Chapter 97:

Chapter Ninety Seven: Rage

SAVING THE DEMON QUEEN IN ANOTHER WORLD

How can this be…………? who on earth did this?
It’s been a really long time since any of my nightmares turned into reality. The exact picture I pictured in my dream was revealing itself. Erla was in my hands unconscious. Her ears cut off.
It was as if the dream was repeating itself. I left the house from my room’s window and flew straight to the slave house. In my dreams, I saw how I flew out of my house. The surprising thing is that, not a single thing was different. I couldn’t think clearly at the time and I didn’t have the time to change my actions so that the events will change.
I crashed into the roof of the slave house in the exact room Erla was. I had already seen it in my dreams. The slave house is big and wide. It’s made of woods and the painting is also dark brown in color. From above, it looks like a wide family house that can accommodate several families. It’s rooms and lands are numerous.
The room I crashed in was in the middle of that house. It was a wide room with custom made chairs, tables and other instruments for torture. New and dried blood were painted on the walls, floor and the tables.
On the floor, I found Erla unconscious. Her ears have been cut. She had several other cuts on her body. Even her lips were dry.
The green dress she wore was all torn and soaked in blood. I picked her up in my hands in a panic “Erla!!”
There didn’t seem to be anyone else in the room. Footsteps with blood on them could be seen leaving the room. Whoever did this to her was still in the slave house.
I was still in a panic. The blood in most of her body had stopped but her ears weren’t about to stop dripping anytime soon.
Elves take great pride in their heritage. To lose a head is better than losing an ear. An elf is no different than a human without his long ear.
“I have to heal her.”
The only way I knew how to heal was by kissing. I prepared myself by removing all negative emotions and hoping for her recovery.
That was when a lot of noise came from the other parts of the house.
“We have an intruder!!”
In a matter of seconds, the door was forcefully opened from the outside and several people gushed in all at once.
“Who in the world are you!!??” their voices raised to their peaks. They all shouted and murmured at the same time.
I couldn’t careless about them at the time. My attention was on Erla. The only thoughts in my head were on how to heal her. I didn’t even notice them in the room.
Ignoring all those glares and weapons aimed at me, I proceeded to move my head with pursed lips towards her.
“BAAAM!!.”
The next thing I knew, I was engulfed in a sea of flames with my King barrier protecting me. They started attacking.
I looked around the room with the flames burning away. The whole room was blown to bits. It seems the explosion was meant to destroy the whole room. The walls on each side were destroyed. I could see the insides of the surrounding rooms from where I was.
The floor still burnt and the fragments of the room were still burning. From the place where the entrance was just a while ago. Several people glared at me. They were of different races. At least two people from each race.
My mind was still not calculating correctly. Instead of facing the enemies or making my way out of there, I once again looked back at Erla.
I was going to kiss her again when dozens of sounds came from my barrier “KAM! KAM! KAM!”
They were arrows, dozens of arrows rained on me from the enemies direction.
A the time, it didn’t occur to me that the people attacking me were the ones who injured Erla. My brain was subconsciously telling me to heal her first then worry about other things.
That change after the next attack landed. A huge sword slashed at me from above. It collided with my barrier and made a reverberating sound.
That was the trigger to my emotions. I was able to see the attacker clearly after looking up. It was a demi-human man with dog ears. He swung a sword several times bigger than mine. His arms looked like they would break because of the weight of the sword. or that’s how it’s supposed to be.
With my eyes fixed at him, he landed on top of my barrier with his huge sword. He then raised his sword up in the sky and landed a powerful strike to my barrier.
He repeated the process a lot trying to break my barrier. The fact that they are enemies only came to me in that moment.
Bad-ump Bad-ump!
“You……..!! you did this to Erla!!” a wave of energy in the form of wind left my body instantly. It was so strong the other rooms were affected by the wind. The furniture were sent crashing to the walls.
The enemies barely managed to stay on their feet using magic.
“You’ll pay for this!”
I turned to Erla and swiftly kissed her. I had already made preparations before hand. Only the energy she needs to heal will be sent to her from that kiss.
I dropped her on the floor then stood up facing the enemies “You’ll pay! All of you……………!!”
Looking at them clearly, I was speechless to see some people I once knew among them.
Orthin? Kervas?
The two guys who made my life miserable in this world.
