Suzanna continued to stare at her phone. Steam was rising from the top of her superheated head.
She shook herself to disperse.
(Calm down! This is Simon we're talking about. He's probably just looking to score points with Mrs. Gamal.)
She groaned before checking the restaurant's address.
(Wait, this actually isn't all that far from here. I could walk...)
She frowned.
(But do I really want to? I mean, he's just going to be moody the whole time. I should tell him to to take a hike.)
And so she did, but before she could hit send...
(Wait, what if he makes my training worse?)
The images of Simon forcing her to punch steel beams or pitting her against a steamroller that he was driving flashed in her mind.
She let out a loud, frustrated sigh and rewrote her message.
"I'll see you there"
She then texted Sarah that she was going out, as well as sending her the address of the restaurant before throwing off her blanket.
Simon received her text and let out a small sigh of relief.
He was seated at the kitchen table with Bruce, who was eating chocolate oatmeal and asking, "She say yes?"
"She did."
"This girl must really fancy you, then."
"Don't be ridiculous," Simon said while putting his phone down.
"Yer right," Bruce conceded, holding up a spoon to his mouth while maintaining eye contact, "She's probably just terrified of you."
Simon didn't respond to that. He just got up and made for the stairs.
"Do ya at least 'ave a plan?"
Simon paused and said, "Maybe..." Then continued up the stairs.
Bruce continued eating his oatmeal.
(This should be good.)
