Beautiful Power But Dangerous

Third-Person POV:

Aidan knew these two boys were too smart; they wouldn't refuse his offer. After all, one wanted a home and protection for the person they loved, and the other wanted their brother to find happiness and live their childhood with many good memories.

"We have arrived."

As soon as the carriage stopped, Darien could hear a commotion outside. The door opened, and Aidan and Hirayuki stepped out first. The two brothers felt nervous to get out, but they tried to be brave, holding hands tightly and stepping out of the carriage together.

When the two brothers got out and were seen by everyone, whispers began, cameras flashed, and some people looked at them with curiosity and confusion.

Fortunately, they were surrounded by knights who formed a circle to give the four of them space to walk easily toward the main gate.

"Oh! Aidan! What are you doing here again? Did you--huh? Who are those little kids?" a large, muscular man asked. His cheerful expression turned into a confused one as he stared at the two brothers.

Eirian glared hard at him, making the muscular guy feel scared and hide behind Aidan.

"Hm? Ai-chan, you didn't kidnap some kids, did you?" asked another man who looked younger than Aidan, with a playful tone and a mischievous smile.

Pakk!

"Ow!"

"Stop it, okay? Do you want to start another rumor? Aidan-kun. What is all this? Did you find a way to break this wall? And... where did you find these two cute kids?" asked a woman with a look that gave Aidan a déjà vu.

"Why do you all think I like kids?" Aidan asked with a deadpan face. The three of them looked at each other, then looked back at Aidan with serious expressions, "Because we know you," they answered in unison. The young detective next to him gave Aidan the same look Eirian had given him in the palace earlier.

"I'm not like that."

"Ah ha, yeah, right."

"Hahaha, don't worry, Hira-chan. Ai-chan just liked cute things--Gahh!"

"Do you want to tell the whole world, idiot?"

"... Ergh... Mona-chan... That hurts!"

While Aidan was arguing with his team members and Hirayuki was side-eyeing the four adults, Darien and Eirian were too focused on looking up and around them. Darien's eyes shone with awe, as did Eirian's, whose mouth was slightly agape.

"...This is..."

"Beautiful."

Above them was a sky like a galaxy. It was a mix of colors like blue, pink, purple, green, and yellow. It was full of bright, shining stars and many shooting stars that passed by in various colors.

The galaxy wall wasn't just above them; it was all around them, like a snow globe. It surrounded the entire kingdom, trapping them all.

Darien understood now why that old noble called it a disaster. Even though it was so beautiful and lovely, this protective barrier had trapped everyone inside, and no one from the outside could get in.

'... So, my guess was right. My power created a galaxy-protective wall around this entire kingdom. Seriously, how strong is this power? Even I'm scared now... At least I'm glad no one was hurt, but...,' Darien stopped thinking when he glanced at Aidan, who looked like he was done with his team members.

'... That old noble said that even Aidan, who has the strongest magic here, couldn't break my barrier. So, the conclusion is that since this is my power, he thinks I might be able to remove this wall? Hmm... I think what Aidan is thinking is right. 

The result of this barrier came from my power, so I must be able to remove it. But how? This is the first time I've used my power directly... What is it that I lose control again and hurt everyone around me?'

Darien felt sick at the thought of a catastrophe that would happen if his power went out of control again. The novel's writer was now aware of how strong and dangerous his power was. He was also worried that if it happened, he and Eirian would be permanently stopped or eliminated.

"Darien? Are you okay?" Eirian asked, appearing in front of him with a worried look. "Your face is pale."

The writer was startled because Eirian was so quick to know he wasn't okay, and because he appeared in front of him like that, he wanted to say he was fine to his brother, but Aidan had already called for them.

"Darien, Eirian, come here." The two brothers looked at each other with confused expressions, but they didn't question it and went toward Aidan, still holding hands.

As they went toward Aidan and Hirayuki, who were waiting for them in front of the main gate, Darien could feel all eyes on them. 

It made Darien feel very anxious and uncomfortable; he didn't like all the attention on him. It was as if they were being treated like they had committed a huge crime. Well, it was his fault, but Eirian had nothing to do with it.

He tightened his grip on Eirian's hand. Eirian didn't say anything, but he tightened his grip on his brother's hand as if to tell him he was here and he didn't have to be scared, which made Darien feel a little relieved and safe.

When they arrived, some people who were outside the main gate, and Aidan's team members, also turned to look at the two of them with confused and curious looks.