What are they doing here? Doesn’t Kervas work for that noble? What is he doing in a slave house? And what of Orthin? Why is he here?
I froze at their sights. I haven’t seen either of them since coming to the capital. I didn’t think I would meet them again so soon.
My anger wasn’t subsiding. The puzzle of seeing two people I know kept me from acting. The anger was building up inside me like a volcano. I had always wanted to repay them for all they did to me. Now is the perfect time to make them pay for what they did to me and Erla.
They started whispering words like “He’s just a boy. Don’t panic.” among themselves.
My eyes were fixed on the two with Erla flat on the floor behind me.
Thinking I was out to get him from my reaction to them, Kervas asked “Who are you? Why are you here? Did someone send you?”
The others spoke as well “You don’t belong here. Unless you want to be turned into one of them, I suggest you get going.”
“Don’t worry about him guys. He’ll make a good target for practice.”
My anger was reaching a critical level as they spoke.
You’ll pay! You’ll pay! You’ll pay!!
I was ready to fight them even though I knew I wouldn’t be allowed to do that. Fighting them head on that is. But I can still use my chains to suck out their energy then finish them off.
A huge shield appeared two meters above my head. It was the demon shield I used to stop those heroes back then.
They yelled after seeing my shield “What the hell!!?” “It’s him!” “It’s the demon!!”
It seems word about my shield has reached everyone. They knew it was me from just that. That means my mask is no longer useful against them.
Having recognized me, Kervas pulled out a dagger and jumped at me “You, how dare you show yourself after what you’ve done to my lord!! Give back his property!”
He was whipped away by my chains before he could come close. Two thick chains tied his whole body together holding him in the air. He couldn’t even struggle. He was weak to begin with. What little energy he had got sucked away almost immediately.
He managed to utter a few words in that condition “You’ve gotten strong.”
I used the chains to whip him into the wooden floor. The spot he collided with collapsed and he fell inside what seemed to be an underground room unconscious.
The others became scared. They knew they couldn’t take me on after knowing my true identity. Orthin was the first to turn tail “Let’s get out of here!”
I wasn’t about to let that happen. I released fourteen chains at them before they could leave the room. The chains were too fast for them to see coming.
In a similar manner I did to Kervas, I pulled him out and whipped all of them into the floor and the rest of the house. The shield rotated like a fan as they swung fiercely in the air destroying the walls of the other rooms.
In a matter of seconds. The part of the house we were in had all collapsed.
Without any energy to protect themselves, each collision was fatal for them. Their bloodied bodies continued to swing in the air. They couldn’t even let out a cry.
Even the heroes were made to become useless by my chains. Weak thugs like them could do nothing about it.
Anymore and they would die. But for some reason, I didn’t seem to care about that at all. Before I sucked out all their magic and kill them. I wanted to ask a last question.
I stopped swinging them and pulled Orthin’s chains to me. His body dropped on the ground. His body grind on the floor until he came very close to me.
“Orthin….. remember me?” I asked in an angry tone. His eyes were closed when I asked. I didn’t know if he heard me or not. It was just for a few seconds. Even a weakling should be able to talk with what little magic he has left.
Looking at him on the ground covered in blood like that, some of my senses returned to me.
“I’m trying to take someones life!” that fact hit me like a hurricane.
I’ve never killed anyone before. I’ve never even injured anyone from the races prior to this. What will happen if kill them? Will I become a bad person just like them?
The thought shook me a bit. I found myself releasing the chains from their bodies. I pulled the chains back to the shield when a contradicting thought came to me.
“They are bad guys right? You think they’ll become good guys just because you let them go now? You think Erla will forgive them? Don’t be stupid.”
That’s right. They wont change even if I forgive them now. In fact, only more victims will be made. I have to make sure nothing like this happens again.
I sent the chains back at each of them simultaneously. They served as my hands in exacting punishment. I started with Kervas who has lost consciousness.
I’m going to pull out all of his limbs from his body. It’s not my fault if he dies from that right?
I remember being treated like this once. The hero with the chains tortured me in that underground cave. He even tore off all my limbs from me. “If I survived after that then they should too right?”
I was not myself when all that was happening. An evil presence was overwhelming me taking control of my body.
I couldn’t make any difference from good or bad.
I raised Kervas’ body and moved it in front of me right below Orthin’s. these two guys harbor a lot of animosity towards me for no reason at all. What did I ever do to you? Especially you, Kervas. You are the reason Leila suffered so much. You betrayed her just to become a henchman for that noble. And Orthin betrayed me for the same reason as well. The world will be a better place if both of you are gone.
