Chapter 3:
A Journey of True Love Under a Cherry Tree
It has been four months since Terrance reentered Silva’s life and it has been the best time of her life. They would go on romantic dates, walks around the forest, and train alone together so they can steal kisses whenever they have a chance. This is the first time in a long time that she felt homely in her kingdom with Terrance being here to always protect her.
It was a nice summer day in the kingdom, so Silva decides to spend the day with Terrance practicing their techniques along with Seth.
“I got you now Seth.”
“I don’t think so, my lady.”
Silva manages to dodge Seth’s attack and jumped behind him to launch her own attack on him. “Seth, what did you say before about never leaving your back open to an attack,” Silva said from behind Seth and kicked him hard to the ground.
“That was a cheap shot Silva,” Seth calls out rubbing his back.
“Sorry Seth, but you do leave your back open a lot when you do your sword attacks.
“That was a nice kick Silva,” Terrance calls out.
“Thank you, Terrance,” Silva replies quickly and runs over him to kiss him.
“Seems I do not need to teach you any longer,” Seth compliments.
“Of course I need you, Seth. If it wasn’t for you and Rufus, I wouldn’t be known as “Silva of the Desert.”
“Who is Rufus and what was that name you mentioned?” Terrance asks confused.
“Yeah, those two are a bit of a long story. I will tell you later. Now how about another round?” Silva asks still feeling pumped.
“Sure, I think I can go for a second round, how about you Seth?” Terrance asks.
“I think I will sit this one out, besides Silva’s kicks are deadly,” Seth replies declining.
“Ok, Terrance let’s do this,” Silva says taking on a fighting stance.
“Good luck Terrance, she can get a little wild when she is excited,” Seth warns.
“I think I can handle it,” Terrance replies as he avoids Silva’s first kick.
Seth takes his place next to Rajah along with Terrance’s bird watching above on the tree.
Silva and Terrance continue their fighting stance, and Seth is having a hard time keeping up with them.
“Wow, I never thought they were this fast?”
“Of course, my little Silva is the fastest and toughest fighter in all of the guilds,” Rajah explains impressed.
“Yeah, I could see that, ha-ha. Those years in the guild really did something good for her,” Seth admits.
“I agree with you Sir Seth, but don’t you think you should be looking out for her more?” Rajah questions.
“I know I will always protect her, but she has Terrance now, so I do not have to keep an eye on her so much now,” Seth admits with a sad grin on his face.
“I suppose so,” Rajah says as he falls back to sleep.
“Hey, Seth, come tag in, she really is exhausting! Terrance yells.
“Ok, I am coming,” Seth replies quickly.
“Oh, Terrance you really are a party pooper!” Silva shouts out.
“Yeah, whatever,” Terrance replies as he sends her a smile.
Terrance walks back to the tree where Rajah is sleeping and pretty much taken over the whole area as he does move around as the light touches his fur. Terrance was never really on Rajah’s good side when he is asleep, so he decides to sit on the tree top to enjoy some time with his bird Riley.
“Sir, this has been going on long enough, when are you going to tell her that a bigger destiny lies before her and you are to protect her during this path. If you keep hiding this from her, she will never forgive you,” Riley warns.
“Relax, Riley, I will tell her when the time comes, now head back to the guild and report this to the guild master,” Terrance whispers.
“Whatever you say sir,” Riley said giving up and flying away.
After defeating Seth for a second time, Silva decides to call it a day.
“That was a good workout, but next time you two put a little bit more effort in fighting me next time,” Silva says rejoining the others.
“I am glad you were enjoying kicking our butts out there,” Terrance compliments as he kisses her cheek.
“Thank you for the work out and being such great losers,” Silva teases.
“As long as it makes you happy, then we are happy too,” Terrance teases.
“Thanks, you two, you are such great friends,” Silva says as she hugs both of them.
“Hey, what should we do now?” Seth asks.
“I don’t know maybe we…Hey, do you smell smoke?” Silva asks.
“Yeah, I do too,” Seth agrees with her.
“What is going on here?” Silva asks wondering what is going on.
As they try to figure out what is going on, one of Silva’s maids come running towards them like she is afraid of something.
