Chapter 35 : So I am The Hero of The Demons

- "Agni! Agni!!"

I open my eyes. I am lying on the floor. There is a drawing on the ceiling. I haven't seen anything like this. Where am I? 

- "Get up, Agni."

I look to my left. A human-shaped entity whose full body is only but dark blue flame is standing next to me. I startle and quickly get up. 

That entity says, "You aren't frightened to see me. I thought otherwise." I say, "I have seen many things after coming to another world. Now a few things surprise me or frighten me." That entity says, he laughs and says, "I can understand Agni. But weren't you scared that I might harm you when you first saw me?" I say, "No. If you wanted to harm me, you could have done so. Since you didn't, then you won't. But for some strange reason, I feel very comfortable with talking to you. May I know who you are?"

That entity smiles. He says, "Yes. And deep down you know who I am. But let me introduce myself. I am Azuryon Ignivra, the King of Fire elements." I quickly kneel before him. He says, "Hey, you don't have to do that. Stand up and stand tall." I stand up. 

Azuryon says, "Let me tell you something you don't know. When you were summoned into this world, you were only gifted with inhuman strength and speed." I surprise and say, "Then how..." 

- "How did you get the blue flame right?" 

- "Yes." 

- "For a long time, I was looking for a perfect vessel for me. Who will change the world of living in a better way? When I sensed your soul coming here from another world of living, I got curious and took a look at your spiritual core. Then I realized that I found the one who is perfect to be the vessel of me. Then I blessed you with my power. But the problem is that you almost changed the world without using my power at all. Why Agni?" 

- "Actually I didn't know I have any special power regarding the blue flame." 

Azuryon sighs and says, "You need to fully accept me to use my powers, Agni. Accept me, Agni." I say, "I am honored to accept you, your highness." 

Azuryon smiles and says, "Agni, do you know what fire truly is? It is the spirit of the paradox. You can see it, yet you can't hold it. It gives you heat, but it has no existence. It is an illusion that turns everything into ashes. Fire gives life; fire takes life. Fire belongs to no one. It exists only to consume the very thing it touches. Be a true fire, Agni. Now go, Agni. Fulfill your responsibility as a hero. And always remember that if someone or something tries to destroy the creation of God, then it should be turned into ashes."

I open my eyes. It takes a few seconds to see clearly. I can see Vaelya fighting beside me. Maybe she was protecting my dead body. I smile.

Oh! There is no pain. My belly is completely fine. And the right wrist is in one piece. But my dress. Let's not think about that. I get up. Vaelya instantly turns to me. Her eyes get wide to see me. 

I say, "Sorry, Vaelya. You were fighting all this time, and I was just sleeping." Vaelya's sword falls on the ground. She comes to me and hugs me tightly. I hear my bones crack. I say with a suffocating voice, "Vaelya, I can't breathe." She doesn't listen. She is crying. I smile.

After a few moments, Vaelya releases me from the hug and says, "Don't you dare to do that again." I smile and wipe her tears. I say, "I'll gladly do that again and again if the same situation occurs. And I'll always return to you, Vaelya." Vaelya smiles.

I say, "Now let me take care of Seraphmortis." Vaelya asks, "But how?" I smile and say, "By the ultimate element of destruction, fire."

I walk to Seraphmortis's right leg. I touch its feet, and I shout as I let out my rage in the disguise of the blue flame. Instantly the whole body of Seraphmortis is covered with the blue flame. Seraphmortis starts screaming. Feels like my eardrum is going to burst. I increase the flame.

After a while, only ash remains from Seraphmortis. His skeleton minions vanish. And the sky turns to normal.

Vaelya runs to me and hugs me. I smile and hold her. I surrender myself to her warmth.

That beautiful smell again!

I open my eyes. Vaelya is sitting next to me. She smiles and says, "You got up early today." I smile and say, "Seems so." I go outside to freshen up. 

Five months have passed since the Seraphmortis arrived. 

In these five months this world changed in the best way. The world is now free of racism towards demons and demi-humans. Demons and demi-humans risked their lives to save humans from Seraphmortis. That really changed the perspective, which was set by the Sanctus Dominion. And Nirva, the lady hero, told everyone the truth of the Sanctus Dominion. Everyone always trusts her. So they once again accept demons and demi humans. Which makes the demons and the demi-humans safe to coexist with other races. 

Demons repaired Velzaroth, the demon kingdom. Then Varthion returned to Velzaroth with all residents of the Demon Realm. Varthion sits on the throne of Velzaroth. Now, demons and demi humans can stay in the Velzaroth safely. 

