Chapter 38:
I Found my Pathetic Self Transported to Another World after Having my First Love Confession Rejected. Will I be Able to Find the Life I Want to Have here??
Alex sat in the dining hall of the Inn, eating breakfast. He was just finishing half of his double portion bacon and eggs, when Violet came in the room. She came over to him. Recently she started wearing her hair down. So it waved after her when she moved fast enough.
“Good morning.”, she said and sat down next to him and blew a few strands of hair out of her face.
“Good morning.”, answered Alex and swished some of her hair from his shoulder.
He slid over his plate, and she began eating.
“Ah, I see the old married couple is at it again.”, said Cera appearing next to them.
Violet didn’t even flinch one bit anymore.
“We’re not married… well, not anymore... good morning Cera.”, she said.
Violet noticed a bundle of cloth on the floor next to Alex’s foot.
“What’s that in the bundle?”, she asked curiously.
“What? Ah… uhm… nothing.”, said Alex, pushing the under the bench with his foot.
“Huh? Okay…”
At that moment the door opened, and Yona came in. She spotted Alex immediately and came rushing over.
“Good morning!”, she said, her eyes full of excitement.
“Good morning.”, answered Alex back.
Violet just nodded. Cera gave the young dwarf a warm smile. Yona sat herself across from Alex and grabbed his arm.
“Hey… uhm… regarding the…uhm… favor you asked me… I…found the… perfect place for it… but I don’t know… if it will even work… or if it will turn out right… since it’s a first time after all, but we can even do it today if you want… or right now even.”, said Yona a bit cryptic and glancing over to Violet from time to time.
“Yeah, let’s do it right now!”, said Alex immediately.
“What? Wait! You can’t go!”, shouted Violet nearly and grabbed his other arm.
Alex and Yona turned to her in surprise.
“Why can’t I go?”, he asked confused.
“Uhm… because…uhm…Oh, your beard is a bit crooked today, let me fix that first.”, she said and pulled him down into the seat.
“Oh… ehm… okay…”, agreed Alex a bit hesitantly.
Violet slowly and gently touched his beard and began undoing the braids, before carefully and slowly redoing them for him. She did not look him in the eyes the whole time but concentrated on her hands. One time she glanced over at Yona, who just watched with her mouth slightly open and her face turned slightly red. Violet felt very satisfied with that and also the perfect braids that Alex now had hanging from his face.
“And all done.”, she said.
“Uhm… yeah… thank you.”, said Alex.
Violet released him from her grip, still not meeting his eyes.
“You two have fun now.”, she said and looked at Yona.
The young dwarf seemed to have found her composure again and gave Violet a very curios look.
“Okay, then we better go.”, said Alex got up and reached for the bundle.
“Yeah, let’s go…”, said Yona.
They both left the room.
“Interesting… what’s in the bundle, I wonder…”, said Caleb suddenly next to Violet.
She didn’t even flinch anymore.
“Who knows… probably some picknick snacks or something… I don’t care though.”, said Violet and grinned.
She would find out soon that she was deeply mistaken.

“Here it is”, said Yona an hour later.
They stood in front of a shop with a sign that read “Klopf’s Magical Smithy”.
“The owner here is a bit of an Oddball I heard, but he has proven his skill to make the weirdest things somehow work.”, explained Yona.
“Perfect.”, said Alex and went in.
Yona followed him. They entered a workshop with a forging station, wood working area and general work area. A lot of strange contraptions were scattered across the room, and the walls were full of very strange and exotic weapons. Alex recognized some, but most of them were completely alien to him. A dwarf stood by a large table, his face buried in some blueprints.
“I heard you had a potential work proposal for me.”, he muttered without looking up.
“What would you say to try and make something that has probably never been attempted. Something that isn’t even sure to work well or even at all. The attempt to combine something that is so far apart, that most would never even dream of the concept of combining it. The outcome is unsure, but if it would work it sure as hell would be the cool as fuck.”, said Alex.
The dwarf looked up.
“I would say… Open up that bundle and show me what you got for me, boy.”, he said with the glowing ember of a craftsman in his eyes, when he gets to make something cool.
Alex laid his cloth bundle on the table, opened it up and explained what his plan was. The ember in the dwarven eyes grew to a blaze.
