Chapter 39:
Rockstar Isekai: fighting against Silence
A red horse landed on the ground in front of them. It was covered with an aggressive red armor and carried on his back a knight.
The latter wore a rampant crimson armour and held in his hands a broadsword covered in blood that poured on the ground.
What Natsuo thought was rain, was actually the blood that dripped from that horrifying weapon.
That knight was War.
Natsuo smirked. “Well, at least we found him.”
“No, no, no… Not well! I’m going to throw up again” Tristan replied, gripped by fear.
War raised his greatsword and cut the air vertically. A wave of blood rose from the ground and advanced toward the carriage, destroying it on the impact.
The four of them fell on the ground, while the horse tried to run away.
The Vassal pointed his greatsword to the creature and a column of blood pierced it.
The red horse approached the column and War started to wound the animal’s corpse with cruelty.
The four guys all freezed. The Vassal radiated a terrifying aura that blocked their bodies with fear.
They watched him, horrified, while he mercilessly cut into slices the dead horse. The worst thing was that he seemed to be having fun.
After a few cuts, War lost interest in the corpse and pointed his broadsword toward them. If he had a face, in that moment he would have surely had a defiant grin printed on it.
Natsuo held his scythe tightly. It wasn’t time to hesitate.
He got up and leapt forward to reach the Vassal, charging a blow.
War swung his greatsword and released a wave of blood that hit Natsuo.
The impact was stronger than he could imagine. He felt as if someone had thrown a brick in his stomach and fell on the ground, his body aching.
Seeing Natsuo taking the initiative, Gregory got up and ran toward the Vassal.
He jumped, raised his club and let it fall on the knight.
War parried the blow with his greatsword and pushed Gregory away without effort.
Olive summoned a batch of explosives and threw them to the Vassal.
The knight pointed his sword to her direction and all the vials in the air blew up before they could reach him, pierced by strings of blood.
While the knight’s vision was disturbed by the smoke, Tristan took the chance and tried to attack him with his rod.
The Vassal predicted his moves and pushed him away with a wave of blood.
When the smoke thinned out, War was still riding his horse fiercely, completely unharmed.
Natsuo clenched his fists. They didn’t even lay a finger on him.
The Vassal seemed to be glancing at them amusedly, as if he was enjoying their impotence.
Everyone stared at the red knight, overwhelmed by his strength. They started to question if just the four of them would have been enough to defeat him.
Natsuo shook his head. There was no time for despair and he still had an ace up his sleeve. He used the skill SPEAKERS and put on a playlist with speed and strength attributes.
Gregory understood on the fly and lunged toward the Vassal.
They crossed their weapon, but this time, Gregory’s strength could compete with War’s. He resisted for a moment, then molten metal spinned around the Vassal’s arm and solidified in a blade.
War’s right arm rolled on the ground.
Tristan twirled his rod and pointed to the knight. A rain of stalactites hurled against him.
The attack forced the Vassal to dodge the pieces of ice and come closer to Natsuo.
The latter lunged a strike and cut War’s other arm. The knight’s greatsword fell on the ground with the Vassal’s hand still enveloped on the handle.
Natsuo smirked. They just had to adjust to his fighting style and it was taken care of. He was ready to strike another blow, but his smirk faded.
War’s arms regrew quickly and his greatsword materialized in his hands.
He turned to Natsuo and aggressively started to attack him.
The boy dodged all the blows easily with the help of the speed attribute, but War didn’t let him breathe.
He fiercely swung his greatsword, seeming to have fun trying to catch Natsuo, who was like a small insect that was running away.
Tristan and Gregory joined the fight to help Natsuo.
Tristan slammed his rod on the ground and ice thorns rose under the knight.
The Vassal dodged them, but his horse was hit by a club.
Gregory had positioned himself where he predicted the knight would have moved and waited for the right time to hit him. Thanks to the increased speed it was a lot easier.
Ice thorns kept on growing where War’s horse stepped and Gregory hit it every time he dodged them.
The red horse was getting dizzy after all that blows and War was struggling to take care of the three of them.
Natsuo joined Gregory in his strategy and it looked like they were playing ping pong with the horse. Everywhere the Vassal turned, there was one of those two ready to hit him.
Tristan blocked him in an ice cage and lunged with his rod to hit him.
When he was about to reach him, War raised his greatsword toward the sky and released a circular wave of blood around him.
The liquid crashed the cage and hit the three of them.
Tristan was pushed away by the impact, as well as Gregory and Natsuo.
Natsuo fell on the ground, stunned by the hit. The blood had hit him directly in his stomach for the second time. He was getting dizzy and felt the urge to vomit.
Sensing the bad condition of his prey, War turned abruptly to him. He immediately rushed toward him and raised his greatsword.
Drops of blood dripped from his weapon and poured on Natsuo.
The boy looked up. The Vassal’s figure was towering over him.
War let his greatsword drop from above, ready to strike the final blow.
“Natsuo!”