Except for the man who called Aidan 'Ai-chan'. He now looked strangely calm, with his sharp eyes focused on the two of them. It was as if he knew what Aidan's idea was and why the two boys were here. He could also sense that one of the boys was the cause of all this.

'... Still, what does Ai-chan want to do with these two kids after all this is over, and... Where have I seen this little one before? The crimson-red eyes... The soft hazelnut hair.. He looks familiar.'

"This is Darien, the younger brother, and Eirian; the kid with a bro-con problem, is the older brother," the way Aidan introduced the two of them made his team members and Hirayuki sweatdrop because it was so simple and blank. Like he read the weather for today.

"Hey."

Aidan ignored Eirian's protest and went back to focusing on his team members with that blank face. But the three of them, except for the other man, already understood what Aidan was trying to say.

Gasp!

"These two kids are the culprits!?-Huff!"

"Toru, you're an idiot," Mona scolded after punching the muscular man's stomach easily but hard and painfully, making him gasp for air.

"Yeah, now everyone knows, idiot."

"Shut up, Eve! You're an idiot, too!"

Eve just shrugged with a nonchalant face while Toru, the muscular man, glared at her. Mona just shook her head while sighing.

'What the hell? thought Eirian while looking at the four adults arguing again like the kids.

Darien, meanwhile, felt more and more anxious because the whispering, the camera flashes, and the looks from everyone there became more obvious and sharp. It was as if he was being stabbed all over his body with needles. he felt his heart beating fast, and he let out a shaky breath.

"Sigh... Listen, I'll explain everything later, but it's true that this protective power indeed came from Darien, this little boy. His power went out of control when he tried to release it. I think maybe he can remove it because it came from his power. Of course, this is just a test, and it won't work on the first try. So don't get your hopes up."

The three of them stopped arguing, turned to look at Aidan, and then looked at each other before looking back at their leader, Aidan, with suspicious and strange looks this time.

 "... What?"

"... No, it's just... It's a bit surprising that there's a human with a magical power that's greater and stronger than yours... It's just..." Mona said, looking as if she couldn't believe it, with an awkward smile because she didn't know how to explain it. Aidan raised an eyebrow.

"You usually don't get involved with people you're not close to, especially kids, and..."

"You always want to solve problems yourself. You don't rely on anyone else except us, do you, hehe?" Toru continued with Eve's earlier words, giving a toothy grin.

Aidan looked at his team members with an unreadable expression before letting out a tired sigh. "Darien... Eirian... You two remember our deal, right? So?" Aidan asked suddenly; he just wanted to stop wasting his time with his three team members and go home to sleep.

The two brothers looked at each other with uncertain expressions. They both knew their lives had just become more difficult. They didn't have a home, no one wanted to adopt them, and now, they were on a thin thread of fate. Either they would be exiled or separated.

Darien and Eirian could still feel that both possibilities could happen if something similar happened again, except for being eliminated, because the King and Queen didn't want to use that method.

No one can predict the future, especially Darien or Hikaru, the creator of the world himself, who didn't feel at ease because all possibilities could happen if he failed or made this problem worse.

"Huh? A deal? What did you deal with them, Ai-chan?" Eve asked, looking a bit shocked and sounding so weird, as did Mona and Toru, who were looking at Aidan as if he wasn't the leader they knew.

"Aidan-san made a deal with the two brothers. If they succeed in removing this magic wall, Aidan-san will adopt them," Hirayuki explained with his charming smile, but Aidan felt like the detective boy wanted to add to his headache. And he was right; now he had to deal with his group members again.

"WHAAATTTT!!!!???"

The two brothers sweatdropped and started to feel sorry for Aidan, who was surrounded by his group members again, just waiting for the moment when Aidan would 'kill' his three friends. How he could be so patient with them was something the two brothers didn't want to know.

Darien turned his gaze away from Aidan and his team members and looked at his brother, who was giving a judgmental look at the four adults. 

He chuckled a little, feeling a little pleased, but Aidan's childish argument with his group members, and Hirayuki, who looked like he was enjoying the scene in front of him, was like he was watching the strong bond between the four of them.

He didn't know what Hirayuki's relationship was with Aidan, but seeing how close they were throughout this one day, he could see. Darien felt that it was very likely that someone was continuing to write his novel.

This storyline and all these characters are not his idea. That's all he knew now.

