Chapter 20:

Forging the Blades for the Storm of War

From High School Senior - To Fantasy Card Game Slayer

"I've returned - I'm ready to rule in stewardship, and in your collective service."

Kimi said, ready to begin another psychic conversation as she bowed to Haruto, Akio, Aoto, and Sota - having made her way to the Primordial Elemental Elder Realm once her parents were asleep that night - where it was night back in Sapporo in the other world. Kimi's short skirted school uniform had been again replaced by the tight fitting, pink and white, elaborately designed armor of the character that she'd designed and that she now embodied, Sakura the Slayer Queen, with her equally elaborate sword replacing her school bag. As Kimi waited for the wingless dragons that were hovering before her to answer, she  noticed that her sword still had the pink and white, oil slick-like shine that had appeared when she'd forged Kana's power into it. Kimi smile at this detail, before returning her gaze to the wingless dragons that ruled over this realm.

"The speed with which humanity has advanced in terms of the forging of new aspects of culture, the invention of technology, and the changing of ideas - your reign will move with far greater swiftness than did Akira's in his days here and in your world."

Haruto said, as Kimi recalled what Akio had said to her in the aftermath of the final battle of the most recent War of the Realm. Kimi knew all too well of what he meant, how different the land that would eventually become Japan, had been when Akira took on the role of ruler in stewardship in the Primordial Elemental Elder Realm in 1025 AD and going between these lands and worlds, versus 2025 AD, when Kimi's reign was now taking shape.

"The War of the Realm will be greater in scale than ever before. Gone are the days of woodblock prints and scrolls being the mediums of enchantment to bring Socerer and Sorceress Kings and Queens, Slayer Kings and Queens, as well as Common Folk from your world to this one. Do not worry, we shall manage this endeavor, and you'll know when it's time to oversee the war."

Akio stated as Kimi turned to him, considering that she'd have to coordinate with the new four Sorcerer and Sorceress Kings and Queens, as well as the Slayer Kings and Queens, as applicable. After all, they'd need to keep up appearances - as well as being crucial to the combined effort to defeat Haruto, Akio, Aoto, and Sota, and destroy the Primordial Elemental Elder Realm so that no one would ever have to be transported there against their will, ever again.

"You'll need to understand the depths and layers of all of the four fiefdoms of the realm, now that you have ascended to the position that Akira held. Take heed in this, for you are no longer simply the Slayer Queen within your own fiefdom."

Aoto said as Kimi nodded to him, considering that she should understand the geography and the overall unique attributes of the different fiefdoms for the purpose of being as prepared as she could for the coming incarnation of the War of the Realm which would end all further incarnations of it.

"Do not become complacent in your duties - nor forget the position for which you have been placed in."

Sota said as his gaze pierced Kimi, and she wondered if he was onto her - before pushing that thought in there mind aside, knowing that even if Sota and the other wingless, two-mouthed dragons were onto her, she'd have to persevere nonetheless.

"I accept these terms - and I'm going to go to my throne room to contemplate this, before I go back to the there world, to my home in my world."

Kimi said as she looked at each of them, before bowing and then turning to go back to her fortress and armory. She couldn't help but feel a surge of urgency, in. part - fueled by the fact that she wanted justice for herself, and for Kana.

As she began to walk from the center of the realm where the borders of the four fiefdoms converged - she couldn't help but wonder how this was gong to go? How would she be able to overcome all of the wingless, two-mouthed dragons? She hadn't ever seen their full power - and how would she restore everyone's memories? Would she even be able to? Kimi didn't know, but it was a pervasive thought that compounded in her mind.

"I sense sentiments of betrayal in her mind and in her words."

Sota said as he looked at Haruto, Akio, and Aoto.

"Even so - the Slayer Queen knows not of our full powers, the forms which we can take and the powers which we can unleash. Let her try, and even with the powers that she has as our Emissary and ruler of all four fiefdoms in stewardship - she'll never be able to overcome our immortal might."

Haruto said as Akio and Aoto hovered calmly, their silence signaling agreement.

It wasn't long before Kimi was once again sitting in her ivory and ruby inlaid throne, with her sword at her side, as she stared at the ivory and ruby inlaid statue of Kana.

"It never should've been like this - our hobbies turned into figurative and literal battles to be waged by us against our wills, alongside and against our peers. I'll make sure that I undo it all, for them, and for us."

Kimi said as she brushed the cheek on the statue of Kana, considering the weight of what was to come. She wondered where Kana was then, and what she was doing? How did she feel? Her memories of this place were wiped, and Kimi knew that that included herself. She then sighed and nodded to herself - steeling herself for the coming endeavor that the only way to win this time, would be to unleash a War of the Realm unlike any that had preceded it!

With that in mind, Kimi nodded and made her way down the grand stairs and to the main doors of her fortress and armory, before closing her eyes and willing herself back in her bed in Sapporo, and thus in her lounge clothes at home. By morning, it would be Saturday, and that meant that she could use the weekend to search for Kana, as well as to plan for the coming conflict.
