Chapter 18:
Stalked, Isekaid, Stalked Again
I can still use my thin metal to fish for the purple salmon, but it turns out that Salty Ray is better at this! He can simply use his floating hands to catch the salmons! All that’s left is for me to descale and cook them. This reminds me of working with mom. I would handle the kneading because mom’s hands are slowly stiffening while mom would handle the rest. I miss mom. If I were to get out, I would definitely introduce them to mom. I don’t know if they would want to live or work with us—considering that they might be from different World Numbers, but they can certainly come to visit our bakery.
Oh yeah, where were Wanda and Timothy? They were here minutes ago. Wait. If I recall, Timothy said that he already told Wanda about the locator. What if they’re looking for Wanda’s sword right now? They’re both adults. They can do whatever they want. But still, I’m worried because we don’t have any way to communicate between us. If a Demon attacked them, nobody would’ve known. Timothy can defend himself, but Wanda can’t do much. The best that Wanda can do is use a spell that she learned from Timothy. That is, if she learned anything from him.
Now that I think about it, what is her class and subclass actually? I never asked her. In fact, I never asked my floating words about that. I simply assumed that she is a Fighter because she mentioned a blade, but she can use a spell. Can a Fighter do that? Maybe some subclasses can learn a limited amount of spell, so that’s not out of the ordinary. But she needs her sword. Could that sword be her replacement for spellbook? That’s possible. I suppose that I’ll have to wait for them to come back. I had my adventure before, this is Wanda’s and Timothy’s time to do their adventures on their own. Who knows. Maybe one day Salty Ray will have his own personal adventure next. Maybe he’ll beat some cultists on his own.
Now that I think about it, the cultists are strange. Their movements and mannerisms are the same as if they’re one unit. They can’t be real people. Also, my stalker is the only one that can summon any creature, and the creatures he summoned so far all have similar features and behaviors. Could it be that this world only allows Adventurers to summon an army of minions without any personality instead of one unique creature? If that’s the case, then, the cultists might be summoned by someone. The best candidate I have right now is Brenuaza. She’s a Demon obsessed with bringing Demons out of World Number… 69 if I recall.
Oh yeah! I haven’t listened to Ominilia’s audio log yet! Maybe there’s a clue in there somwhere. Floating words!
DETAIL CHECK
Order confirmed.
“Brenuaza lied! She said that she could cure my blood! All she ever ever did was take, take, and take! She kept taking it for her blood magic! What’s so good about my blood? It’s tainted with filthy Fey from the outside!”
Okay. That’s a lot to unpack. At least it’s better than the previous lore. No lovey dovey story here… hopefully.
“I am a storage. A self-generating storage for an engine I cannot comprehend. I cannot be whole without having holes all over my body! I must drain every drop out. The invading Fey won’t run through my veins.”
Okay. That’s giving me a lot of thoughts.
“I will slaughter the faceless cloak made by the wretched brain!”
Okay. I’m starting to see how it’s all connected.
“I pray that I can complete my vigilant mission before I was chosen to be exiled out of this world.”
Wait, what?
“Long live Demons!”
I didn’t know Demons had that. The other two didn’t say anything like it.
If I understood this correctly, the Fey actually came from a different world. They invaded the World Number 69. Maybe the same way I got here. That implies that the Fey also has Goldcalibur. So the process to made the sword is multiversal.
The Fey is bad to the Demon the same way that the Demon is bad to this world. That would explain why Ominilia is hated. She was a half Fey, half Demon. She was tricked into giving her blood to Brenuaza. That’s clear to me. What isn’t clear is: how does gravity magic factor into this? If this is fiction, then this might be a hint that there’s another Demon boss later on besides Brenuaza.
Wait. Why are Demons bosses? I never got any boss notification from Nostrazeus. The same for other Adventurers. Is there a requirement to be one? I can’t figure this one out unless I encounter other types of creatures. I’ve already encounter a half-Fey. I might encounter a full one later on.
Speaking of Fey, where did they come from? Invading could mean that they came from other lands or worlds. If it’s simply lands, then there’s nothing to speculate. But if it’s worlds, then that opens an entire can of worms. For starters, that means that each world has one main species. Human is for World Number 1. Demon 69. I’m not sure what 39 is yet. Fey is a mystery for now, but I’m sure that it’ll be revealed to me later.
Wait wait wait. In games, Sorcerers are usually someone that have 1 unique species mixed with a common species in their bodies, right? Does that means that there’s a world full of Dwarvel and Steam Sapien respectively? Maybe Ambrousian too? If that’s the case, I’m practically a representative of three worlds! That sounds impressive, but it doesn’t seem that it gives me anything extra. For that kind of fusion, I should an ambassador or something like that. That must’ve paid well. I can set up mom for retirement. Does human still count? I used to be one. If yes, then I have 4 species in my DNA. Somehow, I’m starting to sound more and more like a freak.
Next topic. Faceless cloak made by the wretched brain.
Brain is simple. That’s Brenuaza. She’s smart and has a stitch on her head. But faceless cloak is suspicious. My stalker has faceless people in tuxedo. These two cases… are they using the same spell? If Brenuaza’s summons can be used to summon other Demon, then my stalker can do the same!
Wait a minute. He has no gravity magic. If he has, he would’ve used it against me back then. He also doesn’t have any Demon’s blood. That’s one less worry for me. Although, he still holds Goldcalibur. If it works the same way here, then he can send someone to other world. He’s the opposite of Brenuaza in this aspect. It’s also possible that since my stalker and Benuaza have different species, their spell works differently.
Wait… Brenuaza is said to be some sort of scientist for the Demon. Could she be experimenting with her spells? Something was added to her summoning spell. Fey?
That raises a question. Does Brenuaza’s summon actualy uses Ominilia’s blood? Since Ominilia is dead, that means that Brenuaza shouldn’t be able to do it anymore unless she has some spare blood. If that’s the case, all I have to do is kill enough Demons to deplete that reserve.
Wanda and Timothy are back! Wanda is carrying a wet bastard sword while Timothy is carrying a bottle with a scroll in it. That must be a spell. Good thing that there’s still a lot of salmons for them.
