Chapter Seventy: Under Surveillance

The dungeon is like a stress reliever to me. I always want to go there when something depressing happens to me.

I went on a market date with Meila when we accidentally bumped into Leila. We were all shocked at the encounter. However, Leila disappeared on us immediately without a single word between us. Not so much as a greeting. 

That left Meila and I devastated. 

Parting ways with Meila at the market after Leila shunned and ran away from us, I automatically found myself in the dungeon.

The levels were far different from all the ones I’ve fought in in the past. The monsters were incredibly tough, I fought with all my abilities. Some were on the same level as the Freezer while some were stronger. The only reason I was able to clear the levels was because I had multiple skills from so many monsters up my sleeves. I dedicated the fight to finding out the monsters weakness then using a skill I have to counter it. 

No man alone will be able to fight solo in the dungeon like I did. The monsters were everywhere and the floor bosses were twice as strong.

A whole week passed by after our meeting with Leila. I spent most of that time in the dungeon and visited Lust when I needed emotional support. Just being with her makes me forget everything, even the thing that happened with Leila. I’m able to rest as much as I want and take it easy when she’s around me. She always livens up the mood by telling me stories about this world and some important things.

I almost wish I can just stay there with her forever. But for her sake and for my sake, I have to get a lot stronger than I am right now. 

On one rainy day, something strange happened to me in the dungeon. Instead of getting teleported to the higher floors I was in, I got sent to a floor I had cleared a while back. It was the fifteenth floor.

I tried going out of the dungeon through the black veil but couldn’t. if this were a game, I would call it a crappy game. Then I tried checking out the floor to see what had happened.

In this dungeon, it’s almost impossible to meet people unless you entered together. I found no monsters even as I searched through the floor. That shouldn’t have been the case.

I then remembered the ordeal with Figlo. The only time I met people inside was when I found him caught by the goblins. What if something similar is happening right now?

I ran straight up to the boss room to check things out.

What awaited me there was a terrible sight. The boss was just about to be defeated using a combo attack from two adventurers, but on the ground laid two other adventurers. They were flat on the ground with an insane amount of blood spurting out from them.

“It’s you……!!” their attention turned to me after slaying the boss.

The boss caught onto flames and then disappeared instantly from their combo attack. 

It’s you? I think that’s my line. 

“Deram…………”

It’s them. The group of adventurers who tried using me for their benefits.

Deram had all his attention to me when Sikk called out “Forget about him. Cant you see they are dying!?” while rushing towards the two girls on the floor.

Deram followed after him in a panic.

“Stay with us!! Please!!” he cried out.

What happened here? They all look so badly injured and the two girls are far worse than the boys.

The close fighter and the distance fighter. When it comes down to it, they are at more risk of getting injured. Especially the close fighter. The long distance fighter is usually stationary.

It was a sad moment for all of them. The girls were half conscious due to loss of blood. Their faces and hands were covered in blood.

The boys cried profusely holding onto their hands. Non of them could use healing magic.

They were mean to me and only treated me kindly when they thought I was of any use to them.

The are bad people but still, I have to help them!!

My body moved before I could order it to. I didn’t know if I could be of any help to them this time around as well but I had to do something. 

“Move away!!” I said to the boys as I pulled the girl with the staff up towards my body.

“What are you……!!” they tried fighting back.

I neglected all their protest when I continued what I was doing. I pulled her head to my head and closed my eyes without thinking. 

“SMOOCH!” our lips met.

“KKKYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!” she screamed fiercely.

The scream was so loud, It lasted  minutes. None of the boys was able to move as she screamed. Their knees vibrated from the scream. They fell on their knees with their ears blocked using both hands.

I only held on to her for a short moment. I let go of her and kissed the other girl while she was still on the floor.

As the first girl I kissed screamed louder than ever on her feet, the other one vibrated strongly making a deep hole in the ground. They both ended up making holes into the ground from the vibrations. 

This time around, I didn’t try to reduce the damage by protecting them with my barrier. I moved away and watched as they lost control of themselves. 

The ground vibrated and the ceiling started caving in with huge rocks falling at intervals.

Minutes later when the screams had subsided, Deram and Sikk crawled over to me in agony. Their ears spilling blood.

“You…what did you do…………..!!” “What did you do to them!!??”

Meanwhile the girls went on a rampage. They became incredibly strong from the saliva I gave to them. They all used their strength to it’s fullest going on a rampage. 

It got dangerous for all of us on the floor. Rocks fell down from the ceiling and the girls started attacking their friends. They were in a trance state.

All their injuries were gone but the energy inside of them was not spent. It had to be spent before they could return to normal. As such, they went haywire using up their magic. 

The boys gave up on hitting me to dodge the attacks from the girls.

I did what i could to help them. Their injuries were healed and now even have strength to spare. 

"Try surviving until the regain control of themselves. I did what I can do to help by healing them." O said to the boys getting ready to leave. 

Just as I was about to turn back, light glowed from my feet and covered me instantly. It became incredibly bright I couldn’t open my eyes.

Then the light disappeared seconds later. When I opened my eyes, I was on a different floor. A floor to which I had never been before.

This must be it. The 49th floor which I was supposed to be on today. 

The floor was made of nothing but air. Looking down at my feet, clouds floated below me. It was as though I was standing on air but at the same time, I felt a hard object like a glass below my feet.

What is going on?

Hard to believe that I’m actually in a dungeon right now. Moreover, it is rather acceptable to think that I’m above it. But then again, there is no sign of it below me. I’m certain that a building that big cannot be missed from close.

The recent floors until now have all proved challenging. It’d be no exaggeration to say that I managed to clear them with sheer determination. The monsters aren’t weak to my sword, their magic hurts me badly and their intelligence is really high.

I heard that most parties never make it to the 30th floor. I’m extraordinarily special to have made it this far fighting solo aren’t I?

Maybe I’ll be able to clear the whole dungeon if I try a little bit harder. But is it possible for me to try harder? I’m at my limit here fighting all these monsters. Though the good thing is “I get stronger each time I defeat a monster and absorb the dropped items left behind. That way the next opponent wont be much of a pain in the neck for me.

I want to hurry up and reach the hundredth floor. Cant wait to see how………………..

“URGH!”

“It hurts…………”

This pain? What is it? Huh………….?
