Chapter 39:
Stalked, Isekaid, Stalked Again
5 days in. The work is done. All thanks to the bikes. Currently, we have 4 bike-trucks and 4 bike-turrets. Since we have nothing to do for two days, a question crosses our minds.
“Why don’t we just blast these rocks?” asks Nostrades.
“That’ll solve a lot of problem,” says Nostreidon.
I actually agree with them. We have the means to do that. Sure, we might miss a few obsidians, but they will be destroyed by the upcoming Tyfobius anyway. We can’t keep the bikes in the bunker. Might as well have fun with them while it lasts.
“Let’s add more bike-turrets.”
“We can destroy it much faster.”
4 bike-trucks. I can convert two of them as turrets for the two remaining bikes. Not a problem. I have nothing to do anyway.
Operating the forge feels like breathing at this point. I don’t even need to be conscious to do it. The passive ability of Dwarvel will take care of it. Maybe I can do it while asleep? Let’s give it a try.
Zzzzzz
Well whadaya know. I can actually do it while asleep. However, I have to admit that the sleep didn’t prevent me from being tired. If anything, I actually feel more tired!
Two more bike-turrets are ready. I won’t be driving any of them. Forging on them is work enough for me. Let the others have fun.
Shards flying. Dust rising. More shards flying. More dust rising. The pile shrinks and shrinks. In the end, there’s nothing left besides scattered pieces of black crystals.
DETAIL CHECK
Initializing boss fight.
It feels like I haven’t seen it for years at this point. I almost forgot that this world has a game-like system. I can’t see anything to fight. It must be coming from the portal. Let’s go see it.
DETAIL CHECK
Umbrarose the Peaceless
Whatever. It’s not like it matters at this point.
The bike-turrets move to the portal. Once they have the target on sight, all six of them blast a Fey. I can’t even see the Fey’s fullbody because the floating words keep showing me @@@. Whatever bug causes it, it’s annoying. At least I don’t have to fight this time.
DETAIL CHECK
Audio unlocked:
Umbrarose the Peaceless
I didn’t even have to do anything.
Since there’s nothing left to do, floating words.
DETAIL CHECK
Order confirmed.
“The total number of known worlds is 71. Recently, they’re gone. Forever. We, Fey, live in the World Number 70. I must find out why.”
That’s unexpected. I actually expected a lore dump about a war in the Fey’s world.
“As other worlds, there are small pieces of each world in our world. I inspected everything we have regarding World Number 71. Items, science, lore—everything. There is no indication that World Number 71 had any sign of cataclysm in their existence. They’ve been peaceful since the dawn of their time.”
Peaceful? I wish I lived in that world. If it’s still around, that is.
“I’ve come to the realization that peace is a disease to the world.”
What?! Where did that come from?!
“Every world is a test. If there is no test, then the world would be wiped out of existence. In order to prolong the test, someone in the world must suffer. More suffering, the longer the world would live. The tests will be held on a suffering individual. Those that live happily will lead the world to destruction. Someone must suffer for them to prosper.”
That… explains a lot.
“I don’t want Fey to go extinct. We need to suffer in order to live. We must hate peace! War is the only way to extend our world! We must extend the test for our survival!”
I’m not sure that anyone would have to go that far.
“I am thankful for what Iocus had done for our world. His Tyfobius contributed to our longevity. We can make more history if we keep doing this. I will go out there and spread as many chaos as I can find.”
I don’t stand with this opinion. Why would we spread war and chaos? We laugh and cry. Each individual person experience both good and bad. We don’t need to add any needless bad or good. If the ‘test’ comes, let it come. What’s important is that we can find our own way of living and we can try our best. If the Feys feel hopeless, so be it. I will keep on fighting in my life, for my life. I’ll always have something to fight for.
That being said, what was World Number 71 actually? Based on what I can find through the Lapis Lazuli armor, nothing. They don’t officialy know anything about it. Based on the information from Sorcerous Lake? Also nothing.
That’s strange. Since worlds cross path constantly, there should be a small remnant of them left. Even Umbrarose had some materials. Was it that isolated from everyone else? The only theory I can conjure is that they did travel to other worlds and stay there. In my world, there’s only human. There’s no other major species that I know off. If Ambrousian is the original species in this world, it’s possible that Dwarvel was an outsider.
Wait. I can just check about Dwarvel.
From the suit scanning the empire’s information, yep. Outsider. But there’s no record which world they were from.
From the vast knowledge I gained in Sorcerous Lake, same. They’re outsider to some worlds. No information where they came from.
Based on these two, there’s no doubt about it. Dwarvel came from World Number 71. Which means that I got a dead world’s species as a subclass for my Sorcerer class. Indirectly, I’m a remnant from a dead world.
Wait a minute.
Where did Nostramount originated from?
Checking… checking…
No one knows.
There are two dead worlds? Then, Ambrousia actually tried to eradicate outsiders? Not that I condone their actions, but that definitely adds another layer of their logic. Even I tried to keep Demon and Fey from getting here with varying degree of success. In its own way, this makes World Number 39 suffer a lot longer, and by Umbrarose’s logic, live longer. In a way, I sympathize with them. But, they are literally going to nuke this village along with me. I won’t defend them unless they stop their upcoming assault.
I doubt that’ll happen.