'... Let's think about all that later. Now... How do I remove this wall?' Darien thought, walking forward to approach the magic wall. He wanted to look closer and try to figure out how to remove it.

Eirian saw his brother walking forward, and he felt weird, but he didn't call or question Darien. Instead, he chased after his brother until he was beside him.

When Darien arrived at the wall, he was only next to Aidan and the others, who still hadn't realized that the two brothers had gotten close to them. The novel's writer held out his hand, his palm almost touching the wall if it wasn't for Eirian, who stopped him by holding his arm.

"Darien? Did you already figure out how to remove it? Is it safe?" Eirian asked, sounding very worried and a little scared. Darien felt touched by his brother's worry, so he took his brother's hand that was holding his arm and released it from his grip.

"I'll be fine, Eiri-niichan, don't worry. I just want to touch it, who knows if I'll get something. It's not dangerous, so don't worry, okay?" Darien said, giving a cute, slightly toothy smile, trying to convince his brother.

Eirian still looked a bit hesitant, but he didn't say anything and moved back a little from his brother with just one step. He still wanted to be close to Darien, in case something bad happened again or his power went out of control. He couldn't bear to see Darien get hurt.

Darien's left palm then touched the wall gently. He took a breath, then exhaled slowly while closing his eyes. While he was trying to think, he was trying to figure out how to remove it.

Everyone, including Aidan, Hirayuki, and the others, focused on him with looks of worry, curiosity, full of hope, and some with unreadable looks. Even those who were outside Serenity came closer to the main gate to get a closer look.

'... From what I know from Hirayuki and sensei, this world used to use mantras to cast their magic power, except for a few people who could cast magic without saying mantras, including Aidan. Hmm... 

Now the world has changed, and if I follow the logic, we can just cast our power without saying mantras, and every status window shows the way, but in my and Eirian's case, we don't have a guide to cast our power.

If that's the case... Should I just imagine it? Imagine... This is easy for me as a novel writer. Let's try it. First, I have to feel this power of mine, then imagine I'm breaking it. It's quite simple, isn't it?' Darien slightly raised an eyebrow, feeling a little uncertain about that idea.

He then opened his eyes, looking serious but hesitant. "Hmm... I don't know how to structure my power, though... Let's just try it first," he mumbled to himself, except Eirian beside him can hear it, but he doesn't ask or say anything, even though he wanted to.

Darien closed his eyes again, then took a breath and exhaled, trying to focus and calm his heart that was beating fast now, while Eirian was focusing on looking at Darien with a worried look.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw one of the stars on the wall move. He turned to look, tilting his head to the side with a weird look, thinking he saw wrong until the other stars also started to move.

Gasp!

"Aidan-san! All those little stars are moving!" Hirayuki claimed, looking shocked with his mouth slightly agape. Aidan also turned to look up, and it was true, all the little shining stars started to change colors and move fast like shooting stars.

All the stars moved, swirling in a circle, like those stars dancing in this snow globe. It looked so beautiful, making everyone's mouths gape, looking awe, gasping, seeing the shooting stars spinning around with the speed of the wind and shining brightly. This is too stunning.

Suddenly, it stopped. It was so quiet, the silence and atmosphere still, with everyone holding their breath. For some reason, they felt chill even though it was the most beautiful and wonderful sight they had ever seen, but when it stopped and became quiet as if a storm was coming, it gave them an uneasy feeling.

The stars then moved and went in the same direction after some time of silence. They moved toward Darien's left palm, which was still touching the wall with his eyes closed, as if he wasn't aware of what was happening around him, or... he actually knew.

As soon as all the stars had gathered in his palm, leaving the sky of the galaxy wall empty, it became pitch black because the shining stars were not there anymore. Darien opened his eyes, which had turned into a royal-blue color, like the color of his eyes from his previous world.

He clenched his palm, then opened his hand again, releasing all the stars to fill the sky of the wall again. All the stars then broke, shattering the protective wall around the kingdom like fireworks.

Everyone cheered with joy and relief, yelling as if they had gotten their freedom, being able to see the real sky again. The sky had already turned orange, showing that it was almost nighttime, but the wall was gone, and those who were outside the gate could go back to their homes now.

Aidan, his team members, and Hirayuki and Eirian looked so shocked, with their eyes wide open and mouths slightly agape. They are too speechless.

'... He... succeeded?'

"... What the-- Ai-chan... Are you saying he-"

Thud.

"Gasp! Darien!!!"
