he found something perfect for Silva.

“Sir, I will take this set,” Terrance said holding the set up.

“You have a good eye my lad, this set is made from a unique gem from the East Mountains. I believe this is for someone special in your life,” the shopkeeper asked.

“Yes, something like that,” Terrance replied a bit shy.

“Very well, I will wrap this up for you,” the shopkeeper said kindly.

“Thank you, now I can go and find Silva,” Terrance said in a whisper.

Soon after Terrance soon leaves the shop with joy and gift at hand hoping this will make Silva forgive him.

Silva’s First Bar Fight

Silva, Rufus, and Rajah arrive to the bar Rufus knows and head inside to take a seat at the bar to order some drinks.

“It’s funny running into you here. This place is not exactly close to your guild,” Silva says as she sips her drink.

“The job I took for the guild was close by, so I thought I crash here for a bit before heading back,” Rufus explains as he also takes a sip.

“Right. And why I do not believe you. I take it you are still doing some mercenary work?”

“Shush, jeez, Yes, I am still doing my mercenary work. The guild master wants me to quit since it is too dangerous, but I love it so much.”

“Yeah, it is not like you following the rules or we would never have been a couple,” Silva says taking another sip.

“Yup, those were the days. You were amazing in bed.”

“Would you stop with the past? You were lucky we did not get caught.”

“Ok, fine and what about you, this city is not exactly close to home,” Rufus asks pouring another glass.

“Where do I start? Um…let’s see remember the boy I told you about I met in the forest when I was a kid, well, he came back and we hooked up. Then just about a week ago some idiots are currently trying to invade our kingdom which I really don’t care about. Seth stayed behind to help the citizens escape. Rajah and I are supposed to meet up with Seth at Miranda City, so that is why we need Terrance to take us there. At the same time, I found out just last week that I have been blessed with our great goddess’s magic and now I have to take on the temple trials to awaken it even further. That is all I know about it.”

“Whoa, and I thought dating you was complicated. I remember you refused to use magic and now you have no choice but to use magic.”

“Tell me about it.”

“Yeah. I remember how bad ass you were conquering the desert.”

“Thank you Rufus that means a lot.”

“Not a problem. I will always be there for you. Oh which reminds me, I heard your daughters are doing well.”

“Oh, I am glad. I do miss them so much. I hope I get to see them soon.”

“Yeah, I know they miss you too, but they do not like to show it.”

“That is just like them.”

“They sure are something.”

“Back to your trails, I thought you completed the trails when you were still in the guild.”

“Yeah, I did, now apparently there are something called “Goddess Trails.” I am not sure what that will accomplish, but I have to do it or who knows what will happen.”

“Whoa, I know you still have your magic, but this new magic sounds interesting to see. Count me in to join your party.”

“Seriously, that is great. At least I will have a friend to travel with. You sure are taking all this so easily.”

“Well, when we were dating I always knew there was something special about you.”

“Yeah, I am glad you are not mentioning the sexual part of our relationship.”

“Yes, but if I did you might kill me for it.”

“Maybe,” Silva said as she is sipping her drink again.

“Oh, I should mention there might be another friend that will be willing to travel with us, but we would have to take a detour before heading to Miranda City.”

“And who would that be?”

“Oh, let’s just say it is a surprise before heading over to Miranda City.”

“Ok, I guess I can wait.”

“So, shall we enjoy our drinks before heading out?”

“Absolutely and go out back to get a little dirty.”

“Oh, Rufus, a flirt and a charmer, you know your tricks never worked on me, even when we were dating.”

“It does not hurt to try,” Rufus laughs it off.

They are continuing to chat about for a little while until a few loud months storm into the bar thinking they own the place.

“Hey everyone, Team Blitz have arrived and we are thirsty. Bartender, a round of beers and keep them coming,” the leader of the team announced.

While they were waiting for their drinks they were talking about their latest job.

“So, we were hired to escort a caravan to the next town through the forest, but once we saw it was getting dangerous, we made a run for it and we stole everything they had and came here,” the leader was boasting about.

“Wow, running away from danger and stealing your client’s goods. You must be a couple of idiot men with no balls or should I say pansies,” Silva said to the men.

“What did you say bitch?” one of the idiots said.

“I said you are a couple of pansy idiots who cannot stay in the heat,” Silva responded.

“Why you…,” the other idiot yelled trying to hit Silva.

“Whoa, wait a minute, is that Silva of the Desert, oh carp, let’s get out of here,” one of them shouted.

“Oh, so you know of me, so how about we have a little fun,” Silva says grabbing a chair.

“Now boys, you really pissed her off, so I guess I have no choice, but beat you up before she does,” Rufus says from behind them while throwing the first punch.

Then it becomes an all- out bar fight with Silva and Rufus cleaning out the trash.

“Just like old times huh Silva,” Rufus yelled.

“Yes, this is the most fun I had in a long time,” Silva replies excited beating people up one after the other.

Rufus and Silva continued to beat up the guys in the bar mostly for fun now. One after the other one tries to attack her, but fail. Then Silva takes over the fight and makes sure none of them are left standing. After, a few guys are remaining up, Silva decides it is time to leave before they had to pay for the damages.

“Well, this has been fun, but we have to go, come on Rufus follow me,” Silva said using Rajah to create a path to escape.

“I am right behind you, hurry up Simon,” Rufus shouts as they were running out.

Meanwhile, Terrance was walking by the bar and heard a blast coming out of the wall and saw Silva coming out of the smoke.

“Silva?” Terrance asks confused.

“Oh, Terrance, you might not want to stand there, you better come with us,” Silva warned as she was stopped in her tracks.

“Silva, what did you do?” Terrance asks still confused.

“There is no time to explain. Now come with us before they catch up to us,” Silva quickly says as she grabs Terrance’s arm and drags him along.

They run as fast as they can making sure no one follows them. They reached the other end of the town and out of sight of the bar idiots. At least they can finally be able to breath and come up with the next part of their plan.

“I think we finally lost them, now we can take a break,” Silva said catching her breath.

“Yeah, but I never thought this would bring me back to old times,” Rufus said catching his own breath.

“I take it you did this often,” Terrance pointed out.

“Yeah, whenever we get drunk and want to blow off some steam,” Silva explains.

“There is still so much I do not know about you,” Terrance said.

“Well, that is in my past, for now we better get moving,” Silva suggests while checking to see if anyone followed them.

“Yeah, so who are they? I hope you are not thinking about taking them with us?” Terrance rudely asked.

“Well, this is Rufus we grew up together and taught me archery. The boy next to him is Rufus’s friend Simon. Also, they are coming with us weather you like it or not,” Silva said spiking at Terrance.

“Do you they know what are mission is and can we trust them?” Terrance asked.

“Yeah, they know what is needed and yes we can trust them,” Silva vouching for them.

“Very well, they can come, only up to Miranda City,” Terrance agreed.

“Whatever man, but I am pretty sure you are going to need me a lot longer,” Rufus says taking the lead.

“Silva, are you sure we can trust him?” Terrance asks her with worry.

“Yeah, we can trust him, he is after all the best navigator I know,” Silva says as she runs over to Rufus and holds his hand.

“Fine, whatever. Let’s go then,” Terrence said walking ahead of them.

“Lead the way,” Silva offered.

“Ok, let’s go,” Rufus going on ahead.