“Clair, what is wrong?” Silva asks her.
“Princess…Princess…Thank goodness you are safe, now you have to leave,” Clair says out of breath.
“What do you mean?” Silva asks, a bit scared.
“We are being invaded by the kingdom in the eastern region, please you have to leave,” Clair explains.
“Why would they be invading us? We have no magic and even the resources we have is very limited,” Silva says trying to think this through.
“Maybe they are after you?” Terrance blurted out.
“Why me? I am nobody special besides formally being part of the Guild League,” Silva wonders what this was all about.
“Whatever the reason is Silva, you have to get out of here. Terrance can take you someplace safe. I’ll go find your brothers and help the servants escape,” Seth said being noble.
“Ok, here is the plan. Clair goes find some place safe to hide while we are going to help the others to escape,” Silva says.
“Yes, my lady,” Clair says as she runs the other way.
“Ok, we better get going,” Silva says.
“No, you will be going with Terrance,” Seth repeating himself.
“No, Seth, I am coming with you, we are the only ones with magic to help, and you need all the help you can get,” Silva protests. “Come on Rajah.”
“No, Silva, for the sake of this kingdom, please go with Terrence at once,” Seth says, getting a little bit more aggressive.
“No and I will keep saying it until you take the hint,” Silva says, continuing to protest.
“Silva, please listen to him, we got to get going,” Terrance says jumping in.
“Go with him, you will be safe, go now,” Seth warns.
“I don’t care…I have to help,” Silva says about to faint.
“Silva, that is enough, come with me or the people risking their lives for you will be for nothing,” Terrance warns.
“Silva, let’s go now,” Rajah calls out.
“Fine, let’s go,” Silva says giving up.
As Silva is ready to leave, some unknown stranger came charging at Silva almost killing her and suddenly a strange bolt of light appears in front of her, and it appears to stop the idiot from attacking her. It killed the enemy, and Silva started to freak out.
“Whoa, what was that?” Silva asks freaked out.
“She has awakened her magic,” Terrance whispers.
Seth sees this as well and it was time for desperate measures. He goes behind Silva casting a quick sleeping spell on her and places her on Rajah.
“Terrance, take her to Miranda City, we will rendezvous there. I will go see the royals and citizens head to the safe zone,” Seth says to Terrance. “Terrance, please take care of Silva.”
“I will, I promise. Take care of yourself, my friend,” Terrance said like it is a final farewell to his old friend.
Seth and Terrance departed ways to begin their missions to save the woman they both love. Rajah never liked Terrance for giving hope to Silva, but since he is willing to give his life for her, he allowed Terrance to climb up on him for a ride out of the palace. Rajah for being a strong, fast, and brave demon dog, he will always be Silva’s protector. And so, Rajah runs towards the wall of the palace carrying supplies along with Terrance and Silva on his back and jumps over the wall in one jump.
Rajah lands in one jump and continues to run through the forest without stopping hoping no one is following them.
As soon as it got dark, they took a short break before continuing their journey.
“Phew, for a demon dog, you sure know how to run fast,” Terrance compliments. “But do you know how to get to Miranda City?”
“Are you questioning me boy?” Rajah says growling at him.
“Uh…uh…no, nice doggy,” Terrance staggers as he is trying to not sound scared.
“Good and yes, Silva and I both were in Miranda City long ago, so I do know the way. We will rest here for a bit longer and we will continue to Miranda City since it will take us three days to get there,” Rajah explains.
“Sure, whatever you say, but can you stand over there,” Terrance says pointing at a spot far away from him.
“OK, but I will be keeping an eye on you,” Rajah says taking a seat on the floor.
About half an hour later, Terrance makes sure Rajah is asleep before he talks to his pet bird Riley.
“Sir, this is getting dangerously close of you being exposed here,” Riley admits.
“Hush, Riley, before anyone hears you, in fact why don’t you report this to the Guild King,” Terrance orders Riley to do.
“Yes, sir,” Riley says flying away.
The next morning, they continue to travel towards Miranda City to meet up with Seth, so they hope getting to Flora City would not take up too much of their time there and hoping Silva does not wake her new abilities until they arrive to the first temple.
