Chapter 19:
Engulfed in Darkness - Becoming a Villain in Another World (Part II)
*Big Author's Note - Hello everyone! I apologise for the lack of posting over the past two months. I sort of lost all motivation to write Engulfed in Darkness, however, I am determined to finish this book, no matter what. The rest of the arcs after this (which is techically 3 big arcs and the final arc, making up the final saga) will be completed, even though some of the chapters might be slightly shorter than the 1,000 word mark. Thank you so much for understanding!*
Wisteria jumped backwards, trying to keep her thoughts calm. Even with her new abilities, she felt as if Tomokazu's stalling did so much more damage. Why? Was she really this weak?
"Wisteria," Tomokazu spoke firmly. "Please retreat for now, and let me take this guy head on!"
"What?! Why?!" Wisteria yelped. "Do you think I'm holding you back?"
"Nope. In fact, much to the contary, I think your power is much greater than mine," Tomokazu smiled at her. "However, I can see your passion isn't in it. Even though you know that it's not Hiroshi, you won't go all out against the Desecrators because they look like him. Am I correct?"
Wisteria grumbled to herself. For once, Tomokazu was right. She couldn't bear to hurt a person that even resembled Hiroshi. It was almost possible to even look at the robot. Wisteria nodded to her friend as she began to descend. However, just as she was about to hit the floor, Number Two dashed forward in the air.
"Watch out, Wisteria!" Tomokazu barked, but it was too late. Number Two slammed his body against her, causing her to fly straight into a nearby building. Concrete and windows alike exploded, and the building slightly swayed with the impact. Tomokazu punched the air, trying his best to put some distance in between the Desecrator and Wisteria.
Number Two darted through the air, making sure that he just about dodged all of Tomokazu's moves. He was far too fast for the young man, and he dashed forward so fast, Tomokazu just about seen him within a fraction of a millisecond as he caught Number Two's foot, spun him around, and threw him to the ground, where Bibi jumped out of the way of the impact.
"Crap!" She fell to the floor as she yelped out. She turned over onto her back, and laid on her side as she looked into the smoke that was now forming due to the concrete taking the full hit of Number Two. There the imposter stood, almost completely unphased by the attack.
He turned to face Bibi as she desperately put up a hand to stop him from getting to the fight. Stalling him. Anything. She needed to prove her worth. That she was still powerful enough to contend with her peers and other powerful foes.
"Huh? Really?" Number Two scoffed. "Don't even try it. Just a waste of your energy."
Bibi froze for a moment. A single tear ran down her cheek. She wanted to say that he was wrong. That she was strong. That she was powerful. Thats she could protect her friends. Everything. However, she knew the truth better than anyone. Dust began flying into her eyes. In a panic, she opened her palm and fired a huge blast at Number Two, only for him to step out of the way.
Using light speed, he jumped forward and grabbed her hand tightly. Bibi yelled loudly in pain as her hand began to get crushed.
"No wonder Anwir remade you. You are such a worthless stain on the world," Number Two giggled to himself. "You are so weak! Why even bother fighting at all at this point?!"
"Remade...me?" Bibi managed to struggle out those two words during the pain. Just as the Desecrator opened his mouth to respond, Tomokazu came out of no where and flew through the air, grabbing the man attacking his girlfriend by the waist and smashing the both of them into the solid, brick wall that lined around the whole city.
Bibi had that same memory that had be constantly replaying in her mind for a decade. The day Aiai died. Her sister and Anwir were trying to make her stronger. If she wasn't so weak, Aiai would still be alive.
The better sister.
Tomokazu flew past her and hit the ground with a thud, bricks flying with him as he smashed into the road, his body laid still no more than ten feet away from Tomokazu's. He struggled to get up as he coughed up blood.
"He's...strong..." he whispered to himself. With even stronger Desecrators to come in the future, it wasn't looking bright. The second weakest Desecrator glided from the spot he was hit to on the wall and landed softly between the pair.
"That's it? You guys were disappointing," the Desecrator sighed. "Oh well. I guess I can start by killing you, Bibi. Get in favour with your father. I hope you understand. It isn't personal," he gained a crazed smiled as he opened his palm, attempting to swallow her whole with his darkness manna.
"No!" Tomokazu cried out, but he was too late to react. Bibi was going to be absorbed.
That was, until his hand was taken clean off.
It flew high into the air, a dark aura emitting from the open wound as it soared ten feet before falling to the floor. The robot looked on in shock as his head slowly creaked around to see his attacker. There, Hiroshi was standing about fifty paces away. His right side (from his perspective) was the exact same. However, the left hand side of his body was completely dark and scary, minus one, bright orb that covered where Hiroshi's old eye used to be.
"B-But how?!" Number Two gaped. It was the first time in his short life anybody had gotten the drop on him.
"I can cut through the darkness now, as long as I give half of my body to Kuro-Yami," he winked with his 'good' side. "Since the tall wall and building are so close to where we are, there are plenty of shadows to use at my dispposal. Kuro-Yami can use the darkness to his advantage." The young man smiled.
"Now, how do you feel about being sold for scrap, trash?"
