Chapter 12:

Fiery Boy

Swim!

The young man roughly landed on the deck.
He was a tall guy with short red-purple hair and green eyes. The boy was around the same age as Marina and her friends.
"Ouch." He was aching all over.
"Are you okay?" Camellia said with a worried expression on her face. Finn and Marina rushed there as well to see what happened.
The youngster was muttering something in an unknown language.
Despite not understanding what he said, it was obvious from the boy's reaction that he was upset about something.
"Make way." Finn's mother said while pushing through the crowd.
She started talking in that same language as she reached the young man.
He turned his head towards Miss Cherry and quickly responded.
"Do you speak Alisian?" She asked the boy calmly.
"Oh right, lingua franca. Yes, a little." He said with a heavy accent.
"Great, can you please explain what happened?" Miss Cherry said to the boy.
"Yes, one second." Youngster said and got up from the floor.
He looked up and commented something again in an unknown language with irritation in his voice.
"See that albatross up there?" The young man pointed with his finger at the other flying ship above them.
"Yes," she replied.
"Some idiots pushed me, and I fell down here." The youngster spoke in an angry tone.
"What?! That's horrible. Are you hurt anywhere?" Miss Cherry sounded worried.
"No, I'm okay." The youngster replied.
"But they're not going to be." He muttered.
"Can you identify those who pushed you? I will alert the guards as soon as we reach New Alis. Wait, let me see whose albatross that is." Finn's mother looked through a spyglass.
"Aha, Red Rock. Phew, it's not ours." She said.
"Mom, I think that's the least important thing right now." Finn commented.
"I have to know. Plus, obviously it's not one of our albatrosses; my people wouldn't allow for this to happen unnoticed." Miss Cherry said to her son.
"Don't worry, whoever did this to you won't get away with it. Red Rock is going in the same direction, which means they must make a stop in New Alis. There is no other island until then." Finn's mother explained to the young man.
"You can stay with us for the time being." She said with a smile on her face.
"Also, what's your name, young man? I'll add you on the guest list."
"Tyson."
"Nice to meet you, Tyson. I'm Miss Cherry. This is my son Finn and his friends. Kids, could you please help Tyson around? I need to go back to the guests soon."
"Yes, of course," Finn said.
"Great, welcome aboard, Tyson." Miss Cherry smiled.
"Thank you, but—
"Oh, it's okay, really."
"No, you don't understand."
"I don't understand what?"
"It'll be too late by then. Those idiots don't get it, but ehhh, why do I even care? If they're stupid, let them be. " He proceeded to speak in his language again.
"Who, what? Can you explain so that we can understand what's going on?" Miss Cherry struggled to grasp the situation.
"Sure. The group of male fairies pushed me after I tried to warn them about the thieves." He said while sounding frustrated.
"Thieves?!" Finn's mother was shocked.
"Yes, the fairies didn't want to believe me. I lost my cool and used fire, but not on purpose and only after they first picked on me. I was only trying to help, but those thieves are still up there on the flying ship, and because those fools didn't listen, they will go unpunished, but what do I care?" The youngster was still very much irritated by the whole situation.
"I know they hate us, but mother of pigeon, they are dumb." He said out loud.
Mother of what?
Marina laughed on the inside after hearing that.
"Are you sure there are thieves on Albatross?" Miss Cherry asked him.
"Of course no one believes me." The young man was upset.
"It's not that. I must be sure when I explain the situation to the guards."
"Yes, there are thieves but we can't wait for guards because they will escape."
"They can't escape;thieves, no one can go anywhere until we reach the next island."
"Wrong, they can fly away."
"The thieves are fairies?"
"Not all, but humans and fairies work together; I saw them."
"But still, the wind is too strong; they won't be able to escape just like that. Especially if they carry objects with them.
"Wrong again. They have a whole bag with minerals that boost strength. Those thieves plan to use minerals to fly away, and then they go bye-bye."
"What?!" Finn's mother was shocked.
"Oh no." The youngster looked up again.
"They are coming here!" Tyson saw the thieves flying towards them.
"I guess they saw it as the opportunity to get double rich." He commented.
"Alert the whole ship! I need as many members as possible on the deck this instant!" Miss Cherry said to her people.
"And make sure to bring proper minerals with you."
"Yes, boss!" They all said it at the same time.
"Also, Steven, evacuate the passengers, but try not to cause a commotion. Just escort them to cabins." Miss Cherry said to one of them.
"Right away, boss." The man in the uniform said and immediately rushed to do as he was told.
"Finn, Camellia, and Marina, go with Tyson to your cabins too, and don't go out until I come back for you." The mother pulled a gemstone from her pocket. It was an emerald. Miss Cherry raised her hand and created the barrier around the albatross.
"But we can help defend the ship," Finn said.
"No, you'll get hurt. Listen to me right now; this is serious. You kids need to stay safe. We will take care of the thieves. Now go!" The mother raised her voice.
"Yes, Mom," Finn said despite feeling upset about that decision.
However, just as they were leaving, the thieves broke through the barrier.
Finn's mother used the power from another gemstone that was on her finger as a ring to push all four of them inside and shut the door.
Be safe.
She hoped for it.
