Chapter 59:

Truth

God Games

Dahoqu flips the hourglass one more time, seeing Silas yet again get dragged down to the void, and he and Toki go back once again. It was getting tedious at this stage for them to keep doing this, but it was necessary.

“I personally, despite being as powerful as a deity, can't intervene with any representatives directly, and neither can anyone else from management.”

Toki starts tapping his leg; there is clear unease setting in now.

I'm both a mortal that transcends the rules of the game and also powerless compared to a deity. In that case, I can see why Falsity needed the contract done; in her eyes, I'm basically an eternal tool that can never be deleted.

His gaze glares down towards the faceless Dahoqu, the unsettling image of someone he knew before this sudden change setting in over time. "I don't have magic; I can't get deleted by magic. Are you implying God Games is completely out of magic?”

Toki nodded in shock. Magic and manipulation were the answer to everything, and he saw it as a mere power tool for deities and mortals to use.

“We will continue the games as planned, of course, no matter what; that's what management stands for, but there is also the side where Falsity exists, where you can try to get rid of us and let her rule over the deity world and this one.”

I get to pick between a deity who enjoys watching us kill each other for entertainment or a goddess that is set out to burn it all down and ascend herself to take over, which could be both worse and better.

“Both options are terrible, so let me tell you what affects my choice.” Toki let out a chuckle to himself; his options weren’t beneficial to mortals like him at all, the ones with no power, the ones that couldn't survive god games or a world where Falsity got to do as she pleased, knowing her.

The silence in the atmosphere shifts; his mind was already set on a decision.

“I want to keep Ayuri safe forever. But not only her but also Shina, despite her not wanting me to do that for her. If you saw, management knows about everything, then you should know I made my decision when I was at the camp of the purity division.”

Dahoqu stared emptily towards him, nothing changing.

"So I'm going to assume you are against the order of things and also against the change of the order. That's a satisfactory answer; do not get hopes from this, however. There will always be one ruling side. I personally am made to be neutral to mortals, so I do hope your hopes and admirations don't fall.”

The fight in the distance stopped; the tendrils of the void were wrapped around Silas tightly before they didn't submerge him fully. Falsity stared down at him from above before turning towards the group.

The time looping stopped already; that took shorter than expected. I can't believe that they really had this underlying entity trying to figure me out and that Silas was working with them. Explains the power fluctuations and the overpowering ability they had. I'm starting to enjoy this.

Falsity took a breath out before getting her magic ready towards maximum. A dark aura spreads across from her before she closes and opens her eyes, appearing behind Dahoqu with her scythe in hand.

Toki, seeing the situation, widens his eyes at the sudden appearance of the goddess teleporting behind Dahoqu before she swings her scythe, causing his body to split in two, with not a sign of any dark energy or blood anywhere in sight.

“I heard about it all. Your past and your plans,” he said towards her.

Falsity scoffed before walking past him towards Shina.

“Fly over to that fool god and take its magic; that should be plenty to turn you into the blooming flower.” She gave a gentle pat towards Shina before looking towards Silas, frozen in tendrils near the void.

Toki quickly walks towards Shina before pointing his spear in front of her. Suddenly, between her and Falsity.

“Shina, if you do that, then you will help her towards destroying everything.” Toki knew speaking to her was rather useless, but his idea was to get Ayuri on board towards him.

Falsity let out amused laughter. "Just because you got more knowledge doesn't mean you got more power. I know what those underlings told you might seem daunting for you, but I plan to overthrow them with or without you.”

“Shina, if I told you that only one person can survive at the end, would you believe me?” Toki took a glance towards her before seeing Falsity let out a soft chuckle.

She moves away from the spear, looking out towards Silas in the distance from the platform. “I promised to Hiwo; I promised to myself. I will continue this path to the end. Also, you're a terrible liar.”

Shina read through him completely. It seemed, after all, the contract protected Ayuri from any harm under Falsity’s gaze, and knowing that information from Dahoqu means that she definitely can't break it.

“We're going to talk about this soon.” Falsity gave one final glance towards Toki before giving a glance towards the remaining members of Silas' group, clearly telling them not to intervene; she had enough underlings of that robotic entity to deal with already.

Toki then turns to Falsity, asking one final question, “Was that deity also a–”

“Yes, he was someone from the management team. I had suspicions from the start, but the way they reset time is something not even I could do within this world or Justice herself. His power was also clearly abnormal, too high for a god of such a low tier. Falsity then turned her gaze towards Silas, seeing that Shina already was flying towards him.

The time for her awakening was here, the moment that Falsity had been waiting for finally coming to begin.
