Chapter 53:
God Games
Toki gave one final look towards Seraphine; her eyes were neutral. If this was what Elovia wanted, then she would be happy to fulfil her wish; however, it had to be someone who wasn’t a goddess and also someone who wasn't going to kill her out of hatred butfor someone else. He fit that perfectly.
I remember I wanted to make the people around me happy. I tried my hardest with Hiwo, yet he died. I'm trying with Ayuri, and so far it's working. If killing her will make her happy, then even if it goes against my morals, I will do it. It should be fine?
He grabs his spear tightly enough that he could strike her. A soft smile plastered around her face, happy at the decision he made
“Seraphine, will you take me to where we all end?” She spoke towards her.
The goddess only spoke two words: “I will.”
His hand lifted the spear. It wasn’t fast, but at a slow pace, preparing himself for what he was about to do. Ayuri was still locked behind her thoughts, not knowing what was about to happen, but that was for the better.
“I hope to carry on with your wish in mind. I will love Ayuri throughout my life, and I will make sure that we can share more moments like the ones we saw, from the old world and the new one. So please watch over us, Seraphine, as a goddess of love.”will.””
He turns the spear upside down, facing its black, sharp end towards Elovia. Turning his head away towards Ayuri, he closes his eyes.
I hope to forgive myself as well
The spear swiftly slashes down towards her neck, where a black line erupts across it, her heartbeat ending in an instant. It was a silent, quick and peaceful death that fulfilled her. Toki instantly let out a tear; the contract suppressing his emotions couldn't hold back his true feelings.
Ayuri snapped out of her daze. She quickly took in the situation at hand, her connection with Elovia instantly giving her an understanding, and she rushed over before wrapping her arms around Toki's back. Her grip was comforting and warm.
“I'm proud of you,”you,” a hushed voice entered his ear.
Their bodies together melted into each other. Seraphine couldn't help but let out a smile towards the sight; it was like her entire existence was being justified after all. They didn't even speak further to each other. Just an embrace
Seraphine takes hold of Elovias' body before gently dispersing it. She couldn't bear for anyone to see her anymore, anymore; then, without a word, giving them a final glance, she vanished into nothingness, leaving god games behind, letting the lovers have their own moment.
Her eyes met her usual room, a warm air giving way with a small breeze, splitting apart the warmth, giving a sense of freshness as she stood next to a water flowinganymore;-flowing fountain, the tranquillity of the little sounds giving her a sense of peace.
“Guess it's already that time”,-flowingtime,” she smiled widely, relief washed time,”washingover her.
She grabs her slender arms before kneeling and putting them inside the fountain water, letting the coldness wash over her. She looked down with warm eyes before a white rose started to manifest itself in her palm.
It had a white colour to it, just like her. She lets out a sigh.
“From the moment you came down to each world, I looked over you till the end, I cared for you till the end, and now this is where we all meet like promised”, shewashing.” She takes the lotus in her palm out of the water before letting herself stand up, the gown dressing flowing down on the stone flooring underneath.
She turns around before taking a few steps forward, her eyes staring off into the distance, taking in the endless amount of white roses that stretch beyond the infinite landscape of her room.
“This is your home for the time being,, she.” She.” She kneels once more before planting the white rose at the front of her infinite landscape, its colour contrasting with every other like a lone figure standing against the world.
Serpahine.” SheSeraphine looked down with a smile towards her white rose. This was the end of the line for not just the rose but also the gardener herself.
“I loSeraphine“I’veoked over everyone for a while now, thousands“I’ve of years. The;. The garden is full of everyone I loved, everyone who had wishes and dreams that were ended due to this world. You will take that on, won't you?”
The white rose gently swayed in the wind.
“Toki and Ayuri, their love will be your onlybasis; they won't ever forget us, and we won't forget them. In a world where love and betrayal don't mix, they managed to find happiness, if moment.”only for a split passed;moment.”
The white rose swayed again before Seraphine took a couple of steps back, her eyes taking in the field once more, the red roses painting a beautiful landscape of death and love that she had to witness herself was about to end.
She started to walk through the red fields away from the white rose, her hands brushing off each petal of each rose that passed; memories and feelings rushed through each time, like a reminder of who she spent her time with, who she cherished and those who cherished her.
Her smile grew wider as her gown weaved between each rose before she slowly turned back towards the fountain now in her distance, a misty figure appearing..
It was familiar, the small, frail body she knew that would replace her, the now pure skin and white, misty form in the distance looking at her with a saddened expression. There. There was no bandage, there was no injury, but just a pure figure waiting for the passing of her loved one.
She gives the brightest smile before looking up at the sky, from the bottom of her body. It slowly started to transform into white petals that drifted off with the breeze, her eyes filled with satisfaction at what would come. Her final words spoke with love, “I will leave the rest to you, Elovia.”
