Chapter 13:
Swim!
"Ugh, the doors are locked. Of course she locked them." Finn commented out loud.
What was that force?
Marina thought in her head.
Tyson was muttering something in his language.
"Alright, let's try to calm down and do as Miss Cherry said." Camellia was trying not to panic.
"Oh, we're going to the cabin but not to stay." Finn started walking.
"Huh, what?" Camellia was confused.
"I'm only going there to get my sack." He explained.
"Don't tell me you plan to fight? Finn, we're the civilians, not guards. It's too dangerous." Camellia sounded worried.
"Yes, but guards are not here; we have to defend our ship. Besides, you told me we would need my abilities on this trip sooner or later."
"Yes, for defense in the sea. I meant as a shield against the sea monsters, not to actually engage in the fight."
In the sea?
Tyson looked at them with curiosity in his eyes.
While they were arguing, someone broke the door. It was one of the thieves. He was a human with a masked face, carrying a metal stick in his hands.
The stick was covered with various gemstones. He swung with it and released a strong force that pushed hard on all four of them. Camellia quickly reacted and barely stopped them from hitting the wall.
"Phew." She sighed.
"Finn, take Marina and run." Fairy turned her head towards them for a brief moment before standing in a position to fight the thief.
"Camellia..." Finn wanted to say something.
"Go grab it." Camellia smirked.
"Yes!" Finn realized what she meant.
"Now go!" She raised her voice.
"Right. Marina, let's go." Finn said to her.
"You think I'm going to let you escape?!" The thief said as he attacked with his stick again.
Tyson blocked his attack with a wind spell and changed its direction towards the thief. The attack backfired on him.
"Thank you for your assistance." Camellia smiled.
"Well, I can't leave a lady to fight on her own." Tyson replied with a smirk on his face.
"This is our chance; let's go." Finn said quietly to Marina.
"True." She agreed. Finn and Marina ran through the passageway.
"Normally, I'd tell you to go with them and not ask you to use your powers. I realize as a fairy how contradicting that sounds of me, but—"
"Save it, lady. Time for action!"
His eyes glowed.
"Ugh." The thief was still lying on the floor.
"You damn warlock!" He commented with irritation in his voice while getting up.
Upon hearing that, Tyson got angry and started talking in his language again. Although no one could understand him, it was quite obvious the young man wasn't saying any nice words.
"Warlock?! Dear Mother, are you blind?!" Tyson was clearly upset.
"This rooster called me a warlock." He kept on complaining out loud.
"You are a warlock; don't play dumb. I saw you using witch magic!" The thief was still convinced of his statement.
Now Camellia also looked upset about this argument.
"Wow, blind and uneducated." Tyson commented.
The thief got so irritated that he carelessly attacked them in anger. Tyson blocked his attack again, but this time the thief managed to avoid getting hit.
"You are a warlock; don't lie to me!" The thief yelled.
"Ay yai yai. Maybe you'll know who I am when I roast you." Tyson's eyes glowed again.
"Just please don't burn the ship," Camellia said.
"Heh, no problem." He smirked.
"Wait, don't tell me... You are..." Suddenly the thief became worried.
Tyson unleashed a red fire attack on the thief.
"Oh no," the thief said before getting hit.
"And for your information, I'm a Plamenian. Make sure you get it right next time." The youngster had a smug face.
"Ahm." Camellia looked at him.
"Oh right, the ship."
Tyson walked slowly to check on the damage and mumbled something. As he said those unknown words, the fire disappeared. Nothing was burned.
"Oh, the doors crashed. But wait, that's his fault, not mine." Tyson said to Camellia.
"He must have broken the door and escaped." Tyson came to a conclusion.
"Most likely." Fairy came closer to take a look.
I have to admit, his abilities are impressive. However, that thief was half right; there is something odd about Tyson's magic.
Camellia thought.
"Heh, in the end I didn't do anything." She said.
"Oh, don't worry, miss, I'm sure you'll get your chance to shine." Tyson smiled.
Camellia giggled at that.
"Shall we check the deck and help them out?" Tyson suggested with a smirk.
"I suppose we could." Camellia replied.
In the meantime, Finn and Marina finally reached the cabins.
"Okay, here it is. Give me just five minutes to check everything, and we're ready to go." Finn grabbed a small sack.
"I'll lock the door then." Marina said.
"Good idea," Finn replied as he was grabbing various gemstones from the sack.
"So Finn, I know it's not the right time for questions, but what are those gemstones?" Marina was both confused and curious.
"I really wish that I had a better opportunity to tell you, but don't worry, I'll explain everything to you right now. About these gemstones and my power."
Finn had a serious expression on his face.