I moved the two chains and tightened them on his upper arm just below his shoulders. First I’ll start with his arms and then………
“Fault………” in a gasping voice, Orthin spoke. His voice was very low I couldn’t get what he was saying.
So you are still conscious?
I was able to hear him clearly the second time “Those kids……. your fault. You are………. an accomplice.”
Accomplice? What’s he going on about. Well, it doesn’t matter anyway. You are all going to “Pay!”
“Cough! Cough!”
I had completely forgotten about Erla behind me when she coughed strongly behind me.
“Erla!” I let go of all of them instantly.
I turned around quickly stomping the floor to get to her.
The first thing I noticed were her ears. They were there on her head like nothing happened to them before.
Thank goodness!
My eyes were fixed on her when he unexpected happened. The floor gave out collapsing down to the ground. Erla was about to fall inside when I jumped. I caught her in my arms before she fell and floated in the air.
That was close. I don’t know what’s below this room, but there seems be a lot of space beneath it.
The body of Orthin and the others fell inside with the floor. I couldn’t care less about them when I stared at Erla’s ears. They seem to have grown back just like they were before. She was now conscious and breathing normally even though she’s not awake.
I’m glad she’s alright after all that.
Feeling relieved she was safe, an unbearable stench sharply attacked my nose. It was a smell similar to dead animals.
“Where is it coming from?”
The whole floor had collapsed and all the enemies were buried down with the floor. I looked beneath me at the scattered woods. The space below was dark. That was where the smell came from.
“Now that Erla is fine, I don’t have to stay here anymore.” is what I was thinking as my eyes scanned through the space below me from the gaps of the crumbled floor.
I caught a glimpse of body parts inside. They were those of my enemies or so I wanted to think.
The only problem is that, my enemies were scattered around and these bodies were piled on top of one another. Not only that, the bodies were a lot smaller than the adult bodies that fell down a while ago.
Bad-ump! Bad-ump!
“What the hell is this!!”
Still in the air, I picked up the fragments of the floor with my right hand and threw them out of the room until there was nothing left.
It was an unbearable sight. The underground room was over three meter in height and five meters in width. But despite it’s size, it was filled with corpses.
The corpses were those of children who were tortured to death. The fresh ones on top looked recent. Their skins were becoming blue.
I breathed heavily in a panicked state. I’ve never seen anything like that before.
In that panic, my eyes scanned through the bodies as if searching for something. The enemies were all on top of the corpses unconscious.
Having finished scanning the piles bodies in front of me, I turned around to see the other ones.
“What’s this! What’s this! What’s this!” I was going crazy from both the smell and the shock.
The newest bodies were dumped in the area where I turned to.
BAD-UMP!!!!
My heart pounded stronger than it had ever done before. It almost exploded out of my chest.
My body was numb. I couldn’t even feel Erla’s body in my hand. I floated above the corpses horizontally with head facing the underground room.
What I saw there after turning around was despair.
A while back, I received a request from Orthin to deliver a letter to his father. I did so and the father wasn’t thankful for my work. I met some boys there and gave them the only gold coin I received from the old man because I didn’t want it.
What would you do if you saw the corpses of those same boys on top of other corpses right before your eyes?
“Ha-hh-ha-hh-hah!!” I gasped for air. I couldn’t breathe at all seeing those boys.
That was when I remembered what Orthin said. He said something about how it was my fault. He also mentioned something about ‘boys’. at the time, I had no idea what he meant by saying I was an accomplice. It became absurdly clear to me right after I saw them.
I was an accomplice indeed. That letter I took to the old man, what was written in it? An order for new slaves? What if it had been just that? I delivered a letter requesting the old man to send more slaves to the capital. He sent the boys I asked to guide me.
“No…….”
“Curse you!! curse you!! curse you!!!”
A black fog strongly oozed out of my body non stop. It was so thick nothing could be seen. The shock was too great for me to handle. I lost consciousness soon after that.

The fog continued to leave my body. It covered hundreds of meters in an instance. The alarm in the capital went of reacting to my fog. It was an energy on the same level as a demon lord. I lost consciousness. My body floated on it’s own crying louder than ever.
The destruction caused by that fog will only be known to me later on.
