Chapter 30:
God Games
“I'm not going to waste time; we are going to combine our representatives.” Falsity stood on business instantly.
Koraxa adds on, each word making Falsity shiver, “What powers do your representatives have, Lady Falsity?”
“That’s the next step. I'm assuming you both have powerful users if they survived that. My team, however, is worthy of this.”
Era stated bluntly, “My ability given is using logical reasoning to find a flaw within a person's power or body; then that person will be afflicted with such weakness.”
Manipulation of truth through reasoning; that's an extremely useful team ability. My devoted will thank you personally later.
“That's extremely useful against the likes of purity; mortals will always give themselves some sort of reason or explanation to win after all,” Falsity laughed to herself.
Koraxa stones grind “Mine can fly at immense speed; that's it…”
They all let out a sigh. From all the elements, he decided that just flight was enough?
useless ability in terms of teamwork, but getting that for my devoted would allow her to spread chaos through the games, especially considering there are still over thirty participants, based on the number of deities
“Silas, what about you? Your whole team survived after all,” Era said, not even bothering to look towards him.
He clears his throat. “I spread mine to four different categories. I have a user who can summon mechanical guns out of thin air, powered by magic. I have one that has access to mechanical shoes and fists, making him a close-range expert.”
That's a good balance; he knows what he wants.
“The third can order an army of puppets; however, they are limited to the number of people she took.”
That explains how they survived the eclipseion
“My wild card is a living clock tower, be it reverse, forward or even frozen in time. They are a living reincarnation of time.” He gives a slight grin. This ability was definitely a threat to Falsity and Purity alike.
Falsity smirks back, “What's the condition? I refuse to acknowledge that a god like you could achieve limitless time manipulation.”
“Of course, there are limitations, but I don't plan to give those away to anyone. I'm sure you can understand, Lady Falsity.”
She nodded reluctantly, knowing that she was going to mass-produce lies anyway in mere moments.
“Mine can cover us in a fog, nullify any ability of one person, and one has no powers whatsoever, while the last one can block anything with an orb,” she smiled towards the group.
Era chimes in. “Truth, truth, truth and then lie. Despite your best attempt at hiding it, your facade can't hide what works internally without you knowing: facial expressions, muscles moving, or the tone of your voice and phrasing.”
“You have nerve for a goddess of science, someone made purely for mortals to evolve. Aren’t you no better than their slave?” There was a hint of condescension.
Era laughs that the whole lobby turned their attention towards them before shouting out, “All of you, do you really intend for this fool to enter our games? She even lies to her own allies.”
Why would any of them care? And even if they did, then it wouldn’t matter since only a handful can stop me.
Her glance wavers towards the purity division, watching the sudden announcement as one of the members stood up.
He had battle armour compared to a knight shining white and gold, just like their signature style. His white hair went down to his neck while his red eyes glared towards the group.
He exclaimed in a commanding voice, “This goddess should not be allowed. I agree with the honoured goddess of science. There was a reason for banishment to begin with, as an overthrow plot was discovered with her name written everywhere.”
The deities all glanced towards her, whispers spread, and the sound of people debating whether it was fair or not to allow such a person into the god games was even necessary.
Falsity laughs internally to herself: 'Got outplayed by another betrayal. It won't matter to me; they aren't ready for an order change.'
“I order them to beat in the games, not with mere words or insults. I welcome all challenges.”
The room fell silent before the god with his armour spoke up, his aura flooding the area.
“Why not have a battle between us deities? That's how we asserted our dominance back in the old days, didn't we, Falisty?" His tone carried criticism and a disgust towards her very existence.
She stood up from the seat on the table in the corner, her gaze aligned across the other corner where Purity sat.
Walking towards them with heavy steps. Each could shatter any floor just from the loud footsteps alone, her aura expanding outward, trying to match that of the presence of his challenge.
“Fine, I won't back away from a fight. But you sure are naive. I wouldn't call that a part of your stance, Sir Integrity.” She put her hands together, prepared to begin.
Integrity laughed ather remarks. “I really hated you the moment you came back, trying to overthrow our order to claim the title of true deity for yourself, and now you can freely walk like nothing happened.”
“At least you're being honest about it being your order and that you despise it; getting rid of you will somewhat benefit me, it seems.” Her hands clapped three times before a black portal from the ground appeared.
It was like the one in the summoning ritual; there was no colour, just a void you couldn't see past. From the bottom of that void, a pure black scythe emerged; it was covered with pale white vines surrounding it, giving it an ominous light.
She gripped the scythe in her right hand, spinning it around like it weighed nothing.
using you finally after all this time, I'm glad we can reunite
Integrity, seeing the accepted challenge, takes out his sword upwards into the air until a sword manifests into his hands; it was made of a pure silver-like material from his power, making it able to challenge that of the scythe.
Two opposites will begin their clash against each other: Falsity, the one built on lies and deceit, and Integrity, which is made of honesty and strong, unchanging values.
