Chapter 31:

Play Fighting

God Games

Every deity in this lobby was looking at them, accepting who would win; the match, however, wasn’t going to be close.

He can't help but be honest and true to his morals. All I need is a dirty trick to bury him forever.

Falsity spoke up, “The loser dies forever; those are the conditions, no coming back ever.”

Even death itself existed in the deity world, not physically, but just like any other magical creation, they would blot out their existence, never to leave a trace. It was a fitting end for those who couldn't prove themselves.

“That's fine with me,” his firm stance and voice yielded authority.

The deities in the room gasp; never throughout these thousands of years have deities ever waged anything against each other or even battled against each other.

“You are really naive, or perhaps overconfident. You will never match my power, even if it takes a million more years.”

Integrity puts his hand on his sword, both hands grasping the hilt, letting the silvery material reflect the lobby's light. He points towards her, clearly guarding his most important parts from attack.

Falsity runs towards him with a neutral expression, her scythe spun in her hand before she throws it towards him like a boomerang.

He blocks the throw, deflecting it away, sending it flying across the lobby. He charges, seeing an opportunity to get close to her.

“Naive,” the scythe turned suddenly with more speed than before, rolling back towards her grasp. If it were that easy, they wouldn't be deities, however.

Integrity blocked with his sword, then twisted his body as much as possible to kick towards her.

These battles are so outdated; I will play with him more for now, I suppose.

She dodges the kick before grabbing the flying scythe back into her hands.

Falsity laughs, “You learnt a couple of moves. Perhaps we shouldn’t allow our abilities to be used and just brawl it out weapon to weapon.”

Integrity agrees, “I think that's fair.”

That's the first stage done.

She puts her scythe into both of her hands before slanting it around her body, clearly a mocking gesture for him to charge at her.

“So be it.” He runs over his armour, thudding the ground beneath. His blade swinging upwards, trying to slice the scythe into two.

The hit connects, making the immense pressure of his power stagger Falsity back. She never felt that brute strength before, but her smirk never faltered.

She taps around him, her moves slow and graceful, her scythe spun widely into circles, preventing any angle from being attacked, the speed of the turning causing it to produce a pale white and black afterimage.

I have more important matters to attend to after all; maybe I should just finish this.

She clearly starts thinking in the middle of battle, the threat in front of her being described as a mere annoyance rather than an actual challenge.

“Don't underestimate me!” He shouted those words as he dashed into her spinning scythe, the blade pointed straight towards her face.

The aftermath of his strike left the scythe unable to spin; however, it also wedged his sword in between the handle and the sharp point, trapping it.

Quickly pulling in her scythe causes him to follow through, preventing disarmament; however, the next moment, they are incredibly close. That's exactly what she wished.

She drops the scythe before grabbing his face firmly. Her cold finger was rough around his skin, staring into his red eyes. Her gaze pierced through whatever confidence he had left.

Stabbing her foot down onto the ground, she makes a void black portal around them. From the bottom of the abyss, pairs of pale white tentacles emerged from below, slowly making their way around his body, seizing him firmly to prevent escape.

“You're using magic; that's against the rules.” He looked back towards Justice, waiting for her to intervene; however, she didn't move a single bit. Her eyes gleamed with amusement and indifference at the battle unfolding.

That's right, me being true to myself and lying isn't unjust in her eyes. You sealed your fate the moment you wanted a blade fight.

The tentacles were already around his torso; any escape was impossible. They shoved down thoroughly as his body, trying to stand up, started to sink deeper into the abyss below.

Every deity that looked at the betrayal of set rules was outraged by the development. They didn't deem this as enjoyable, yet they wouldn't prevent this themselves out of fear for their lives.

The purity division didn't move either. They could sense Justice's decision and decided that whatever she said was final; they couldn't argue against the most just deity to exist, as that would be a betrayal of her and their own values of intervening between a promise.

“I'm glad they see the difference between us now. You did well for the weakest member, but you are too exploitable.” She let go of his face before waving him goodbye.

He didn't scream or shout at her, just a cold glare, knowing he was outplayed.

The abyss below closed up fully, leaving the lobby back to its original state. All their eyes were still glued to Falsity as she stood with her scythe in her hands.

Killing the other traitor would also be beneficial.

She turns around, seeing Era sitting down watching with a fearful expression; her plan to get rid of Falsity with the help of Purity members didn't succeed, and she knew this was going to be her end.

Falsity threw the scythe at her full power towards her; it broke through the sound barrier as it spun towards her, impossible to avoid.

Era closed her eyes fully, waiting for death, but it didn't come. She opened them slowly, seeing a small frame blocking the scythe between her fingers, her golden hair all over the seat of the table, while her white and gold linen clothing fluttered backwards from the impact of the blade.

“You won't die today,” her soft voice spoke out.

Turning around, she had golden eyes that bore a slight grudge towards Falsity.

“I wasn't expecting you to stop me. Isn't it fair they both suffer justice?” She gave a mock comment.

Justice shook her head. “She isn't part of the duel. I won't allow her to die. Give up, and I will return your scythe.”

She walked over to Justice, standing just next to the seat where Justice blocked the scythe. She took a firm hold of her scythe back into her hands before uttering in annoyance.

“Fine”

Justice lets go of the scythe before instantly vanishing herself back towards the purity decision, like she didn't run but teleported around casually.

Falsity takes a seat back to where she was before, staring at the surprised scene that just unfolded; she makes her scythe fall through the same void like before, making it disappear.

She gives a small smirk towards the three of them. “Should we get back to business then, so-called ally?”