Last month Elafeyra and Velzaroth decided to do business with each other. They are talking about making a three-kingdoms alliance. They are Elafeyra, Velzaroth, and Alnovir. Kingdoms of elf, demon, and human. Our prime ministers are busy making that happen. Nirva is still traveling the world and telling others about the battle where all races joined forces. 

Amid all this, I am doing nothing. I've nothing to fight for. Everything is now covered in peace. Which makes me feel useless. But seeing people of different races living with peace and harmony, I feel my heart in heaven. 

And this day passes without any event.

It's night now. I am sitting on the bed, thinking about the day I got here.

Someone knocks on the door. 

That smell!

I say, "Come in, Vaelya." Vaelya opens the door and enters. She says, "How did you know it was me? I say with a smile, "I just know." Vaelya sits right beside me. I can smell her perfectly. 

Ah! This heavenly feeling!

Vaelya says, "So what were you doing earlier?"

- "Nothing. Just sitting here. Thinking."

- "What were you thinking?"

- "Um...My first day in this world, meeting you, the time we spent together, your sme....strong personality. Yes, your strong personality."

I barely survived that one. Vaelya smiles and says, "So you are thinking about me a lot." I say, "Yes. Seems so." Vaelya looks at me with side eyes and says, "What about my strong personality? You don't like it?" I quickly say, "No, no. Of course I love it." 

- "Is that so?"

- "That is so."

Vaelya laughs beautifully. God! I just love her so much.

Vaelya says, "My brother can't stop talking about you. You're the reason we finally returned home. We are indebted to you, Agni." I smile and say, "No, you are not. All demons came to fight Seraphmortis for the order of his highness. I didn't request his highness to do that. Yes, Nirva and I helped the world understand the truth about the Demons. You received what was rightfully yours and what you deserved. I can't take any credit." 

Vaelya says, "But without you, none of this would happen. Demons are now living in this world without fear. You are truly the savior of demons." I smile and say, "I am their hero after all. I was summoned to be the hero of the Demon Realm. It is my responsibility to look after the demons."

Vaelya looks at me and whispers, "And what about their princess? Does the hero have any responsibilities for her too?" I smile and whisper, "Sure. And which type of responsibility is the princess looking for from the hero?" 

Vaelya blushes and lowers her gaze. She whispers, "That includes laying the hero's head on the lap of the princess." 

My whole body freezes. Is it a dream?

Vaelya quickly says, "Forget what I said. I don't know what I was thinking." She is about to get up. 

No, Agni! Don't miss this!

I grab her hand and pull her to sit. I whisper, "That will be the hero's most beautiful dream." Vaelya says while blushing, "It's not a dream, you idiot." 

I put my head on Vaelya's lap. Seriously, this is heaven. Vaelya says with a worried voice, "Why are you crying, Agni?" I say, "Maybe because I am the happiest person in this whole world right now." Vaelya smiles beautifully and wipes my tears. Then she gently caresses my head.

After a moment, Vaelya says, "Can I ask you a question, Agni?" I say, "Sure, Vaelya. What is it?" Vaelya hesitantly says, "So do you think the hero will return to his own world now that world is at peace?"

- "No, Vaelya. The world just achieved peace. Maintaining the peace is also a responsibility of the hero. Since the responsibilities of the haven't been fulfilled yet, the hero can't return to his own world." 

Vaelya says in a down voice, "And when all the responsibilities of being a hero are fulfilled, will you finally return to your own world, Agni?" 

I smile and place my right hand on Vaelya's left cheek. I say, "No, Vaelya. Because I found a woman whom I want to spend my whole life with. Whom I always want to return to. Whom I want to give everything I have. For she is my world. So, I can't leave here, Vaelya." Vaelya holds my right hand and says with a tearful voice, "Who is this woman you are talking about?" I whisper with a smile, "Her name is Vaelya Vel Azar." 

Vaelya laughs a little while tears are in her eyes. She says, "Well, that happens to be my name." I whisper, "She is you, Vaelya. I want to be with you, Vaelya Vel Azar. If you let me, that is." Vaelya whispers, "Here is your answer, Agni Roy." Vaelya leans towards my lips to give a kiss. 

You may never know where your fate brings you. But know this, God's plan is perfect. Even if God brings you into a different world, rest assured. There must be a reason for that. You may meet someone special that you won't find if you haven't been brought into that new world. 

My point is, I was destined to meet Vaelya. And so, I was summoned to be the hero of the Demon Realm.