It has been two days now since they left their home and starting a journey which will begin once Silva wakes up. On their last day of their adventure, they are already on the outskirts of Flora City and hoping Silva wakes up soon.
An hour away from the city and Silva manages to wake up suddenly.
“Huh, where are you?” Silva asks confused.
“Oh, good you are awake, you have been asleep for three days,” Terrance explains.
“Three days? Where is Seth? Where are we?” Silva asking the questions.
“Yes, Silva you have been asleep for three days. Seth is not with us at the moment, he stayed behind to make sure your family and the citizens were evacuated from the kingdom to the safe zone, but he promises to meet up with us at Miranda City,” Rajah explains.
“Miranda City? That is not exactly close by. Where are we going now,” Silva answers.
“Yes, well, it is where we are going to go, but I think it will be a good idea to stop at Flora City for some supplies,” Terrance explains.
“Ok, it is a bit fuzzy, but I am remembering I used some strange magic before we left, care to explain?” Silva says staring at Terrence.
“Very well, if you must know there is no point of hiding this from you any longer, so I will tell you. Silva, you are blessed with goddess magic.”
“What?”
“It is true. Have you ever wondered why you are the only person in your family who possess magic?”
“Not really, I thought I blessed with magic by the goddess and the kingdom lost their magic because they defied the laws of magic. I never cared about magic, since I never used it when I was in the guild, what about it?” Silva says trying to remember the story.
“What you just said is only part of the truth, the real truth is you are blessed with the Goddess Solaria’s magic on the day you were born seconds before she died. The kingdoms of Earthnia and Falara both attacked the goddess killed her in cold blood and to protect her magic she could only pass on her magic to a pure innocent soul,” Terrance begins explains,
“Strange that is not the story my parents told me about, so how do I know this is true?” Silva asks.
“Well, if it was not true, then why did the magic came to protect you?” Terrance asks.
“I don’t know why, but if this is true, then I am a goddess now.”
“Not yet, you would have to complete the Goddess Trails at the temples located in the cities we are to visit. I believe you only have to complete twelve, so you can become a goddess and take your place in the realm of the goddesses,” Terrance explains.
“Ok, so are these similar to the Temple Trails because I have completed those when I was in the guild, take a look,” Silva sis taking off her glove to show her markings.
“No, they might be the same, but they are a bit more challenging, but since you completed the first trails, I don’t think you will have a problem,” Terrance says.
“Fine, I will complete the trails, but I wonder how you know so much about this?” Silva asks curiously.
“Very well, my name is Terrance Echo, and I am part of the Knights of the Goddess where we travel across around the world protecting women like yourself that are blessed with goddess magic while completing the trails until they become goddesses themselves. When I met you all those years ago, I was assigned to protect you, but I couldn’t tell you back then to preserve your innocence. Since that day, I was trying to find you to tell you the truth, but you fell of the radar when you returned. I contacted Seth, who has been my friend for a long time, and he told me about you, so I thought I would come to your kingdom to protect you. I am sorry Silva, if you want to leave, then I do not blame you,” Terrance explains.
“How can you keep this from me so long? If you have told me the truth from the beginning then maybe I would believe you, now I am not so sure I want to go through with this or even use this magic when it belongs to the goddess who made my home suffer all these years without magic just because she did not like two kingdoms at war. Also, I don’t think I can travel with you when you were a liar all this time together. I loved you Terrance ever since I was a child in the forest, now I don’t think I can love a liar keeping secrets from me,” Silva says almost in tears.
“I understand Silva, you don’t have to love me, but I will stay with you until we meet up with Seth,” Terrance says feeling upset.
“Fine, whatever, come along Rajah, we are going ahead,” Silva says walking passed Terrance.
Silva walking ahead with Rajah couldn’t help crying as she could feel her heart being broken by a man, she thought she will love forever. Rajah begins comforting her by rubbing his head on her leg. Now she has no choice, but to travel for how long it takes to be safe to return room or at least returning to her guild to see her daughters. Terrance follows behind making sure it is safe for Silva to travel.
Almost arriving to Flora City, Silva’s real journey is about to begin.
