CHAPTER 8: The Special Tournament: "The First Kill"

Ajib used his detail-vision ability and could instantly see the name and all the stats of the person in front of him.

Ajib thought to himself, This is terrifying.
But to his surprise, Yero left without even noticing him.

Ajib slowly stood up, his entire body still trembling. Suddenly, a notification appeared:

If you take heavy damage during gameplay, you have three chances to fully heal yourself.

Without hesitation, Ajib clicked the button, and in an instant, all his wounds vanished.

He then began thinking about his next move. Placing a hand over his eyes, he realized that his level had increased significantly — and so had his ability. Now, when he looked at someone, he could see their full stats and location instantly.

Looking around, he noticed Yero lying dead at the intersection below. How could such a powerful player die like this? he wondered.

Then, in the elevator area below, he saw something strange — thick roots spread all over, and a man standing among them. Ajib checked his details.

Ajib thought, This one is strong…

Suddenly, he remembered that Rax had given him an ability before he returned. He also recalled buying a sword infused with poison.

I have to act now.

Without hesitation, he jumped down, slashing as he landed. Grasshopper’s HP dropped instantly from 500 to 300 — but Ajib didn’t waste time checking. Instead, he took out a card from his inventory, crushed it in his hand, and received a new notification:

You have unlocked the ability: Speed Dash.

In the blink of an eye, Ajib dashed out of the building, using his detail-vision to track Grasshopper’s exact position from outside. He sheathed his poison sword — No point using this; poison won’t work on him.

Instead, he pulled out his dagger. This is my only chance.

In an instant, Ajib appeared right in front of Grasshopper.

Grasshopper, clearly surprised, said,
"Where did you come from?!"

"Well, that means there were more players here."
Suddenly, Grasshopper realized that his throat had been cut.

As he was dying, he said to Ajib, “How did you… how did you know that I’m here… and now I am—”
Before he could finish, his body disappeared from the spot.

A notification popped up in front of Ajib: The total income of the person you killed is 40 querytrillion. Since this was your first kill, you have earned an additional 10 taka.

Ajib realized that the person he had just killed was one of the biggest boons in the game—and now that boon had come to him.
“This is my chance,” Ajib thought. “I have to make the most of it.”

Ajib decided to camp inside the hotel. But suddenly, the building began to shake.
He couldn’t understand what was happening until another notification appeared:
SPECIAL TOURNAMENT: NATURAL DISASTER

Ajib realized that earthquakes existed in this world just like in real life. Quickly, he smashed the window and jumped out. The building turned to dust right before his eyes.

Another notification appeared, but before Ajib could read it, he saw someone emerging from the smoke. He quickly hid in a hole nearby.

Using his detail-view ability, Ajib identified the person.

Weapon Ability (Clone Making): Each bullet from the gun can clone itself as many times as it wants, even penetrating the body, scattering, and coming out again.

Reo looked around, found nothing, and left.

Ajib came out from his hiding place and checked his notification.
It read: Because you killed Grasshopper, you have obtained one of his abilities.

Ajib clicked the “Yes” button, and a message appeared:

New Ability Unlocked: Recover 2% of your Energy and HP every 2 seconds.
