That Figlo guy said that he’s trying to earn some money in order to become a merchant. It seems that was his first time going into the dungeon.
The woman that was with him was also a newbie. They met each other on the staircase and decided to go in together seeing as they were both looking for a partner. The woman was good with a sword and a little magic. He was good at binding magic.
Binding magic has the same effect as the elf guardian in the sacred land. But unlike the original who uses thorns to bind, he casts a spell that ties down an opponent in one place for just some seconds.
“It was my fault we got captured.” was what he said to me.He must really be in need of money if he is willing to put himself in danger like this. I should have given him the loots I acquired after killing the goblin boss. He deserves it after all. I think I should take them with me in case I see him again.
Meila did some work today for once. I wont blame her if she’s too tired to cook.
The days pass by in the blink of an eye. Night comes the moment morning arrives. I did promise Meila that I wouldn’t go see Lust again. The scars in my hand are warnings to that. But it’s just that I feel sad whenever I think about not seeing her again.
To get my mind away from things. I decided to go to the dungeon the next day to cool off my head. I made sure to bring along with me the items I got defeating the goblins and two freezer wings and stones. If I were to meet Figlo again, I plan on giving him the items so that he can pursue his dreams. It’s no good if someone like him keeps venturing inside the dungeon like that. He may get killed before he makes enough money to quit.
This time around, I took Duddul along with me. He seems really lonely whenever I return home from the dungeon so I thought I should take him with me to the staircase. That way he can wait patiently until I exit the dungeon. If he decides waiting is too much for him, then he might go back to staying home.
The items I brought for Figlo are in a Dauka I asked Meila to buy a while back.
I was teleported to the third floor right after setting foot in the dungeon. I was then met with ugly looking centipede like creatures with heads for arms. They had over fifty heads per monster. Their boss was a combination of many other monsters. The monsters combined to form large humanoid structures. It held a sword made of other centipedes that merged together and fought me with it. Unfortunately, all it took was a single strike to finish it off.
It took a really short time when I found myself in the fifteenth floor. The monsters got a little stronger and fiercer after the fifth floor. That increased by the tenth floor and then the fifteenth.
The monster in the fifteenth floor was an armadillo. It coils its body around like a ball and spin fiercely. It was big and its shell was incredibly hard. Whenever it spun, all its shells are shot out like bullets. New ones get formed immediately after they are fired. It was hard to aim at. It kept ricocheting on the rocks and breaking the trees to get to me. The floor was cramped like a hole in the ground.
From there on out, the monsters only got stronger. It was no exaggeration to say they became stronger than the golden eagle from the nightmare forest. Which is to say I was getting closer to meeting a monster on the same level as the freezer.
The monsters in the nightmare forest are………… how should I put this? More simple in their build. Those in the dungeon are funny looking and some are outright disgusting. The monsters in the twenty fifth floor have the head of a goat, the body of a horse and the tail of a snake. It was somewhat disturbing for me. Their weapons were a blunt thick piece of wood with swollen ends. It was tougher than all the monsters in the dungeon so far. I had to use some of the abilities I had to defeat the floor boss.
I sensed danger up ahead after clearing that floor. I thought of calling it a day when I collected the dropped items and made my way out of there before I could get transported to the next floor.
All the dropped items I picked up were put inside the big back I took along with me. I had the Dauka in my pocket but it’s useless if I’m the one using it. I have to find someone to put the whole bag inside for me.
I left the danger at the perfect time. The guy I was looking for was in the staircase to the dungeon looking a little worried. He seemed to be looking for a partner to go into the dungeon with.
I made my way towards him while thinking of the best way to give him all the items I had with me when I heard his voice loud and clear.
“Ah! It’s you!”
He then rushed towards me like a child waving his hands.
“I’ve been waiting for you……….’ he cheerfully stood next to me with a smile.
Waiting for me? I thought that he was going into the dungeon again.
I kept quiet and listened to what he had to say.
“Please allow me to thank you for saving my life the other day. I’ve been coming here since then with the hopes of meeting you. Thank god I was able to see you today………..”
Coming here everyday? Just to see me? Is this guy for real?
I was so shocked to hear that. I never thought that he would be humble enough to chase after me like that.
“It’s alright. I didn’t really do anything.” I bashfully looked away.
Telling me you’ve been wanting to see me when everyone hates me caught me off guard.
He went about how grateful he is when he got to the point “I know it isn’t much, but please let me buy you lunch. That’s the least I can do.”
Buy me lunch huh? Guess I can see what comes next.
I feel like I’m easily swayed by people. Mainly because I’m in need of friends.
Going with him I shouldn’t have done. After I accepted his invitation, we walked down to where Duddul was waiting for me below the first stair and made our way towards a restaurant.
The restaurant was not too far away from the dungeon from the front. I had thought that he was going to treat me to something nice for saving his life, but I was gravely mistaken.
The restaurant he took me to was so run down we were the only customers inside. It was owned by green haired elves just like him. What they served us tasted awful even Meila could cook better than that. It was a tough situation for me. I had to eat to show my appreciation to his generosity.
The most awkward moment was when he tried paying for the food. It seems he miscalculated and the money he had wasn’t enough to cover what he ordered. He was left with a debt in the end.
I could have paid for it if I had wanted but it was amusing to me so I let him go through the trouble.
We then walked around the city while I held on Duddul’s rope.
He once again told me about his dream of becoming a merchant. When I told him how great of an idea it is, he excitedly asked me to become a merchant together with him.
“.……………” I didn’t know what to say.
“Oh, sorry. No one will want to team up with me. I’m just a coward who cant even fight weak monsters.
I felt guilty all of a sudden.
“No that’s not it………. you know what? I have an idea.” to get his mood back to normal.
I called him over to an ally then dropped the bag on my back. I took out the Dauka from my pocket and gave it to him.
Since he wants to be a merchant, then he at least has a pass to the capital right? I’m going to give him an errand to the gate town where Wrok is.
I told him to put the bag inside. It was a new Dauka, only the stuff I wanted to give him before was inside. Now with the new bag; dropped items from level 1 to 25 are inside.
“I have a friend in the gate town. I want you to take the items inside to him. How about we use the money to buy all the necessary items required to becoming a merchant?”
“.……….!!?? you mean you are going to help me!? I-I cant do that! I owe you enough as it is!”
“Don’t worry. It’s really no big deal. Your dream is more important. You’ll find his shop easily if you ask around. Tell him to give me 50 gold coins for all of them.”
I got on Duddul and immediately raced away from that spot. He cant return the Dauka to me if I’m not there.
I waved bye at him and continued on towards home. Or at least that’s where I wanted to go.
But I couldn’t. some external force was pulling me to a certain location. I flew after getting out of the city. My destination was obvious.
Meila……. I know I promised to stay away from Lust, but I’m afraid I cant keep that promise. My heart will tear away if I did that.
I have…….. to see her again!
