Chapter 56:
God Games
Toki glances towards Shina and Ayuri. “Do you guys think this is even going to be a fight?”
“No,” Shina stated firmly before turning to Dahoqu and his group, their eyes clearly dismissive of the comments she made about their deity. Was it confidence or knowing that the truth is also in Falsities' favour?
They all looked down towards their orbs before seeing Falsity from a far perspective, standing among the clouds; they both stood still, watching each other.
Silas Brown's formal attire, matched with his greyed hair and beard, gave him an old gentleman appearance, the mechanical gears around his wrists and top hat spinning slowly, showing something supernatural.
While Falsity had her hollow black eyes staring towards him, the darkness in them was evident like day and night, her black peasant dress flowing in the wind wildly like her black hair due to their immense height, while her pale face gave out a confident smirk despite the severity of what would happen in a moment.
“Do you want to go all out? I could match your power for now to see how it goes,” Flaisty insisted.
Silas nodded gently before looking grimly towards her. “Suit yourself; just don't make any excuses.”
“I find this situation amusing, that you were prepared to fight me from the beginning. You were always wary of me despite acting obedient. You're a fool, however, for throwing that all aside for a battle,” she exclaimed.
He just gave her a small smile. “Letting a new deity be created from a mortal, changing the rules of our order as you see fit, I don't really take those things lightly in my eyes.”
I wonder if that right hand has something to do with it, or perhaps someone from the purity division.
Falsity puts her palm up before manifesting a pair of black tendrils, the purity of the darkness evident across the bright atmosphere. She turns her palm, aiming it towards Silas, before pushing her hand out, causing it to lash out towards him.
He moves towards the left side, avoiding the attack before manifesting an old carbine rifle into his hands, aiming towards her in a swift motion. His movements were efficient and precise, but Falsity could see his intention before it even started.
Starting with a gun, I will use my tendrils for now and see if he powers up or something.
She takes her hand before shooting out the same tendrils, their violent movements closing in on Silas before he manages to shoot it straight in its body, causing it to splatter a black ink-like substance.
Silas flies backwards before putting out his two hands; tonnes of various mechanical guns start to appear behind him. There were flintlocks, old rifles and weapons made of just gears and coins as ammo. His arsenal took over the skies, as there were over a hundred weapons behind his back, floating in mid-air at the same time.
“Do you think any of those could actually damage me? The magic difference in that and my abilities is a hundredfold.” Falsity puts her arms to the side, clearly inviting him to take a shot.
The odd thing is that despite his magic being from a way lesser form. Its readings fluctuate depending on what he does; if any of these bullets manage to hurt me, then I can assume that there is some factor affecting this. A mechanical god bound humans for their use can't damage me after all.
Silas fires out all one hundred shots at once from the weaponry; there wasn't a shred of a bullet anywhere. Just flashing lights, as Falsity weaved some of them out of pure entertainment. Some grazed her, causing her clothes to barely scratch, while others missed completely towards the floor.
Their power was tremendous, as the group watching saw that the ground beneath Silas and Falsity had already been levelled completely in rubble and dirt; the explosions delayed their sound as they caught up with them behind.
Considering Falsity thinks this is a mere child's power compared to hers, would the representatives be safe despite the kilometre distance?
“You destroyed some trees, some grass and a bit of ground. But it seems you failed to do anything but a scratch to me,” she laughed out towards Sila’s grim expression from the other side, his guns ready to shoot again.
Without replying, he did just that; the guns fired hundreds of rounds compared to the measly couple he shot before. Shockwaves hit the entire world as the representatives struggled to find their footing on shaking ground.
Toki grabs Ayuri before whispering toward her ear, “Make us some sort of stable platform.”
She nodded before tapping her drum major stick; an elevated platform made out of golden threads for both groups formed, and most importantly, it didn't shake.
Their eyes widen as the faraway distance turns into mere explosions and blinding lights; the power of a deity wasn’t one to underestimate, even if it's a new one.
“Can she really survive all that?” Ayuri heightened her voice.
Shina didn't reply despite still watching in the orb; each bullet was but a mere inconvenience to Falsity from what she could see.
They got more powerful, tenfold in power it seems. That's still plenty of me, however, but the random boosts in power don't make sense.
Falsity stood in the air, taking the shots like a shield. She couldn't see what was happening from the amount of dust and smoke around her, but the sounds of the guns firing still made her realise that Silas was still spamming.
“You can give it up; let's get close already,” Falsity shouted out.
In an instant, Silas appeared behind Falsity, holding a flintlock pistol, its golden barrel shining brightly towards her face. He pulls the trigger before a tendril blocks the bullet at point-blank range, causing it to splatter everywhere before dissipating.
That power!
Falsity moved herself back, studying his movements. They were fast. Dangerous and, more importantly, life-threatening
“You put all your power into one strike, yet you aren't even tired,, she scoffed.
