Log Three

15th June

The guests have arrived, and the spotlight is all on them. My dear fellow pioneers of science, we have begun our masterplan. Firstly, we must go through a few steps that need to be understood in hopes of making this much easier. During the coming days, they will be subjected to sheer isolation. There is no sound and no contact. We shall not put them through anything yet after the initial screenings. This is to ensure that they have time to reflect and ponder upon the situations they had experience, the position they are in, and the people they have left behind. In hopes of brimming up those negative emotions, I can then manipulate the environment to what will benefit them the most (Them but really me).

So far, Jolynn has the most will out of everyone here. She has already thwarted the dream sequence of Annabeth, which was truly unexpected. Yet this is what science is about! To search for the truth and uncover interesting theories along the way. It seems that she had subconsciously been implanted into Annabeth's mind through their interaction. I may have underestimated the power of relationships in this as even a few days were equal to a hundred years. Only because they shared a common goal I may add. Being placed in a dangerous situation with their backs against the wall helped build and establish a much faster relation.

So, I can conclude so far that human relations build and bond faster under extreme circumstances. This is quite understandable as there have been instances where someone may have helped us through a tough time, and we instinctively connect ourselves with them. Their problems and worries become our problems and worries. Over time, as we are more exposed to such conditions, the faster the relationship grows. A simple cause and effect between fear and relations.

Another interesting variable is that through the dream sequence, I was able to uncover that Annabeth enjoys playing the role of an overprotective sister. Or more so a caring sister. Overprotective isn't something we should use lightly as it could result in terrible meanings. Overprotectiveness has its benefits but also its flaws. And so most people do not usually associate it with love and care. This variable, however, has made it so that her mind has become determined in protecting Jolynn, and that is the only plausible conclusion as to why she appeared in Annabeth's dream.

Out of the three people, Harold is the weakest minded. Bringing in his children had resulted in his soul shattering immediately. As I observe him right now, he is still cradled in the middle of the room. It had been approximately 1 hour, 24 minutes, and 36 seconds since he had been there, and he had not once raised his head. Perhaps due to the constant reminder of his family around him. He is easily breakable. It is a much more contrast to the more masculine, strong-minded females that I have picked. It is hilarious as in this fine country, women have become more manly. It is an odd sight yet refreshing at the end. I sense an immense shift in change and attitude in the coming future.

Onto another subject, the rooms I have allocated each participant into is based on their own problems and lives.

Our first subject is Jolynn. Daughter of farmers. She grew up with her back against the wall most of her life, but she was always told that she would never be able to accomplish anything. Beauty is something women admire to the extent that they would die for it. Such stupidity is something only they would possess. A woman's beauty is her existence. Without it, she isn't real. And so, without much doubt, Jolynn has brought upon an insecurity to her own self. And thus mirrors. A way to reflect now will turn into her very own torment. Being surrounded by the thing you hate the most is most definitely going to change you. Even through all those smiles and strong will, insecurities are never defeatable. They are like parasites, slowing feeding away at you, gnawing into your mind until you become a mindless puppet only obeying it. I must keep in check her tendencies of trying to outsmart a person. This is purely based upon the fact that she is an educated human being. Even idiots have their strengths, but a thousand idiots are still nothing compared to one intelligent person. However, I look forward to my time with her as conversing with her own branch is knowledge, and free knowledge should always be taken.

Our second subject is Harold. Father, businessman, husband, a family man through and through. He grew up in a middle-class family his whole life. He took up his father's business and kept it going. It is the same business that has been running for many generations. Even, through all that masculinity present, he is still a soft child inside. Never raising his hand nor his voice. Well, until he encountered his dream sequence. Yet there is more to him that meets the eye. I shall not disclose it all just yet as there is no fun in such activities. Out of all the participants, he is most easy to break. I have nothing much to add on for him.

Finally, my dear Annabeth. Someone who worked as a sociologist a remarkably close branch of my own work. I believe we will have the best relationship through this. As fellow scientists, we have much more in common and so shall connect the best. A fine woman all over. However, her biggest weakness is her immense love for her brother. Being the one to raise him and provide for him, he made her grow a soft spot for him. In doing so, she has become more open and caring for others. Our latest example is Jolynn. Overall, she has the most wit and knowledge, and seeing how my experiments warp the minds of those with knowledge is...exhilarating.

Even though it is just the start, I can't help but contain my excitement. This constant urge to explore and take fills me up. The greed of man is something to be fearful of. We take, and we conquer. All because of our want. Devilish thoughts begin to possess us as we thrive in people's pain. I have always been an advocate for the fact that man is born to be evil. We have always had this stain on our hearts, and we have carried it for our whole lives. Our evil nature is our true reality because when we are at our worst, our truth comes out. No matter how many people deny it, this is what we are. The filth of the planet.

Even at the beginning, we conquered and destroyed the beautiful nature that surrounded us, built tall structures, and polluted the land and sea. Many animals have been killed because of our wants, and we shall continue to slaughter for eternity. Only until we reach God will we be judged and held accountable. And even then, the damage has already been done.

What is the point of a God that watches and waits whilst cruelty continues to proser? The poor suffer, and people die, yet this God sits idly waiting for the right day. How many more shall die till it gets to the right day? How many more shall suffer?

Another one of man's weaknesses is to create a perfect being. It has done nothing but held us and restricted us from unleashing our truest potential. However, that is a much different matter. So far, the three participants are gradually becoming familiar with their surroundings, and I shall continue to observe. Next time we meet, I shall have gained a vast amount of knowledge. Until then.
